複数想定されるノード間のトラヒック需要を効率的に収容可能なネットワークトポロジーを高速に求める方法に関する。
これまで、人口分布や過去のトラヒック需要等により推測されるトラヒック需要行列をもとに、コストや冗長性等を考慮した最適なネットワークトポロジーの設計・構成方法が提案されてきた(例えば、非特許文献1及び2参照。)。しかし、これらの従来技術では、トラヒック需要に大きな需要変動や構造的な変化が発生しないことを前提に、ある固定的なトラヒック需要行列に対して最適な物理トポロジーを構成する方法が提案されている。一方で、将来、マイクロクラウドの配備や自動運転車等の新サービスの普及に伴い、ネットワーク内のノード間に発生するトラヒック需要がこれまでとは異なる特性を持つようになり、トラヒック需要行列が時間と共に構造的に変化する、つまり、異なるトラヒック需要行列が複数想定されるようになる可能性がある。このような場合においても、それら全てを効率的に収容可能な新しいネットワークトポロジーの構成方法が必要となる。

以下、本開示の実施形態について、図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。なお、本開示は、以下に示す実施形態に限定されるものではない。これらの実施の例は例示に過ぎず、本開示は当業者の知識に基づいて種々の変更、改良を施した形態で実施することができる。なお、本明細書及び図面において符号が同じ構成要素は、相互に同一のものを示すものとする。
図1は、本実施形態においてネットワークトポロジー構成を決定する際に必要となる機能の概略構成を示すブロック図である。まず、これらの各機能について説明する。本実施形態のシステムは、トラヒック需要行列予測部11、計算用トラヒック生成部12、ノード情報格納部13、ネットワークトポロジー生成部14、ネットワークトポロジー出力部15、を備える。本開示の装置はコンピュータとプログラムによっても実現でき、プログラムを記録媒体に記録することも、ネットワークを通して提供することも可能である。
トラヒック需要行列予測部11とは、対象とするネットワーク内のノード間で発生し得るトラヒック需要を複数予測し、その集合を生成する機能である。実ネットワークの設計時又は運用時におけるトラヒック需要行列予測部の例として、以下のような場合が考えられる。
(1)ネットワークトラヒック監視装置及び過去のトラヒック情報等から収集したログやデータを基に、将来、ノード間で発生するトラヒック需要行列を一定の時間間隔で予測し、生成する。
(2)外部情報(人口の流動やイベント、季節等の情報)から、考えられる複数のトラヒック需要行列を生成する。
(3)ネットワーク設計者又はオペレータが対象とするネットワークのトラヒック特性をモデル化し、そのモデル上から想定される複数のトラヒック需要行列を生成する。

