As such, fluid is prevented from being absorbed by the interlaced layer 23, thus, preventing water, fuel and the like from compromising the ability of the sleeve 10 to provide the desired levels of protection.
  • the silicone-based layer 26 can be provided as a high density silicon to achieve increased mechanical, electrical and impact protection. Further yet, the silicone-based layer 26 can include at least one or both of a flame retardant and a heat stabilizer, and can be provided being flame resistant and selfextinguishing if exposed to flame.
  • the silicone-based layer 26 can be provided having a thickness between about 0.1-3.0mm, by way of example and without limitation, thereby contributing to the wall 12 having a radially narrow, low profile, thereby enhancing the flexibility and ability to be routed in relatively small, tight spaces.

Abstract

Un manchon textile pour acheminer et protéger un élément allongé présente une paroi enroulable comprenant une couche textile ayant une surface interne et une surface externe opposée s'étendant dans le sens de la longueur entre des extrémités opposées et dans le sens de la largeur entre des bords opposés. Les bords opposés sont configurés pour être enroulés autour d'un axe longitudinal central pour délimiter une cavité centrale s'étendant dans le sens de la longueur le long de l'axe longitudinal central entre les extrémités opposées. La couche textile est formée de fils entrelacés les uns avec les autres, au moins certains des fils comprenant un ou plusieurs fils métalliques. Une couche à base de silicone est disposée autour de la surface externe de la couche textile pour conférer une résistance à la chaleur, une protection diélectrique et une résistance aux chocs améliorées.
