Abstract

Se describen un dispositivo, un portador de grabación y método para grabar información en una pista del portador de grabación. El portador de grabación contiene un área de información del disco con información acerca del portador de grabación, tal como por ejemplo, una estrategia de escritura para aquel portador de grabación. El dispositivo tiene medios de lectura de información del disco para leer el área de información del disco. El área de información de disco también contiene bloques de información extendida. El bloque de información extendida tiene un número de versión de bloque y parámetros adicionales. El número de versión de bloque define como se han de interpretar los parámetros adicionales. De esta forma se realiza un sistema de compatibilidad hacia atrás más flexible. Los accionadores que pueden interpretar los parámetros adicionales de un bloque de información extendida pueden elegir usar los parámetros adicionales en aquel bloque. Los accionadores más antiguos usan otros bloques o caen a la primera parte básica del área de información del disco.
