Description

TITLE OF INVENTION Ink Container
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION Ink container is a stationery product to supply ink to fountain pens.
Traditionally, each ink container supplies ink of single color. It also requires a closure to prevent evaporation of the ink when it is not in use. This invention provides an ink container which supplies ink in multiple colors. In addition, the ink container does not require a closure to prevent evaporation of ink. The ink container in this invention further provides pen holders to hold fountain pens and supply ink in multiple colors to the fountain pens at the same time. The ink container is simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture, and extremely efficient in use. SUMMARY OF INVENTION
It is an object of the present invention to provide an ink container supplying ink in multiple colors to and hold fountain pens. In addition, no closure is required to prevent evaporation of the ink when the ink container is not in use.
According to the invention there is provided an ink container comprising: a main body having a cavity; at least one pen holder comprising: a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis; a passage having a first end and a second end extending from the pen holder in a direction at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the pen holder, the first end of the passage opening into the cavity of the pen holder, the second end of the passage opening into the cavity of the main body; an inkwell positioned at the bottom end of the pen holder, the inkwell having a flat surface, wherein when the level of the ink within the inkwell becomes low, the ink container can be tilted to rest upon said flat surface for the ink to reach the inkwell.
Preferably, the ink container, when the number of the pen holder is more than one, further comprising: at least one internal body having a cavity, the internal body positioned within the cavity of the main body, wherein the cavity of the internal body seamlessly opens into the second end of the passage of one of the more than one pen holder, and wherein the number of the at least one internal body is at least one and less than the number of the more than one pen holder. Preferably, the shape of the main body of the ink container is substantially a sphere.
Preferably, the main body of the ink container further comprises a flat bottom surface.
Preferably, the length of the pen holder is approximately forty millimeters. Preferably, the ink container is transparent in color.
Preferably, the ink container is made of glass.
Further aspects of the invention will become apparent from the following description, which is given by way of example only. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig. 1 shows a vertical sectional view taken through the ink container, arranged in an upright position.
Fig. 2 shows a vertical sectional view taken through the ink container, arranged in an upright position, with the cavity of the main body filled with ink and with a fountain pen inserted in a pen holder.
Fig. 3 shows a vertical sectional view taken through the ink container, arranged in an upright position, with the cavity of the main body filled with ink, with the cavity of the internal body filled with ink and with two fountain pens inserted in the pen holders of the ink container.
Fig. 4 shows a vertical sectional view taken through the ink container which is tilted to rest upon a flat surface for the ink to reach an inkwell.
Fig. 5 shows a vertical sectional view taken through the ink container which is tilted to rest upon another flat surface for the ink to reach another inkwell.
DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS Fig. 1 to Fig. 5 illustrate an embodiment of an ink container. As shown in Fig.
1, the ink container 100 comprises a main body 200 having a cavity 210 and two pen holders 300. Each pen holder 300 comprises a cavity 310 extending along a longitudinal axis and a passage 320. The passage 320 has a first end 321 and a second end 322. The passage 320 extends from the pen holder 300 in a direction at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the pen holder 300. The first end 321 of the passage 320 opens into the cavity 310 of the pen holder 300. The second end 322 of the passage 320 opens into the cavity 210 of the main body 200. The pen holder 300 has an inkwell 330 positioned at its bottom end. The inkwell 330 has a flat surface 331. The ink container 100 further comprises an internal body 400 having a cavity
410. The internal body 400 is positioned within the cavity 210 of the main body 200. The cavity 410 of the internal body 400 seamlessly opens into the second end
322 of the passage 320 of another pen holder 300.
The shape of the main body 200 is substantially a sphere with a flat bottom surface 220. The ink container 100 is transparent in color and is made of glass.
As shown in Fig. 2, the cavity 210 of the main body 200 is filled with ink 20 and a fountain pen 10 is inserted in one of the two pen holders 300. When the amount of the ink 20 is enough, the ink 20 can fill the inkwell 330 for the fountain pen 10 to reach the ink 20. As shown in Fig. 3, the cavity 410 of the internal body 400 is filled with ink 30 and another fountain pen 10 is inserted in another pen holder 300. When the amount of the ink 30 is enough, the ink 30 can fill the inkwell 330 for the fountain pen 10 to reach the ink 30.
As shown in Fig. 4, when the level of the ink 20 within the inkwell 330 becomes low, the ink container 100 can be tilted to rest upon the flat surface 331 of one of the two pen holders 300 for the ink 20 to reach the inkwell 330.
As shown in Fig. 5, when the level of the ink 30 within the inkwell 330 becomes low, the ink container 100 can be tilted to rest upon the flat surface 331 of another pen holder 300 for the ink 30 to reach the inkwell 330.
