- Fastener elements are available in resin and metal, with metal having high bonding strength and a luxurious appearance.
- the metal used is a copper alloy or an aluminum alloy that has been put into practical use.
- Stainless steel has a higher hardness than copper and aluminum, so it has excellent scratch resistance. However, if you try to use it for a slide fastener, it will shorten the life of the mold, etc. until it is processed into the shape of the element because it is too hard. I have a problem to say.
- stainless steel is recognized as having the property of being resistant to rust.
- rust started from the part where the element was in contact with the fastener tape (the part on the tape side of the part where the element was crimped to the fastener tape).
- the inventors of the present application have found that a new problem arises that the rust is generated and the rust permeates and spreads in the fastener tape, making the dirt conspicuous.
- a conventional slide fastener having elements made of a copper alloy is subjected to the same salt water test, the surfaces of the elements tend to corrode as a whole. In other words, the intensive rusting at the part where the element is in contact with the fastener tape was not seen with copper alloys, and was a problem peculiar to stainless steel slide fasteners.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a fastener, a method for manufacturing the same, and a sewn article with a slide fastener.
- the present invention comprises a pair of left and right fastener tapes, and a pair of element rows each composed of a plurality of fastener elements arranged to face the edges of the fastener tapes on opposite sides along the length direction of the fastener tapes.
- the slider is slidably attached to engage with the pair of element rows, wherein the fastener element is made of metal, and the fastener tape is provided with a water-repellent layer made of a water-repellent agent,
- the water-repellent agent adheres to the portion of the fastener tape that is in contact with the fastener element.
- the fastener element is preferably provided with a coating layer made of a coating agent. - a liquid agent is applied to form a water-repellent layer, and the slider is attached to the pair of fastener stringers.
- the fastener element is formed by forming a coating layer on a stainless steel element base material. At least one of the coating layer made of the coating agent and the water-repellent layer made of the water-repellent agent is formed by spraying or immersion.
- the present invention relates to a sewn slide fastener article to which the slide fastener is sewn, wherein the body portion of the sewn article to which the slide fastener is attached is made of cloth or leather not treated with a water repellent agent. Alternatively, it is a slide fastener sewn article made of synthetic leather.
- the slide fastener and its manufacturing method of the present invention can reliably suppress rusting of metal fastener elements, especially stainless steel fastener elements, and maintain a good appearance by a simple method.
- a water repellent agent to the fastener tape. This has been done in slide fasteners consisting of elements.
- the water repellent agent is used for the purpose of preventing rust from occurring at the portion where the metal element contacts the fastener tape. The idea is fundamentally different from using .
- a sewn article to which the slide fastener of the present invention is attached is less likely to rust on the metal fastener element, suppresses stains on the fastener tape due to rust, and can maintain a clean appearance for a long period of time. .
- the rust generated from the inner thigh portion of the metal element is suppressed, and the sewn article such as the bag to which the slide fastener is attached. can maintain a good appearance. From this point of view, it is assumed that the fabric to which the slide fastener of the present invention is attached does not require treatment with a water-repellent agent.

- the engagement of the left and right fastener elements 14 is achieved by moving the slider 20 upward in the drawing, which is the closing direction, so that the protrusions 30 of the fastener elements 14 on the left side of the pair of fastener stringers 18 in the drawing move to the right side.
- the recessed portion 32 of the fastener element 14 is fitted, and the convex portion 30 of the right fastener element 14 is fitted into the recessed portion 32 of the left fastener element 14, and this is continuously performed.
- the left and right fastener elements 14 are disengaged and the pair of fastener stringers 18 are disconnected.
- the surface of the fastener element 14 is subjected to coating treatment, and a coating layer 34 is provided.
- the material of the coating agent used for the coating treatment is, for example, polyvinyl-based or silicone-based polymer.
- the slide fastener 10 is washed with water after the fastener elements 14 are attached to the fastener tape 12, and then subjected to water repellent treatment.
- the material of the water repellent agent used for water repellent treatment is fluorine-based or acrylic urethane-based polymer.
- the coating layer 34 and the water-repellent layer 36 provide the fastener element 14 with an antirust effect.
- the water-repellent layer 36 prevents water from penetrating into the fastener tape 12
- Contact with water is suppressed, and the occurrence of rust on the inner peripheral surfaces of the pair of legs 26, which are prone to corrosion, is suppressed. That is, by providing the fastener stringer 18 with the water-repellent layer 36 made of a water-repellent agent, the slide fastener 10 can be prevented from rusting.
- an element base material made of stainless steel is manufactured.
