Abstract
The invention relates to a candle holder for holding grave candles, where the candle holder comprises, a head (10) adapted to hold a grave candle, a leg (20) extending from the head to a leg end (25), where the leg between the leg end and the head may be provided with a mechanical weakness (30) to be able to bend the head in relation to the leg.
Description
CANDLE HOLDER FOR HOLDING GRAVE CANDLES FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a candle holder for a grave candle. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Today candles are widely used to both clerical and secular purposes.
Over the years it has been attempted to modify the candles to outdoor conditions. This has for example been done to be able to have candles standing at burial places or at other outdoor memorials.
Grave candles are specially designed for outdoor use. The candle itself is often in a cylindrical container with a protective lid. Thereby, the candles are protected to a cer tain degree against harsh outdoor conditions such as snow and rain.
Grave candles have a cylindrical shape, where the height is significantly larger than that of the diameter. Therefore, grave candles are subjected to fall over when it is windy. To avoid the candles from falling over, when used outdoors, lower candles or other sorts of candles have previously been used, such as tealight candles e.g., in a lantern.
In the clerical world, candles are used in memory of the dead, and there is a great symbolism in the height of the candles and that they are reaching towards the sky.
Other facilities such as lanterns are difficult to transport because they take up a lot of space.
Therefore, there is a need for facilities which prevent grave candles from falling over in the wind, and which are easy to transport.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
It is the object of the invention to provide a candle holder, which can hold a grave candle.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
An object of the invention is achieved by a candle holder for holding grave candles. The candle holder comprises a head adapted for holding a grave candle. The candle holder also comprises a leg. The leg extends from the head to a leg end, where the candle holder is substantially plane before bending of the head in relation to the leg.
The candle holder is designed to be plane during transport and resale in a store. The user of the candle holder will, when the grave candle shall be mounted, bend the head in relation to the leg, such that an angle is formed between the head and the leg. This is shown in several of the figures.
An expert would be able to choose a thickness of the leg, which makes it possible for a person unaided to bend the head in relation to the leg.
A grave candle should be interpreted broadly, such that it can both be a candle or an electrical LED candle.
The head of the candle holder is adapted to hold the grave candle. The head can be completely enclosed or partly enclosed. An expert will know the different embodi ments of the head, which would be relevant to use. It can for example be round or rectangular.
An effect of the head of the candle holder being adapted to hold a grave candle, is that the grave candle is easy to mount in the candle holder.
An object of the invention is achieved by the fact that the leg between the leg end and the head is provided with a mechanical weakness to make it easier to bend the head in relation to the leg, where the candle holder is substantially plane before bending the head.
The effect of the mechanical weakness is that less force is required to bend the head in relation to the leg. Thereby weaker persons, such as elderly or children, would be able to bend the head and insert the grave candle themselves.
The mechanical weakness is an area, where the candle holder is more likely to bend when applying force on the head in relation to the leg. Thereby, the mechanical weak ness controls where the bending occurs along the leg.
The mechanical weakness could be provided by a knock on the candle holder.
The mechanical weakness could be provided as a recess, a cut-out, or the like. The recess could advantageously be made by means of laser cutting.
An effect of the mechanical weakness is that the candle holder is easy to bend, such that the head of the candle holder during use is bend in a favourable position in rela tion to the leg, whereby the grave candle is fastened. A favourable position could for example be that the head was relatively perpendicular on the leg.
A further effect of the mechanical weakness is that the head could be bend in relation to the leg, such that the candle holder forms a flat structure. Thereby, the candle hold er is easy to transport and store.
The candle holder may be produced by e.g. iron, aluminium and metal or any other material that an expert may find usable.
The effect of the candle holder being plane before bending is that the candle holder takes up less space under production and transport. The user of the candle holder could when in use bend the head in relation to the leg because of said mechanical weakness, whereafter the candle holder can hold said grave candle.