計算用トラヒック生成部12は、トラヒック需要行列予測部11により与えられるトラヒック需要行列の集合から、ネットワークトポロジーを生成するための入力インスタンスとなるトラヒック需要行列、又は、トラヒック需要行列の集合を生成する機能である。例として、発生し得るトラヒック需要を平均的に収容したい場合には、複数想定されるトラヒック需要行列から、各ノードにおける平均的な需要を求め、それをもとにネットワークトポロジーを生成する。
また、ピーク値を意識したトポロジーの設計を行う場合には、複数想定されるトラヒック需要行列から、各ノードに発生する最大の需要を要素とするトラヒック需要行列を1つ生成し、それをもとにネットワークトポロジーを生成する。更に、上記で述べたようなノード間の平均的な需要を示すトラヒック需要行列及び、各ノード間で発生し得る最大の需要を要素とするトラヒック行列の両方を生成し、それら2つの情報から変動具合を考慮してネットワークトポロジーを生成する場合も考えられる。
ノード情報格納部13は、ネットワーク内の各ノードのポート情報(ポート数、リンク容量等)及び位置情報を保持しておくためのデータベースであり、ネットワークトポロジー生成部14への入力情報である。ネットワークトポロジー生成部14は、計算用トラヒック生成部12により生成されたトラヒック需要行列又はその集合から、解となりうるネットワークのトポロジーを1つ又は複数生成する。解の候補が複数生成された場合には、ネットワークトポロジー出力部15により、最終的なネットワークのトポロジー構成が1つに決められる。
以下、発明者らが提案する具体的な機能ブロックの動作例及びその計算例を示す。まず、機能ブロックの動作例と計算例を説明するために、ネットワークとトラヒック需要行列のモデルについて説明する。次に、それをもとに問題の定式化を行い、複数想定されるノード間のトラヒック需要を効率的に収容可能なネットワークトポロジーを高速に求める手法を提案する。今回、発明者らが提案する手法では、与えられたトラヒック需要行列の集合に対し、各ノード間で発生する平均トラヒック需要を算出(計算用トラヒック生成部12により生成)し、それをもとに需要の多いノード間に優先的にリンクを敷設する方法(ネットワークトポロジー生成部14により生成)を採る。他の方法として、焼きなまし法や遺伝的アルゴリズム等のメタヒューリスティクスをベースとして近似解を求めることも可能である。
1.ネットワークとトラヒックのモデル化
図2に、本開示において用いるネットワーク及びトラヒックのモデルの一例を示す。本開示では、ネットワークを有向グラフG=(V,E)で表す。Vはn個のノードからなる集合(V={v1,v2,…,vn},|V|=n)であり、Eはリンクの集合である。ノードvi-vj間のリンクをeij∈Eで表す。また、各ノードのポート数には制限があり、それをp(<∞)と書く。図2では、ネットワークの一例として、ノード数nが5であり、各ノードのポート数が4である例を示す。この場合、V={v1,v2,…,v5}、E={e12,e15,…,v54}で表される。

2.問題の定式化
第1章で述べたネットワークとトラヒック需要のモデルをもとに、グラフG上でトラヒック需要行列Tの収容量を最大化する問題(P1)を定式化する。各発ノードvsから着ノードvdに流すことのできるトラヒック量をfsdと表す。また、各発ノードvsから着ノードvdへのトラヒック量が、ノードvi-vj間に敷設されたリンクを通る割合をxsd ijとする。このとき、問題(P1)は、以下のように定式化できる。

3.全探索による計算量
本章では、第1章で定式化した問題を、全探索により求める場合に必要な計算量について説明する。決定変数lijの数とその取りうる値がそれぞれn(n-1)及びp+1であることが、問題(P2)の制約条件1及び2からわかる。したがって、すべてのネットワークトポロジーの構成を列挙するにはO((p+1)n(n-1))の計算量が必要となる。
本章では、第1章で定式化した問題を、全探索により求める場合に必要な計算量について説明する。決定変数lijの数とその取りうる値がそれぞれn(n-1)及びp+1であることが、問題(P2)の制約条件1及び2からわかる。したがって、すべてのネットワークトポロジーの構成を列挙するにはO((p+1)n(n-1))の計算量が必要となる。
所望の解を得るためには、これら全ての場合を列挙し、その中から問題(P2)の制約条件1~3を満たすもののみを解の候補として取り出す。そして、その解の候補の全てに対してP(G,T)を計算することで、最適解を得られる。しかし、全探索により最適解を求めることは、ノード数に応じてその計算量が指数的に増加してしまうため、現実的ではない。
4.第1の提案手法
本章では、発明者らが提案する手法の詳細を説明し、その計算量を解析する。また、それが第3章で述べた全探索による計算量と比較し、高速に近似解が得られることを示す。

まず、与えられたトラヒック需要行列の集合TS={T1,T2,…,Tm}をもとに、ノードvi-vj間で発生する需要の平均値
を算出し、それらを要素とするトラヒック需要行列を生成する。これを、平均トラヒック需要行列と呼び、
で表すことにする。平均を表す記号は「ave」で表示されることがあり、例えば、平均トラヒック需要行列は「Tave」と表記されることがある。
これを計算することにより得られる平均トラヒック需要行列Taveをもとに、図5に示す以下の手順で、vi-vj間に敷設するリンク数lijを求める。
以下の手順を、初めにvstart=v1,v1,…,vnとそれぞれ設定した場合におけるネットワークの構成(それぞれg1,g2,…,gnとする)を求め、それにより求められる複数のネットワーク構成の集合