- the manufacturing method is a conventionally known method. For example, a rectangular wire made of stainless steel is punched into a predetermined element shape using a cutting punch and a cutting die to manufacture an element base material. Alternatively, the element is processed into a long wire material called a Y bar having an element-shaped cross section, and the Y bar is cut to a desired thickness to produce an element base material. Note that the method for manufacturing the element base material of this embodiment is not limited to this, and an appropriate method for manufacturing the element base material can be selected.
- the polishing method is the same as the conventional one, and for example, it is put into a liquid processing container and a polishing process such as barrel polishing or chemical polishing is performed. Polishing removes burrs from the element base material and smoothens the surface.
- the coating treatment method is also the same as the conventional one.
- the element base material is put into a bucket, and the coating agent is sprayed while rotating the bucket to coat the element base material and form the coating layer 34 on the surface.
- the fastener element 14 having an antirust effect.
- it is important that the coating layer 34 is applied even to the inner peripheral surfaces of the pair of legs 26 that sandwich and hold the fastener tape 12 by spraying the coating agent while rotating the bucket.
- the fastener element 14 is planted on the fastener tape 12.
- the planting method is the same as the conventional method. For example, after the fastener elements 14 are put into the parts feeder and the posture of the fastener elements 14 is adjusted, the fastener elements 14 are applied to the edge 12a of the fastener tape 12 via the shooter. The core cord portion of the edge portion 12a is sandwiched between the pair of leg portions 26 and supplied. After that, the fastener element 14 supplied to the edge portion 12a of the fastener tape 12 is crimped using a crimping means so as to be planted to the fastener tape 12 edge portion 12a.
- the fastener tape 12 to which the fastener element 14 is attached as described above is washed with water.
- the fastener tape 12 with the fastener element 14 attached thereto is put into a water tank filled with washing liquid, and then immersed in the washing liquid and stirred.
- the washing liquid may contain an antirust agent.
- the adhering washing liquid may be removed by a suction device.
- the fastener tape 12 having the fastener elements 14 attached thereto after washing is placed in a water tank filled with a water repellent agent, immersed in the water repellent agent, and stirred. Then, the adhering water repellent agent may be removed with a suction device. As a result, a water-repellent layer 36 is formed by a water-repellent agent on the fiber surface of the fastener tape 12 and the surface of the fastener element 14, and the fastener stringer 18 having a water-repellent function is completed.
- the fastener tape 12 is immersed in the water repellent agent until the portion of the fastener tape 12 in contact with the fastener element 14 is sufficiently soaked with the water repellent agent.
- the portion of the fastener tape 12 that is in contact with the fastener element 14 is, in other words, the portion of the fastener tape 12 sandwiched between the pair of leg portions 26 of the fastener element 14 . This makes it possible to more effectively prevent the element from coming into direct contact with salt water or the like.
- the fastener stringer 18 has a water-repellent function due to the water-repellent layer 36, and in particular, the water-repellent agent adhered to the fastener tape 12 is more difficult to remove than the water-repellent agent adhered to the surface of the fastener element 14. , water does not permeate into the fastener tapes 12 even in long-term use, and the inner peripheral surfaces of the pair of leg portions 26 of the fastener element 14 for sandwiching and holding the fastener tapes 12 permeate the fastener tapes 12. Do not come into contact with soaked water. Therefore, the inner peripheral surfaces of the pair of legs 26, which are prone to corrosion, are prevented from rusting.
- the fastener stringer 18 has a rust-preventing effect on the fastener elements 14 due to the coating layer 34, and the water-repellent layer 36 prevents water from permeating into the fastener tape 12, so that the fastener element 14 has a high rust-preventing effect.
- the water-repellent layer 36 may be provided only on the fastener tape 12 .
- the assembling method is the same as that of a conventional general slide fastener.
- water repellent agents have been applied to slide fasteners in the past, but they were attached to products such as garments that were intended to be used in an environment where they would get wet with rainwater. .
- the main body of the sewn article to which the slide fastener is attached is made of cloth treated with a water-repellent agent.
- the slide fastener 10 of the embodiment of the present invention is also used for fabrics that have not been treated with a water-repellent agent for water repellency. It is very different from the water repellent slide fastener. That is, the main body of the sewn article to which the slide fastener 10 of the embodiment of the present invention is attached is made of cloth (not limited to woven fabric, but includes knitted fabric, felt, non-woven fabric, etc.) that has not been treated with a water repellent agent, , leather, and synthetic leather are very different from conventional water-repellent slide fasteners. Bags and clothes that are not intended to be used in an environment where they will get wet with rainwater, etc. In other words, even ordinary bags and clothes that are not specially waterproofed may accidentally get wet with seawater. In such a case, it is an object and effect of the present invention to suppress the generation of rust from the metal element.
