Abstract

Un cojinete magnético pasivo (PMB) mejorado para máquinas giratorias y en donde las máquinas giratorias que integran el cojinete están configuradas para contrarrestar las fuerzas dimensionales de tres estados que se aplican sobre ellas cuando se colocan en un entorno de funcionamiento que tiene fuerzas externas. El PMB mejorado incluye un primer elemento del anillo que tiene una matriz Halbach. Un segundo elemento del anillo tiene una primera y segunda matriz Halbach que se extienden angularmente sobre las regiones respectivas del segundo anillo. La interacción magnética de la matriz Halbach del primer anillo con la primera y segunda matriz Halbach del segundo anillo, cuando los anillos están posicionados uno en relación con el otro dentro de un rango de funcionamiento axial, define una curva de fuerza combinada. Esta curva puede tener un componente axial que coincide con una curva de fuerza axial objetivo predeterminada y un componente radial que coincide con una fuerza radial objetivo predeterminada. Uno o más cojinetes magnéticos pasivos se pueden integrar en turbinas productoras de energía, en donde el componente axial de la fuerza contrarresta la fuerza de flujo en una dirección de generación del par de fuerzas y el componente radial contrarresta las fuerzas gravitacionales.
