Abstract

The invention provides the possibility to efficiently detect the presence of distributed computing nodes in a decentralized manner. An estimation of their relative positions to a trusted scanning computing node is further provided. The network discovery that is enabled by embodiments of the invention allows to generate self-organisation structures among distributed computing nodes evolving in cell-free communication systems, to establish mobility patterns of computing nodes, and to plan the distribution of additional computing nodes and network resources if required. The proposed method is particularly useful in 5G or future 6G network architecture, wherein high-precision beamforming and decentralized communications are supported.
