Definitions
- the present invention relates to a herbal composition which comprises of herbals and herbal-spices that are native to South Asia, especially to Sri Lanka. It is to provide complete cure to diabetes and high cholesterol in the human body addressing various complications and imbalances in the human body.
- the herbal composition can be used to prevent such conditions by taking them as a food supplement.
- Diabetes is caused due to lack of insulin in to the blood stream or inhibiting of insulin reaction by some other chemical reactions in the body which leads in failing to control sugar level in the blood stream.
- High sugar level in the blood stream causes damages to the various organs in the human body including damages to the nerves and blood vessels.
- type 1 and type 2 diabetes identified lack of insulin in to the blood stream to deal with glucose from carbohydrate. It is identified for long time that the type 1 diabetes is associated with the family history. It is found basically that immunity system which generally fight and kills bacteria and viruses that are harmful to the human body mistakenly destroys the beta cells that produce insulin in the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. Type 2 on the other hand causing slow death beta cells of the islets of pancreas or any inhibiting conditions caused within the human body on the reactions of insulin.
- High cholesterol is referred to the increase of Law Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and decrease in the High Density Lipoprotein (HDL).
- High cholesterol may leads to fatty deposits (LDL deposits) in blood vessels, which may lead to heart attacks and strokes. When the blood vessels are impeded in bringing oxygen and other nutrients to organs, cells in the body, they starts to malpractice. This leads to the unbalance of various systems in the human body.
- High glucose/sugar level in the blood stream is the main root in the diabetes of both type 1 and type 2, which are so linked with high cholesterol level in the blood stream.
- High blood sugar promotes the LDL which is the bad cholesterol and lowers the good/ healthy cholesterol HDL.
- some researches reveals that the high calory intake and lack of exercises cause triglyceride formation, which then break down to free fatty acid to absorb in to the cells. The free fatty acid inhibits the insulin reactions and causes rising blood sugar levels.
- Insulin is the key to open doors in the cells of the human body. Insulin is produced by the beta cells of islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. In type 1 diabetes insulin is not produced and in type 2 it is not enough production of the hormone, inhibition is found with the patients.
- the proposed herbal composition is targeting the reverse the beta cells back to active production to produce enough insulin. Another object of the formulation is guaranteed the balance of chemical reaction in the digestive system to prevent any inhibiting activities by other chemical forms in the human body.
- cholesterol in the human body is of two kinds, good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. If bad cholesterol or LDL is high in blood, it will make deposits or plaques in the blood vessels causing them thin which blocks the transport of oxygen and nutrients. This prevents the flow freely and causing heart deceases and stroke. Good cholesterol or HDL absorbs cholesterol and caries to the lever where they get flushed. Since these two health conditions, high blood sugar and high cholesterol are so linked, the proposed herbal formulation is prepared to clean the blood vessels and cure any damages in the blood vessels, cells in the human body and reactivating organs due to lack of oxygen and nutrients to those organs.
- the claimed herbal composition is a mix of traditional medicine and a well-known herbal spice, the risk of any side effect is not reported.
- the proposed formulation therefore recommended to intake as a food supplement for those who are affected with conditions discussed above and also for healthy people to keep them healthy.
- the herbal formulation contains Plumbago Zelanica (White leadwort or “Elanithul” in Sinhalese language), Momordica Charantia a variety in bitter gourd, Ceylon cinnamon leaves and Ceylon cinnamon bark.
- Plumbago Zeylanica Boost immunity, stimulating digestive system and skin disorders with anti-cancer property.
- plumbago zeylanica provide plumbagin to clean capillary system to activate blocked or damaged beta cells in the islets of langerhan in the pancreas. It also boosts the immunity whilst lowering blood sugar level by assisting digestive system. Catechins and epicatechins in bitter gourd is regulating this cleaning process.
- Cinnamon leaves contains lot of nutrients and eugenol. It promotes the growth of healthy bacteria in upper gastrointestinal tract that aid in digestion, as well as strengthens immune system to fight against potentially harmful bacteria in blood stream that may cause sickness or infection.
- Eugenol makes the stomach a cool place with reducing gastrointestinal distresses.
- Cinnamaldehyde having the properties of stimulating insulin and lowering blood sugar levels whist cleaning the blood vessels. The combination of these herbs and spice made the composition active against diabetes and high cholesterol in the human body. Vitamin A and C found in Momordica charantia is helping the immune system correct disorders in the body.
