Abstract

Un dispositivo biomédico, que comprende: (a) un material de nucleo que tiene una pluralidad dispersa de cargas transitorias o permanentes sobre ocerca de la superficie del material, en donde el material de nucleo tiene una densidad de cargasu perficial relativamente baja; (b) un recubrimientosuperficial que incluye un material poli-ionico que se enlaza al material de nucleo. Un métodopreferido involucra recubrir por rociado un material policationico sobre un lente de nucleo, enjuagar y secar el lente, seguido por unrecubrimi entorociado de un material polianionico, enjuagar y secar. El proceso de recubrimiento se puede aplicar una pluralidad de veces para lograr unrecubrimiento de multiples capas sobre la superficie del lente.