- rusting of the stainless steel fastener element 14 can be reliably suppressed by a simple method, and a good appearance can be maintained.
- the surface of the fastener element 14 is provided with a coating layer 34 of a coating agent before being attached to the fastener tape 12, and has a high rust prevention effect.
- the fastener stringer 18 with the water-repellent layer 36 made of a water-repellent agent, water does not permeate the fastener tape 12, and the fastener element 14 can obtain a higher rust prevention effect.
- the water-repellent layer 36 prevents water from penetrating into the fastener tape 12 , the inner peripheral surfaces of the pair of leg portions 26 of the fastener element 14 sandwiching and holding the fastener tape 12 are impregnated with the fastener tape 12 . No contact with soaked water. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of rust on the inner peripheral surface of the leg portion 26, which is likely to corrode.
- the stainless steel slide fastener 10 can be used even for products used in an environment exposed to seawater or sea breeze. For example, even at a beach resort or on a boat trip, clothes and bags using the fastener element 14 made of stainless steel, which has a good texture, can be used outdoors.
- the fastener element 14 made of stainless steel is less likely to rust, the fastener tape 12 is prevented from staining due to rust, and a clean appearance is maintained for a long period of time. can do. Furthermore, even when used on the beach or the like, the occurrence of rust can be suppressed, and the good appearance of clothes, bags, and other articles can be maintained.
- the method of producing the fastener element of the present invention each processing method, the method of planting the fastener tape, etc. can be changed as appropriate, and the material of the fastener element may be other than the above, and may be other stainless steel or other than stainless steel. good. Also, materials other than those described above may be used for the coating agent and the water repellent agent.
- the present invention is based on a new problem that was discovered by detailed analysis of the results of a salt water test on stainless steel elements, and is therefore applicable to slide fasteners made of stainless steel elements. Needless to say, there are some, but it is self-evident that the same effect will be exhibited even if it is applied to elements made of metals other than stainless steel. In other words, in the case of stainless steel, the effect can be visually confirmed in a short period of time, but it is clear that metals other than stainless steel will have a certain effect, even if it cannot be visually confirmed to that extent. be. Therefore, it can be said that the present invention is a technical idea that can also be applied to slide fasteners made of metal elements other than stainless steel.
- the corrosion resistance to salt water was evaluated for the slide fastener 10 of this invention.
- the evaluation method is to use a salt spray tester to spray a neutral sodium chloride aqueous solution onto the fastener stringer 18 under a constant atmosphere for a specified period of time, and then observe changes in appearance.
- the salt spray tester used is STP-90V-4 manufactured by Suga Test Instruments Co., Ltd. Use an electronic balance with a minimum memory of 1 g or less and a maximum weighing capacity of 1000 g or more, and use a pH measuring device.
- the test conditions were a test chamber temperature of 35 ⁇ 2° C., an air saturator temperature of 47 ⁇ 2° C., and supplied air of 0.098 ⁇ 0.010 MPa (1 ⁇ 0.1 kg/cm 2 ).
- the sodium chloride solution has a concentration of 5% (50 ⁇ 5 g/l), a specific gravity of 1.029-1.036 (at 25° C.), and a pH of 5.0-8.0 (at the time of adjustment).
- the water used for the sodium chloride solution is deionized water or distilled water (preferably 1 ⁇ S/cm or less) having a temperature of 25 ⁇ 2° C. and an electrical conductivity of 20 ⁇ S/cm or less.
- the salt to be used is special grade or higher as specified in JIS-K-8150.
- the spray liquid collection amount was 1.5 ⁇ 0.5 ml/hr/80 cm 2 .
- the test time is 96 hours.
- test sample is prepared.
- the test samples are the fastener stringer 18 used in the slide fastener 10 of the present application and a conventional fastener stringer for comparison.
- the fastener stringer 18 is subjected to a coating treatment, and the fastener element 14 attached to the fastener tape 12 is subjected to a water-repellent treatment.
- Conventional fastener stringers do not undergo these two treatments.
- FIG. 5 shows an enlarged image of the appearance of corrosion products of the fastener stringer 18 according to the present invention. According to this image, the fastener tape 12 is in a clean state without corrosion or spots due to corrosion.
- FIG. 6 shows an enlarged image of the appearance of corrosion products of a fastener stringer for comparison. According to this image, a red stain S due to iron rust was seen in the portion between the pair of fastener elements 14 of the fastener tape 12 . This is because the fastener tapes 12 are not treated with water-repellent treatment, so that the inner peripheral surfaces of the pair of legs 26 of the fastener element 14 sandwiching and holding the fastener tapes 12 soak into the fastener tapes 12 .
- the slide fastener 10 according to the present invention has a high antirust effect due to the water-repellent treatment.
