Abstract
Se proporcionan métodos y aparatos para una seleccion de una combinacion mejorada de formatos de transporte (E-TFC) que soporta un tamano flexible de la unidad de datos de paquete (PDU) del control de radio enlace (RLC) y segmentacion de las capas del control de acceso a los medios (MAC). Métodos para llenar una unidad de datos por paquetes (PDU) del control de acceso a los medios mejorado (MAC-e) con datos de canales logicos como parte de la seleccion de la E-TFC. En una la implementacion física, el algoritmo de seleccion de la E-TFC emplea una sola solicitud de la capa MAC a la capa RLC para solicitar el numero de bits que le está permitido enviar para un canal logico a fin de crear PDUs del Mac-e. En otra implementacion física, la entidad del MAC lleva a cabo multiples solicitudes a la entidad RLC. En otra implementacion física, la entidad del MAC hace una sola solicitud para la entidad RLC para crear una o más PDUs del Mac-e de un tamano determinado. También se proporciona una técnica para mantener una velocidad en bits garantizada (GBR) para flujos de datos no programados con encabezados de longitud variable.
