Vulkanisierform

Vulcanizing mold
When producing footwear, it is considerably more advantageous in terms of cost to vulcanize the outsole onto the upper than to sew it on. This is especially true for slippers, children's shoes and other light footwear. On the other hand, the vulcanization of the sole poses a certain problem if you want to fully achieve the advantages that result from the elimination of the usual floor work and if you want to ensure perfect durability.
The most important point in the vulcanization of soles is the vulcanization mold and the invention relates to such, u. between vulcanizing an outsole that has been pre-punched or cut to its final size by means of a propellant rubber, in particular foam rubber mixture, which forms a midsole after the vulcanization process, onto the shoe upper. The form consists of a sole plate and a form frame. According to the invention, the inner surface of the frame now consists of
EMI1.1
subsequent part that tightly encloses the outsole and is perpendicular or approximately perpendicular to the sole plate, the thickness of the latter being smaller than the thickness of the outsole.
This vulcanization mold has the advantage that when a pre-punched finished outsole and a midsole propellant rubber mixture are used, any expulsion of the propellant rubber during the vulcanization process between the mold frame and the sole plate is prevented. Also, since the midsole rubber surrounds the outsole only in its upper part, premature wear of the same and furthermore loosening of the outsole is avoided. Post-processing of the sole is also unnecessary.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the form according to the invention is shown in section.
A frame b is arranged on a soleplate a, which has a rounded profile on the inside, which ends in a sealing nose b1 at the top, while an edge b2 perpendicular to the soleplate adjoins it at the bottom. This edge b2 encloses an outsole c lying on the sole plate a approximately in the lower half of the thickness of the same (it can also be 2/3), while its upper half is surrounded by a foam rubber mixture d which is filled into the mold. With e is an insulating layer made of felt, with f the insole, with g the upper and with h the last.