- the main treatment is taking place at the pancreas where producing insulin is taking back to the normalcy.
- insulin level is normal the balance in the blood stream is achieved and cleaning of blood vessels becomes easier.
- Combination of chemicals in this compound provide necessary cleaning, repair in the relevant organs and curing diabetes conditions of the human body while lowering high cholesterol level. Since this is curing the conditions, intake of herbal composition or any other medicine for long time is not required.
- Plumbago Zeylanica such as boosting immunity, stimulating digestive system and skin disorders.
- the main object of this medical combination is to activate beta cells in Langerhans and boost the immunity.
- Lowering blood sugar level by assisting digestive system is another objective with plumbago zeylanica.
- Plumbagin is the main chemical compound in plumbago zeylanica. Plumbagin also reported with lowering high cholesterol levels in the human body, this is the usage of

- type 1 is so much with family history and type 2 mostly due to above reason.
- insulin production is not enough to mitigate sugar level in the blood stream.
- glucose a sugar that is a primary source of energy in the body.
- Glucose then enters in to the blood stream.
- Insulin provided by the pancreas help glucose to cells to provide energy.
- Excess glucose when the insulin level is high are stored in kidney as glycogen and released as glucose when the insulin level is low in the blood stream.
- blood sugar level continue to rise and if untreated will damage nerves, cause blindness and kidney damage etc... (Hyperglycemia - StatPearls - NCBI Bookshelf (nih.gov) )
- Beta cells the most of the cells produce insulin where alpha cells to produce glucagon and delta cells to produce somatostatin.
- Capillaries in the Langerhans may be blocked due to plaques in the blood vessels and may not deliver oxygen and nutrients to the cells. Since most of the cells are beta cells, required amount of insulin will not be produced in the beta cells where some of the cells may unable to work due to blocked capillaries. If the beta cells are damaged more than 80-90%, we call the diabetes of type 1 as the production of insulin is almost zero.
- the western medicine is mostly trying to make working good beta cells, make them work hard to produce more insulin. This will work for some time, but those cells are to be died in some time work, since it is working over capacity due to the medicine intake. So the dose of the drug has to be increased from time to time and later outside intake of insulin is the only solution for the patient.
- the plumbago zeylanica specially plumbagin is to engage in this vessel cleaning at the initial stage.
- Regularity is the important factor in the human body, specially in the digestion and energy absorption process. This ensures the curing of non-transferable deceases in the human body.
- the herbal composition is introduced after several years of experiments on reactivating dead beta cells in islets of Langerhans in the pancreas while regulating the immunity and other controlling systems in the digestive system. Accordingly the mixture of plumbago zeylanica, Momordica charantia, Cinnamon leaves and Cinnamon bark is effective in the ratio of White Plumbago Zeylanica 75 to 90 % by w/w; Momordica Charantia 4 to 8% by w/w;Ceylon Cinnamon leaves 5 to 10% by w/w; and Ceylon Cinnamon bark particles 2 to 6% by w/w.

Description
The present invention relates to a herbal composition which comprises of herbals and herbal-spices that are native to South Asia, especially to Sri Lanka. It is to provide complete cure to diabetes and high cholesterol in the human body addressing various complications and imbalances in the human body. The herbal composition can be used to prevent such conditions by taking them as a food supplement.
Diabetes is caused due to lack of insulin in to the blood stream or inhibiting of insulin reaction by some other chemical reactions in the body which leads in failing to control sugar level in the blood stream. High sugar level in the blood stream causes damages to the various organs in the human body including damages to the nerves and blood vessels. Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes identified lack of insulin in to the blood stream to deal with glucose from carbohydrate.
High cholesterol is referred to the increase of Law Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and decrease in the High Density Lipoprotein (HDL). High cholesterol may leads to fatty deposits (LDL deposits) in blood vessels, which may lead to heart attacks and strokes. When the blood vessels are impeded in bringing oxygen and other nutrients to organs, cells in the body, they starts to malpractice. This leads to the unbalance of various systems in the human body.
High glucose/sugar level in the blood stream is the main root in the diabetes of both type 1 and type 2, which are so linked with high cholesterol level in the blood stream. High blood sugar promotes the LDL which is the bad cholesterol and lowers the good/ healthy cholesterol HDL. On the other hand, some researches reveals that the high calory intake and lack of exercises cause triglyceride formation, which then break down to free fatty acid to absorb in to the cells. The free fatty acid inhibits the insulin reactions and causes rising blood sugar levels.