An effect of this is that the area where the candle holder should be bend is visual for the user, which makes it easy to use.
Furthermore, a recess is a relatively simple way of providing a mechanical weakness in the candle holder, which makes the production easier.
Particularly, if the recess is provided by use of laser cutting. Thereby, one laser can cut more items in a plane material.
An object of the invention is achieved by placing the recess as shown in Fig. 4B.
An effect of this is that the candle holder is easy to use for holding a grave candle.
An object of the invention is achieved by the leg end of the candle holder being a spear.
An effect of this is that the leg end is easy to insert into a material, such as the ground, for a shoe to press down the candle holder. Thereby, the candle holder achieves a sta bility which makes it less likely to fall over in the wind.
An object of the invention is achieved by laser cutting the candle holder.
Laser cutting is a fully automatic production method that makes the production cheap and precise.
Furthermore, the candle holder may be produced in one piece (monolith), which means that it does not get unintended mechanical weaknesses due to e.g., assembling.
An object of the invention is achieved by the candle holder having a thickness be tween 1-3 mm or 1.5-5 mm or 2-10 mm.
An effect of this is that the head is easy to bend in relation to the leg, while ensuring that the candle holder is stable enough to secure the grave candle in an upright posi tion even if the wind is blowing or the candle holder is exposed to knocks.
In practise, the effect can be achieved if the leg has a thickness between 1-3 mm or 1.5-5 mm or 2-10 mm.
It is particularly advantageous if the candle holder or at least the leg has a thickness between 1-3 mm, if the candle holder does not have a mechanical weakness, because an increased thickness will require a greater effort to bend the head in relation to the leg.
An object of the invention is achieved by the fact that the head of the candle holder is ring-shaped.
Where the difference between the inner and the outer ring is at least 3 mm, but advan tageously at least 5 mm.
The inner diameter of the ring-shaped head is between 5-9 mm, but advantageously between 6-8 mm, since most grave candles are between 6-8 mm.
An effect of this is that it is easy to mount a grave candle in the head because these are often shaped as a cylinder. Furthermore, the ring-shape is a stable structure.
Furthermore, the grave candle is kept in place in the candle holder during use.
Furthermore, the candle holder is easy to stack during storing and transport.
An object of the invention is achieved by the fact that the candle holder is made from a metal.
An effect of this is that the candle holder may be used outdoors, since metal is re sistant to wind and weather, which increases the service life of the candle holder.
A further effect is that metal is strong but can be easy to bend by a mechanical weak ness.
Furthermore, metal is reusable.
An object of the invention is achieved by the fact that the candle holder has a footrest as shown in Fig. 5.
An effect of this is, that the candle holder is easy to insert into a material, e.g. the ground, by placing the foot on the footrest and pressing the leg end down into the ground. Thereby, the user is in a more ergonomically correct position.
An object of the invention is achieved by using the candle holder to secure a candle or grave candle.

1. A candle holder (1) for holding grave candles, where the candle holder (1) compris es
- a head (10) adapted to hold a grave candle: - a leg (20) extending from the head (10) to a leg end (25), where the candle holder (1) is substantially plane before bending the head (10) in relation to the leg.
2. A candle holder (1) according to claim 1, where the leg (20) between the leg end (25) and the head (10) is provided with a mechanical weakness (30) to make it easier to bend the head (10) in relation to the leg (20).
3. The candle holder (1) according to claim 2, where the mechanical weakness (30) is a recess (35).
4. The candle holder (1) according to claim 3, where the recess (35) is placed and shaped as shown in Fig. 4B.
5. The candle holder according to any of the proceeding claims, where the leg end (25) is a spear.
6. The candle holder (1) according to any of the proceeding claims, where the candle holder is cut by laser.
7. The candle holder (1) according to any of the proceeding claims, where the candle holder (1) has a thickness between 1-3 mm or 1.5-5 mm or 2-10 mm.