ステップS13.全てのトラヒック需要
に対して上記を行った時点、又は各ノードのポート数に空きが無くなった時点で終了し、以下のステップS14を行う。そうでない場合は、viをvi+1とし(i+1>nの時は、viをv1とする)、ステップS11へ戻る。
ステップS14.もし、空ポート数Piが1以上のノードが2つ以上存在する場合には、それらのノード間に、需要が大きいものからリンクを敷設する。そのようなノード数が1以下となるまでこの操作を行う。
S11からS14のステップは、最大でn2-n回繰り返され、これらをvstart=v1,v2,…,vnのそれぞれの場合に対して行うことから、計算量はO(n3)であることが容易にわかる。これにより、全探索を行う場合に必要とされる計算量O((p+1)n(n-1))と比較し、非常に短い時間で近似解を得ることが可能であることがわかる。
図6~図9に、この手順の例及び、それによって得られるネットワークトポロジー構成を示す。
ステップS10:図6に示すように、vstart=v1、Pi=4,∀vi∈Vである。
ステップS11:図6の表より、ノードv1との平均トラフィック需要が最も大きいノードvj *はv4であり、その値(t1 max)aveは2.77である。
ステップS12:図7に示すように、ノードv1-v4間に、(t1 max)ave=2.77を収容するために必要なだけリンクを敷設する。本実施形態では、lij=|2.77/1.0|=3であり、v1及びv4共にポート数に空きがあるため、l14=3とする。また、空きポート数をそれぞれ更新する。
ステップS13:vsをv2とし、ステップS10に戻る。

ステップS12:図8に示すように、ノードv2-v1間に、(t2 max)ave=1.01を収容するために必要なだけリンクを敷設する。本実施形態では、lij=|1.01/1.0|=2となるが、v1の空きポート数が1であるため、l21=1に設定する。また、空きポート数をそれぞれ更新する。
全てのノードのトラヒック需要に対してリンクの敷設を行った時点、又はトラヒック需要のあるリンクを敷設可能な空きポートがなくなった時点で、ステップS14を行う。
これらの手順を繰り返すと、最終的には図9のようなネットワーク構成が得られる。

全てのノードのトラヒック需要に対してリンクの敷設を行った時点、又はトラヒック需要のあるリンクを敷設可能な空きポートがなくなった時点で、ステップS14を行う。
これらの手順を繰り返すと、最終的には図9のようなネットワーク構成が得られる。
5.第2の提案手法
ネットワークトポロジーGSを求めるもう1つの方法として、平均トラヒック需要行列Taveの全要素のうち、最大のものを逐次選択し、ポート数の制限を考慮しながら貪欲的にリンクを敷設していく方法を提案する。以下の図10に示す手順S2にこの方法によるリンク敷設方法を示す。また、この手順の例及び、これにより得られるネットワークトポロジー構成を図11~図14に示す。
ネットワークトポロジーGSを求めるもう1つの方法として、平均トラヒック需要行列Taveの全要素のうち、最大のものを逐次選択し、ポート数の制限を考慮しながら貪欲的にリンクを敷設していく方法を提案する。以下の図10に示す手順S2にこの方法によるリンク敷設方法を示す。また、この手順の例及び、これにより得られるネットワークトポロジー構成を図11~図14に示す。
この場合、平均トラヒック需要行列Taveの要素数がn2であることから、計算量はO(n2)となり、このような方法においても非常に少ない計算量で近似解を求めることが可能である。