High blood sugar leads to various life-threatening health conditions. Kidney failure owing to uncontrolled diabetes amounted the most mortalities within patients with diabetes. Blindness, limb amputation and heart decease are other life-threatening conditions which may cause due to diabetes. The high blood sugar cause acidity in the blood stream and silently damaging nerves system. Bad cholesterol on the other hand making barricade for blood circulation causing slowly inoperative of organs and heart attacks to the patients.
Since the diabetes and high cholesterol are life threatening non-transferable diseases, long known herbal medicines are considered best treatment method to use with these diseases. Known herbal plants are the main source of the ingredients of this herbal composition. Side effects are considered minimal or absent.
The risk with the diabetes and cholesterol is high. Thus lot of researches are going on in the world to cure these deceases completely. Various types of western medicines are available to control blood sugar, which in most cases controls the blood glucose level in the blood stream. Insulin is the key to open doors in the cells of the human body. Insulin is produced by the beta cells of islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. In type 1 diabetes insulin is not produced and in type 2 it is not enough production of the hormone, inhibition is found with the patients. The proposed herbal composition is targeting the reverse the beta cells back to active production to produce enough insulin. Another object of the formulation is guaranteed the balance of chemical reaction in the digestive system to prevent any inhibiting activities by other chemical forms in the human body.
As given above, cholesterol in the human body is of two kinds, good cholesterol and bad cholesterol.
Since the claimed herbal composition is a mix of traditional medicine and a well-known herbal spice, the risk of any side effect is not reported. The proposed formulation therefore recommended to intake as a food supplement for those who are affected with conditions discussed above and also for healthy people to keep them healthy. The herbal formulation contains Plumbago Zelanica (White leadwort or “Elanithul” in Sinhalese language), Momordica Charantia a variety in bitter gourd, Ceylon cinnamon leaves and Ceylon cinnamon bark.
Available medicines to treat diabetes and high cholesterol level are reported side effects and are causing various health issues to the human body. On the other hand, there is no cure for diabetes, but only controlling where the danger is around. Low blood sugar or hypoglycemia is a condition with high mortality rate one of such around. Some medicines have to be closely monitored as they may leads to some other complications such as low sugar level as given before, damaging organs etc… Beta cells of the islets of Langerhans are failed to produce insulin due to lack of necessary nutrients and oxygen to the cells. Some compounds like free fatty acids also inhibit the insulin reacting on the blood stream effectively. When capillary system is blocked, it must be cleaned first to address uncontrolled blood sugar level. Non of the available medicines capable of treating this issue and therefore it is norm that the diabetes cannot be healed but control only. High cholesterol is addressed with some medicines but the side effects are around. It is difficult to maintain balanced system with proper insulin while addressing the cholesterol level. Accordingly a medicine without side effects to regulate proper blood sugar level and cholesterol level is required.
Combination of White Plumbago (named as Plumbago Zelanica or leadwort), Momordica Charantia ( “Batu Karavila” in Sinhalese or Bitter gourd), Cinnamon leaves and Cinnamon powder. According to the planet ayurweda there are many uses of Plumbago Zeylanica such as boosting immunity, stimulating digestive system and skin disorders with anti-cancer property. In this medical combination plumbago zeylanica provide plumbagin to clean capillary system to activate blocked or damaged beta cells in the islets of langerhan in the pancreas. It also boosts the immunity whilst lowering blood sugar level by assisting digestive system. Catechins and epicatechins in bitter gourd is regulating this cleaning process. Apart from the vitamins and minerals with bitter gourd, it is a good source of catechin, garlic acid and epicatechin and chlorogenic acid which are antioxidants to protect cells from damage. Cinnamon leaves contains lot of nutrients and eugenol. It promotes the growth of healthy bacteria in upper gastrointestinal tract that aid in digestion, as well as strengthens immune system to fight against potentially harmful bacteria in blood stream that may cause sickness or infection. Eugenol makes the stomach a cool place with reducing gastrointestinal distresses. Cinnamaldehyde having the properties of stimulating insulin and lowering blood sugar levels whist cleaning the blood vessels. The combination of these herbs and spice made the composition active against diabetes and high cholesterol in the human body. Vitamin A and C found in Momordica charantia is helping the immune system correct disorders in the body. The main treatment is taking place at the pancreas where producing insulin is taking back to the normalcy. When the insulin level is normal the balance in the blood stream is achieved and cleaning of blood vessels becomes easier. Combination of chemicals in this compound provide necessary cleaning, repair in the relevant organs and curing diabetes conditions of the human body while lowering high cholesterol level. Since this is curing the conditions, intake of herbal composition or any other medicine for long time is not required.
