Dampfkochkessel

Steam boiler
The invention relates to a steam boiler with a pivotable lid to which an articulated retaining flap is assigned, which is intended to reach under a projection attached to the boiler, and with a valve to be opened before the lid is opened for the purpose of releasing the steam , whereby a seal is provided between the cover and the boiler, the sealing effect of which is reinforced by the steam pressure prevailing in the boiler.
In a known kettle of this type, the retaining flap is not adjustable with respect to the projection attached to the kettle, so that two bracing elements are necessary to press the lid firmly and completely tightly onto the kettle.
In another steam boiler that has become known, a seal is provided between the lid and the boiler, the sealing effect of which is reinforced by the steam pressure in the boiler in that a vertically directed flange of this seal, which is inserted vertically in the lid, is pressed against the almost vertical edge of the boiler. The disadvantage here is the vertical clamping of the seal in the cover and its increased edge formation as well as, in particular, that this seal can only be placed on the almost vertical edge of the boiler.
In order to avoid these disadvantages, it is proposed according to the invention that the retaining flap is adjustable perpendicular to its hinge axis and can be locked at the selected distance from the axis, and that the seal inserted into the lid has a horizontal, flange-like projection which is caused by the steam pressure can be pressed against the horizontal upper edge of the boiler.
This achieves the advantage that when a retaining flap is used as a closure element between the lid and the vessel, a single tensioning element, namely the retaining flap itself, can be managed. Another advantage is that the seal between the lid and the kettle can be pressed against the horizontal upper edge of the kettle, which means that little space is lost in the kettle.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. It is: FIG. 1 a perspective illustration of a steam boiler, and FIG. 2 a partial section along the line II-II in FIG.
The steam boiler shown has a body 1 of cuboid shape, which stent on a base 2 and mainly consists of a cooking vessel 3 (see Fig. 2), a thermal insulation 4, a casing 4 'and an electrical heating device (not shown). A drain cock is denoted by 5 and a control panel is denoted by 6, although the switches, measuring and regulating devices attached to it are not shown.
A cover 7, which is articulated to the body 1 by means of non-visible hinges located on its rear side, is provided with a handle 8 and with a safety and steam release valve 9. The cover 7 consists mainly of sheet metal cladding 10 and thermal insulation 11 contained therein.
On the lower side of the sheet metal cladding 10, the same forms a groove 12 which extends along the entire periphery of the lid and in which the upper part of a seal 13 is held, which serves to seal the cooking vessel 3. The seal 13 has. their side opposite the groove 12 one
