Abstract

Célula de levadura modificada genéticamente que comprende: a) la eliminación o alteración de una o más secuencias de nucleótidos seleccionadas del grupo que consiste en GPD1, GPD2, GPP1 y GPP2 y b) la presencia de una o más secuencias de nucleótidos heterólogos que codifica para una acetaldehído deshidrogenasa acetilante dependiente de NAD⁺ (E.C. 1.2.1.10.), en donde la célula de levadura tiene una osmotolerancia de 0,5 OsM o más. Reivindicación 16: Proceso para preparar un producto de fermentación, caracterizado porque comprende preparar un producto de fermentación a partir de acetato y a partir de un hidrato de carbono fermentable -en particular un hidrato de carbono seleccionado del grupo que consiste en glucosa, fructosa, sacarosa, maltosa, xilosa, arabinosa, galactosa y manosa en donde dicha preparación se realiza bajo condiciones anaeróbicas usando una célula de levadura, de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 - 9 o la reivindicación 14.