There are many uses of Plumbago Zeylanica such as boosting immunity, stimulating digestive system and skin disorders. The main object of this medical combination is to activate beta cells in Langerhans and boost the immunity. Lowering blood sugar level by assisting digestive system is another objective with plumbago zeylanica. When the beta cells are active enough insulin will be released to the blood stream to control the sugar level. Plumbagin is the main chemical compound in plumbago zeylanica. Plumbagin also reported with lowering high cholesterol levels in the human body, this is the usage of
Vitamins and minerals with bitter gourd help in decease prevention, bone formation, wound healing, fat burning and growth in the human body. It is a good source of catechin, garlic acid and epicatechin and chlorogenic acid which are antioxidants to protect cells from damage.

The combination of plumbagin as the main chemical compound in plumbago zeylanica, vitamins and minerals and catechin and other compounds of bitter gourd (Momordica charantia variety) and eugenol and cinnamaldehyde in cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) leaf and bark powder is helping in curing diabetes and high cholesterol levels with the human. Type 1 and 2 diabetes caused lack of insulin in to the blood stream due to various disorders in the human body. The combination is made to clean cells and make activate the beta cells specially in the pancreas to produce enough insulin. It also cleans blood vessels and protecting cells from various unwanted bacteria and curing any damage caused. The herbal composition therefore considered a miracle in treating patients with diabetes and cholesterol.
High blood glucose leads to diabetes complication which ends up with several life threatening conditions. Heart failure, stroke, kidney decease, nerve damages are some of them. High cholesterol also a complex complication where bad cholesterol may cause plaques in the blood vessels, which may also leads to hear failures and strokes. High blood pressure identified is another health condition that has hand-in-hand relationship with diabetes, root cause for both are almost similar. (Diabetes Contributes to Cholesterol Metabolism Regardless of Obesity | Diabetes Care (diabetesjournals.org))
Causes for diabetes or high sugar levels in the blood stream are bad food habits, lack of exercise, obesity etc… Diabetes is of two types where type 1 is so much with family history and type 2 mostly due to above reason. In both occasions insulin production is not enough to mitigate sugar level in the blood stream. When you consume carbohydrate, it breaks down to glucose, a sugar that is a primary source of energy in the body. Glucose then enters in to the blood stream. Insulin provided by the pancreas help glucose to cells to provide energy. Excess glucose, when the insulin level is high are stored in kidney as glycogen and released as glucose when the insulin level is low in the blood stream. When there is no enough insulin, blood sugar level continue to rise and if untreated will damage nerves, cause blindness and kidney damage etc… (Hyperglycemia - StatPearls - NCBI Bookshelf (nih.gov) )
There are islets of Langerhans in the pancreas where insulin and some other hormones are produced. It is doing a vital role in balancing the chemical reactions in the human body, where insulin is controlling the sugar level of the blood stream where some other enzymes glucagon to release sugar from liver and fatty acid from fatty tissues. In turn glucose and fatty acid favour insulin and inhibit glucagon. This balance is broken when required amount of insulin is not produced in the beta cells of the pancreas. The Cells of the Islets of Langerhans (nih.gov), Unique Arrangement of α- and β-Cells in Human Islets of Langerhans (nih.gov), Islets of Langerhans - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
There are three types of cells in the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. Beta cells, the most of the cells produce insulin where alpha cells to produce glucagon and delta cells to produce somatostatin. Capillaries in the Langerhans may be blocked due to plaques in the blood vessels and may not deliver oxygen and nutrients to the cells. Since most of the cells are beta cells, required amount of insulin will not be produced in the beta cells where some of the cells may unable to work due to blocked capillaries. If the beta cells are damaged more than 80-90%, we call the diabetes of type 1 as the production of insulin is almost zero. The western medicine is mostly trying to make working good beta cells, make them work hard to produce more insulin. This will work for some time, but those cells are to be died in some time work, since it is working over capacity due to the medicine intake. So the dose of the drug has to be increased from time to time and later outside intake of insulin is the only solution for the patient.
