Abstract
Un proceso para la remoción de cationes divalentes, tales como calcio y magnesio, de una solución acuosa salina, tal como una salmuera natural que comprende litio, usando una celda electrolítica que comprende al menos una membrana de intercambio aniónico. El proceso permite remover los componentes no deseados antes de la recuperación de litio, reduciendo sus concentraciones por debajo del 0,1% de su concentración original en la salmuera, mientras que la concentración de litio permanece inalterada.
