Vierzylindrige Zweitaktbreimkraftmaschine.

Four-cylinder two-stroke pneumatic engine.
The invention relates to a four-cylinder two-stroke internal combustion engine with two cylinder pairs each having a common combustion chamber and consists in a certain arrangement of the cylinders against each other in combination with such a piston movement and its transmission to the crankshaft that the piston rods swing out as little as possible relative to the axes of the associated cylinders, so that the piston friction and the friction on the piston pin are reduced to a minimum and thus the performance of the machine is increased.
The drawing representing an embodiment shows in FIGS. 1 and 2 two mutually perpendicular

The two cylinder pairs K, L and M, N are arranged in such a way that the planes laid by the cylinder axes of K, L on the one hand and M, N on the other hand are in the form of an inverted V to one another. The two pistons 12 of each cylinder pair are in the same direction, work offset by 1800 to the pistons of the other cylinder pair and act by means of the piston rods 9, which are articulated on the sector-shaped piston pin H, which has a knife-edge bearing 10, on the pins 8 of two together through one Screw 6 rigidly connected cradles 3, which are guided in the gear housing 14, mounted in the bearings 7 and converted their oscillating motion into a rotary motion of the single-cranked crankshaft 1 by means of the pin 13 and the connecting rod 2.
The housing has removable covers 4 and recesses 5 for the cradles and their pins 13.
When the pistons move upwards, air or mixture is sucked through a channel 15 into the space 16 under the piston and when they move downwards this charge is compressed and pushed into a line 17, from where it is fed through a valve 18 actuated by a controller 20 into a pair of cylinders common combustion chamber 19 arrives. The exhaust occurs through the slots 21 and the lines 22.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, with the appropriate arrangement and dimensions of the cradles and with an appropriate selection of the angle of inclination of the cylinder pairs, the piston rods become very little