Cleaning of plaque in the blood vessels specially capillary system has not been initialized in the treatment of diabetes and high cholesterol conditions. The plumbago zeylanica specially plumbagin is to engage in this vessel cleaning at the initial stage.
Due to high blood sugar level in the blood stream various damages may take place to the cells and organs. Antioxidants in Momordica Charantia to act on these cells to take them back to the normalcy by repairing them including beta cells in islets of Langerhans (Antiglycation and Antioxidant Properties of Momordica charantia (nih.gov)). Antibacterial effects with cinnamon leaves while making healthy bacteria remains helps the digestion system to come to normal. (Antimicrobial activity of eugenol and essential oils containing eugenol: A mechanistic viewpoint: Critical Reviews in Microbiology: Vol 43, No 6 (tandfonline.com), A comparison of essential oil constituents of bark, leaf, root and fruit of cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blum) grown in Sri Lanka (researchgate.net) )
Regularity is the important factor in the human body, specially in the digestion and energy absorption process. This ensures the curing of non-transferable deceases in the human body.
Some studies on the diabetes revealed that the type 1 diabetes caused due to the antibody reaction in the B cells which is relating to the immunity system. This is more gene based disease rather than hormone or other chemical reactions in the body (Type 1 Diabetes and Autoimmunity (nih.gov)). Though studies are focused on this matter to find out root course, the proposed herbal compound with systems balancing ingredients found capable of reversing this antibody generation and gradually activating the beta cells of the body.
Some studies on type 2 diabetes also found that co-secretion of amyloid causes in developing aggregates which contributes to death of beta cells, where the insulin secretion in takes place.( Frontiers | Islet Amyloid Polypeptide: A Partner in Crime With Aβ in the Pathology of Alzheimer's Disease | Molecular Neuroscience (frontiersin.org)). This is also due to the imbalance of chemical reactions and can be easily reversible with the claimed herbal composition. Another suggests that the Amylin and Beta amyloid contributing in the destruction. (Amylin and beta amyloid proteins interact to form amorphous heterocomplexes with enhanced toxicity in neuronal cells | Scientific Reports (nature.com))
The herbal composition is introduced after several years of experiments on reactivating dead beta cells in islets of Langerhans in the pancreas while regulating the immunity and other controlling systems in the digestive system.
When treating diabetes patients, the above composition is mixed with tea (Camelia sinensis) and some other herbals like clove, cardamom to bring the chemical composition of plumbgin, eugenol, cinnamaldehyde, epicatechin and other compounds to the pancreas, and stomach for reactions. The additional herbals and tea is used to stimulate the digestive system when the final solution is tasted in the mouth.
Second most matured leaves of Plumbago Zeylanica (White plumbago or elanithul in Sinhalese),and Cinnamon leaves are taken and withered in sun drying process to bring the moisture content to 45%. The withered leaves are chopped to have 1-3mm particles and mixed together in the pre-determined ratios.
Momordica Charantia (Bitter gourd or Batukaravila in Sinhalese) are taken and juice is extracted using squeezing technology. A solution of Momordica charantia is made using said juice by adding 20% of water. The said mixture of particles then soaked in the solution for about 15 minutes and put in to dryer for quick drying in the temperature range 50-55 Celsius for 15 minutes.
The final herbal composition is made with the addition of cinnamon bark particles sized in to 1-3mm size. The composition is then will be used alone or mixing with tea (camelia sinensis) or mixing with some other herbals as per the health conditions of the consumer category.
Considering the composition it is found that plumbagin, eugenol, cinnamaldehyde, catechin, gallic acid and antioxidant combination is vital in curing and controlling of above mentioned diseases.
Pre-diabetes or diabetes and high-cholesterol conditions are identified as life threatening. Curing diabetes considered impossible in the western medicine. The herbal composition claimed here is capable of curing diabetes by activating beta cells and lowering high-cholesterol levels in the human body. The herbal composition is applicable as food supplement or medicine in the industry.
The composition is based on various experiments that were conducted based on usages and potentials of the herbals. Active proportions were identified also in the said researches, administering with the patients who were contributed voluntarily in the experimental stage. Use of correct dosage with the correct combination in not obvious to those who are within the industry which are capable of correcting various digestive systems in the human body and activating cells and tissues with the use of them.
