Abstract

Se describe un proceso para la obtencion de etanol combustible utilizando residuos agrícolas y agro-industriales de composicion lignocelulosica, en particular el bazo de cano de azucar. Estos residuos tienen un contenido notable de carbohidratos, en formar de polisacáridos (celulosa y hemicelulosa), capaces de ser sometidos a procesos de hidrolisis blanda con ácido sulfurico, y el material solido resultante de esta hidrolisis es sometido a proceso de sacarificacion (hidrolisis enzimática) simultánea a la fermentacion alcoholica rápida, en condiciones tales que permiten aumentar significativamente la conversion de etanol en mucho menor tiempo.
