Diaprojektor

Slide projector
The invention relates to a slide projector, the objective of which is provided with a variable aperture.
It is often desirable in slide projectors to compensate for the differences in brightness in the various slides to be projected by means of a light attenuation device, in particular in the form of filters or iris diaphragms, accommodated in the beam path of the projector. With such an arrangement, a uniform light intensity of the projected image should be achieved during projection even with differently or incorrectly exposed slides.
In the known arrangements, either the iris diaphragm was arranged at a point in the lens at which it not only reduced the brightness but also reduced the field of view, or, as is usual with taking lenses. housed at the point of the strongest constriction of the beam path. The second possibility, however, has the serious disadvantage that there is considerable heat build-up, especially when the aperture is closed quite far, because the lamp filament is sharply imaged at this point in the lens via the condenser system and the rear element of the lens.
In many known projectors, the objective is also inserted into the housing of the projector so that a diaphragm adjuster can only be attached to the objective mount body with difficulty and is accessible from the outside.
Finally, it is desirable to use lenses of different focal lengths in the projector in order to be able to compensate for different distances between the projector and the projection screen. It would be impractical to assign a separate iris diaphragm to each projection objective, which would then only have to be connected to the diaphragm adjuster on the housing side via additional gear parts and coupling means. The assignment of individual diaphragms in the various lenses creates difficulties in particular when an automatic control is to be provided for the brightness-regulating diaphragm as a function of the density of the slide to be projected. In this case, coupling means must be provided which connect to the aperture of the individual lens when the respective interchangeable lens is used.
Such coupling means have the disadvantage that they require additional adjusting motors due to their play and the effort required for their adjustment. In addition, such detachable coupling means are known to be complicated and prone to failure.

sharp image of the helix, arrangement of the iris diaphragm at a point where it does not have the effect of narrowing the field of view, and creation of the possibility of using interchangeable lenses without separate iris diaphragms assigned to the individual lenses, in a simple and advantageous manner.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the diaphragm is accommodated in a special mount body which is separate from the lens mount body and which is mounted so that it can be moved longitudinally in the housing of the projector are provided through which the re-

and adjust the image drawn on the projection screen to your liking. The diaphragm blades 12 can also be connected directly or via further gear parts to a moving-coil measuring instrument and controlled by this directly, as is already known in the case of narrow-film cameras.
In this case, the control motor and the gear arrangement consisting of the pinions 36, the ring gear 35 and the diaphragm adjuster 18 can be omitted.
The control of the diaphragm can, however, also take place by switching cams or the like, which are attached to the frame of the individual slides and whose position is determined by the density of the slide.
These switching cams can then directly influence the setting position of the diaphragm through further mechanical transmission means.
When the diaphragm is adjusted by a servomotor similar to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, the motor can also be switched by a contact rail attached to the individual slide, the individual contact rails having different lengths. In this way, the contact duration and the adjustment time of the diaphragm are determined directly by the individual slide and thus the setting position of the diaphragm depending on the density of the slide.
The invention can also be applied to cinematographic projectors.
