Einrichtung zum Sichern eines Maschinenteiles auf einer
Welle gegen axiale Verschiebung

Device for securing a machine part on a
Shaft against axial displacement
The invention relates to a device for securing a machine part on a shaft against axial displacement in the form of a split locking ring which has two resilient ring segments of the same shape, the free ends of which are designed as hooks in the ring plane, which hooks when assembling the ring segments in A groove of the shaft slide over one another in a resilient manner until they snap into the hook recesses of the counter-segment and hold the segments together in the form of a complete ring according to patent no. 179685.
The known devices of the type mentioned have the disadvantage that their ring segments only have a low expansion capability. This again excludes a greater height of the ring shoulder, such as such. B. is necessary if the machine part to be secured by the ring has edge radii or bevels. The rigidity of such a ring increases proportionally more than the height of its radial depth, so that the ring segments of greater cross-sectional height cannot be bent out sufficiently to ride over the hook parts of the corresponding counter-segment. This is all the more disadvantageous in that a greater depth of the hook is also desired in order to prevent accidental loosening of the connection.
It is also important that the ring segments retain their elasticity and can return to their original state after a temporary deformation during assembly.

the deficiencies indicated by a ring segment mounted in the groove of a shaft, Fig. 2 a view of one of these ring segments, Fig. 3 a
Section along the line m-in in FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 shows the view of a locking ring with an essentially square circumferential contour.
The two ring segments 31 and 32 which are used to secure a machine part on a shaft 30 according to FIG. 1 of the drawing are of the same shape and, when inserted into a relatively deep groove 33 transversely to the axis of the shaft 30, form a practical one uniform ring with a high shoulder to secure a machine part 34 against axial displacement.
One free end of the ring segment is designed as a resilient cantilever arm 36 adjoining a rigid segment body 35, the outer edge 38 of which is arcuately curved with a radius R1, ie. H. has the same radius as the outer edge 37 of part 3b. The inner edge 39 of the arm 35 is recessed; H. it steps back in relation to the inner edge 40 of the segment body 35 and thus offers space for an elongated tongue provided in the ring segment 31.
The inner edge 39 of the arm 36 is preferably formed eccentrically to the outer edge 38 in such a way that the radial depth gradually decreases towards the free end. The inner edge 39 can, for. B. be provided with an inen directed, rounded, nose-shaped projection 41 which acts as a hook. The second end of the ring segment 31 or 32 is shaped as an elongated, tongue-like projection 42 with an inner edge 43 which forms a continuation of the inner edge 40 of the rigid segment body 35. The outer edge 44 extends as an arc with a radius Rs and a center point Cs. The latter is somewhat distant from Ci and in the direction opposite to the center point C2.
At the point where the arcuate tongue 42 adjoins the rigid segment body 35, a recess 45 is provided on its outer edge 44, the outline of which is designed in such a way that it can receive the nose 41 of the corresponding other ring segment.
The ring segment 31 is identical to the ring segment 32 and therefore need not be specifically described. When the ring segments 31, 32 are pushed into one another in the region of the groove 33 above the shaft 30, they mutually exert a locking effect, as shown in FIG. 1, and form an essentially fully filled and balanced shoulder on the shaft 30. As a result of the great flexibility of the cantilever arms 15, the lugs 41 can slide easily over the tongue-like projections 42 and then snap into the recesses 45. Due to the significantly increased expandability of the cantilever arms 36, there is no risk of permanent deformation during assembly.
Since the actual segment body 35 does not need to be stressed, they can be designed to be essentially rigid and therefore offer the fundamental advantage of a significantly increased shoulder height with the possibility of sitting in a deep groove.
Although such safety rings are usually designed with a circular outer contour, it can be advantageous in certain cases to use ring segments 31 'with a square contour 37', 38 ', as shown in FIG.
