[0001] The present description refers to the development of an ergonomically inclusive self-checkout station, useful for implementation in libraries or any similar facility. The self-loan station is designed to facilitate the entire self-service process of its users, from beginning to end, while maintaining comprehensive and reliable management of the catalog of items or objects that are part of the library.
ANTECEDENTES BACKGROUND
[0002] Currently, there are some self-checkout station solutions for libraries, such as the one described in publication US6369709B 1. Said publication refers to a terminal or station for libraries that allows a user to execute a checkout transaction on their own. , without assistance. The station described in US6369709B1 comprises an object receiving area with a desensitizer, a code reader and a controller, delivering instructions to guide the user in the loan transaction and providing feedback when an object is in an incorrect position in a receiving area. objects. Additionally, the station described in US6369709B1 allows the registration of objects in circulation, storing data on the status of the items or objects in a library management system.
[0003] In this context, although the solution described in US6369709B1 allows providing a self-loan service to library users, incorporating the necessary components for the loan management of an object, from user identification to alarm deactivation (desensitization) and registration of borrowed objects, presents various drawbacks such as the following. a) It lacks a user interface specially designed to facilitate the entire self-service process since it does not allow the user to directly and easily verify whether the self-loan transaction has been completed successfully, nor does it allow the user to simply check whether the object borrowed is ready to be removed from the premises at the same self-loan station. b) It lacks an ergonomically inclusive design that adapts to the physical or mobility characteristics of different users, preventing the operation of the same station by different users, regardless of their height or whether they are in a wheelchair. c) It makes the desensitization or deactivation of objects with a security marker difficult, having an object reception area that requires the location of the objects in a specific position for the correct operation of the sensitizer. d) It hinders the general operation of the library by requiring that objects contain identification codes in a specific position, with respect to a security marker that is also provided on the object. [0004] Consequently, the self-loan station developed seeks to solve the problems previously raised, providing a user interface that favors and simplifies the entire self-service process, incorporating mechanisms for users to verify that a self-loan transaction has been completed successfully. Furthermore, the user interface of the self-checkout station developed not only simplifies the operation of the station as a result of its versatility, adapting to any configuration of objects or items in the library, but also presents a structural design that adapts to facilitate access. of different users, presenting an ergonomically inclusive structure.

[0007] On the other hand, the verification device of the self-service station comprises a verification surface located near the sliding surface of the desensitizing module. Said verification surface is arranged so that the user positions the book or object on the verification surface, so that the at least one security marker reader of the verification device checks whether the security marker of the identified object is in an activated state or disabled. Furthermore, the verification device emits a signal related to the state of the security marker, allowing the user to become aware of the status of the security marker and, if the sensitization signal was not effective, to take corresponding actions, for example, perform a new slide. of the object on the sliding surface of the desensitizing module. As noted above, said support can provide at least one axis of rotation, preferably a horizontal axis that allows the screen to be tilted up and down, favoring directing the screen towards the view of users of different heights. Alternatively, pivoting screen mounts (5d) with more axes of rotation are possible, increasing the capabilities of the screen to adapt to different users of the station.
[0030] Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 show the lower support body (3) in two modalities. Fig. 8 shows said lower support body (3) with its essential components, a base (3a) and a pillar (3b). It is possible to see that the pillar (3b) is arranged off-center in the base (3), this to facilitate access for a wheelchair through one of the sides of the lower support body (3). Instead, Fig. 9 shows the same lower support body (3) of Fig. 8 but with a pillar cover (3c), arranged mainly to improve the appearance of the self-service station. Said pillar cover (3c) can also provide a support function on the table (4), by presenting a cross section that increases its area towards the lower edge of said table (4), increasing the support area. Fig. 9 also shows that the table (4) comprises a housing for the verification device (4a), presented as a recess specially designed to house the verification device.
LISTADO DE REFERENCIAS [0031] Finally, Fig. 10 and Fig. 9 are presented as a reference to show that the self-service station (1) can be used by users of different heights, even favoring access for users in wheelchairs. so that the lower components of the station, such as the base and the pillar, do not block the passage of the wheelchair and thus allow the user to approach the station. As can be verified from the figures, in Fig. 10 the screen (6) is inclined upward to facilitate interaction with a taller user, while in Fig. 11 the screen (6) is inclined towards below, for interaction with a shorter user or a user in a wheelchair, allowing the screen and touch interface to be within reach of the user's hands, as well as the rest of the station components that require interaction .
