Switch lock for electrical switchgear
The invention relates to a switch lock for electrical switching devices, in particular residual current or fault voltage circuit breakers, in which a spring-loaded release lever latched in the rest position releases the latching of the closing plunger after a release device has responded, thereby causing the contact to separate.
As is known, in electrical switching devices with, for example, electromagnetic or thermal release, the problem to be solved is to use the often only small release energy available to unlatch mechanical release elements. Attempts have been made to solve this problem by means of mechanically oversensitive and therefore susceptible to failure release devices or by using electromagnetically or electronically acting reinforcing members. If amplification devices can be dispensed with in switching devices with electromagnetic or thermal tripping devices, the use of amplification elements in the so-called residual current circuit breakers, for example, is usually unavoidable.
In the case of the last-mentioned switching devices, there is a requirement that tripping must take place at tripping currents of a few amps up to fractions of an amp in order not to endanger human life. However, both the oversensitive setting of the triggering device and the use of reinforcing members have disadvantages which either lead to switching devices that cannot be used in operation or make them considerably more expensive.
The invention shows a way which shows that, through a suitable design of the switch lock, even small trigger energies that are available lead to switching devices which can be used in practice and in which the aforementioned disadvantages can be avoided. This is achieved according to the invention in that the release lever is mounted approximately in the middle and the spring force comes from a resilient member which is mounted on the release lever and at a fixed point in such a way that the bearing points of the release lever and the resilient member are approximately on a straight line and As a result of the bias of the resilient member, the relatively small torque exerted by it on the lever at the start of the release process increases sharply as the angle of rotation of the release lever increases.
According to one feature of the invention, the switch-on plunger of the switching device is provided with a nose which is latched onto a pawl in the switched-on state, and is also equipped with a return arm for the release lever.
Further features of the invention consist in that fixed stops are provided to limit the movements of the release device both for the armature and for the release lever and the switch-on plunger and that the resilient member is designed as a torsion spring.
The main advantage of the release device according to the invention is that a reinforcing element which inevitably increases the cost of the switching device is not required. It is also advantageous that the tripping mechanism is returned to the standby position at the same time as the device is switched off, so that when the system is switched on again, a new tripping process can take place without delay.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment which is shown in the drawing. 1 shows the switch lock in a schematic representation and FIG. 2 in connection with a part of the switch lock shows the dependence of the torque on the angle of rotation in the form of a diagram.

1 designates an electromagnet, the armature 2 of which is rotatably mounted on a leg 3.
A release lever 4 works together with the armature 2 and is latched to it at 5 in normal operation. The lever 4 is rotatably held in the bearing 6 and is under the influence of a torsion spring 7, one leg 8 of which is fastened in a stationary bearing block 9 and the free leg 10 of which engages the lever 4 at 11.
The switch-on tappet 12 is slidably mounted in the walls 13 and 14. One end of the plunger carries the switch-on push button 15, while the other end between the contact compression spring 16 and the switch-off spring 17 receives the contact bridge 18. The movable contacts work together with the fixed contact pieces 19. The plunger is also provided with a nose 20 which, in the switched-on state, latches on a pawl 21 which is under the influence of the spring 22. The plunger 12 also has a return arm 23. Fixed stops 24-26 are provided to limit the paths of the anchor 2, the release lever 4 and the switch-on plunger 12.
The mode of operation is as follows: If the electromagnet 1 is excited, the core attracts the armature 2, which releases the release lever 4. The torque that the spring 7 exerts on the release lever is very small at the start of the release movement, since the bearing points 6, 9, 11 are approximately on a straight line. With an increasing angle of rotation of the release lever, there is a constant increase in the torque, since the connecting line of points 6 and 11 is constantly moving away from the stationary bearing 9. The spring 7 is pretensioned to such an extent that the slight change in path associated with it only causes an imperceptible weakening of the spring force, i.e. H. the torque increases steeply with decreasing spring force.
When the lever 4 strikes the pawl 21 at the end of its travel, its energy is so great that the pawl 20, 21 is definitely released. As a result, the nose 20 of the switch-on plunger 12 is free, which is then brought into the switch-off position by the spring 17. At the same time, the return arm 23 of the closing plunger moves over the stationary bearing 6 and rotates the release lever 4 back so far that it can be latched to the armature 2 again. The spring 7 is also tensioned for a new release. If the plunger 12 is now brought back into the switched-on position, it is locked by the nose 20 and the pawl 21, the latching between the armature 2 and the release lever 4 remaining in place. A new triggering can be initiated by energizing the electromagnet 1.
2 again shows, in an enlarged representation, the arrangement of the bearing points 9, 6 and 11 on the release lever 4 and shows how the torque increases sharply with the increasing angle of rotation after armature 2 and release lever 4 have been unlatched.
The release device according to the invention can be used in all switching devices in which the low release energy available previously required the installation of a reinforcing member.
It should also be mentioned that the release can be carried out not only by electromagnetic release, but by any other release device.
A leaf spring, for example, can also be provided instead of the torsion spring engaging on the release lever. In particular and with great advantage, this device is suitable for residual current and residual voltage circuit breakers.