図11~図14における例では、ステップS21及びS22は以下のようになる。

ステップS21:これまで調べた平均トラヒック需要を除いたなかで、平均トラヒック需要が最も大きいノードのペアと、その値(ti*j*
max)aveを求める。図13に示すように、vi*=v5、vj*=2であり、その値(ti*j*
max)aveは2.17である。
ステップS22:ノードv5-v2間に、(ti*j* max)ave=2.17を収容するために必要なだけリンクを敷設する。図11の例では、li*j*=|2.17/1.0|=3であり、v2及びv5共にポート数に空きがあるため、図13に示すように、l52=3とする。また、空きポート数をそれぞれ更新する。
ステップS22:ノードv5-v2間に、(ti*j* max)ave=2.17を収容するために必要なだけリンクを敷設する。図11の例では、li*j*=|2.17/1.0|=3であり、v2及びv5共にポート数に空きがあるため、図13に示すように、l52=3とする。また、空きポート数をそれぞれ更新する。
これらのステップS21及びS22を、ポート数の制約を考慮しながら繰り返して行う。全てのノードのトラヒック需要に対してリンクの敷設を行った時点、又はトラヒック需要のあるリンクを敷設可能な空きポートがなくなった時点で、ステップS21及びS22を終了する。
ステップS23.全てのトラヒック需要
に対してステップS21及びS22を行ったこと、及び各ノードのポート数に空きが無くなったこと、を判定する。これらのいずれかを満たす場合、以下のステップS24を行う。
ステップS24.もし、空ポート数Piが1以上のノードが2つ以上存在する場合には、それらのノード間に、需要が大きいものからリンクを敷設する。そのようなノード数が1以下となるまでこの操作を行う。
6.本開示によって生じる効果
本開示により、ネットワーク設計者は、将来想定される通信サービスに合わせたシナリオやモデルによって発生し得るトラヒック需要行列の集合をもとに、それらを平均的に収容可能なネットワークトポロジー構成の近似解を高速に得ることが可能となる。なお、本実施形態では、計算用トラヒック生成部12において各ノード間で発生する平均値を要素とするトラヒック需要行列を作成したが、本開示のトラヒック需要行列は各ノード間の需要で求められる任意の値を要素に採用することができる。
本開示により、ネットワーク設計者は、将来想定される通信サービスに合わせたシナリオやモデルによって発生し得るトラヒック需要行列の集合をもとに、それらを平均的に収容可能なネットワークトポロジー構成の近似解を高速に得ることが可能となる。なお、本実施形態では、計算用トラヒック生成部12において各ノード間で発生する平均値を要素とするトラヒック需要行列を作成したが、本開示のトラヒック需要行列は各ノード間の需要で求められる任意の値を要素に採用することができる。
7.本開示のポイント
本開示では、ノード間のトラヒック需要が複数考えられる場合、それらを効率的に収容可能なネットワークのトポロジー構成を近似的に高速に計算する方法を提案した。まず、この問題を次数制約付きのネットワーク設計問題として定式化し、全探索による最適解の求解が困難であることを示した。そこで、与えられたトラヒック需要行列の集合に対し、各ノード間で発生する平均等のトラヒック需要を算出し、それをもとに需要量の多いノード間に優先的にリンクを敷設する方法を2つ提案した。さらに、これら提案手法の計算量がそれぞれO(n3)及びO(n2)であることを示した。これらの提案手法で必要とされる計算量は、全探索により必要とされる計算量O((p+1)n(n-1))よりも非常に少ないため、複数想定されるトラヒック需要を効率よく収容可能なトポロジー構成の近似解を高速に求めることが可能となる。

- 対象となるネットワークエリア内に存在するノード間におけるトラヒック需要予測に基づいて作成された複数のトラヒック需要行列から、各ノード間の需要で求められる値を要素とするトラヒック需要行列を作成する計算用トラヒック生成部と、
前記計算用トラヒック生成部で生成されたトラヒック需要行列とネットワークエリア内のノードのポート情報に基づいてネットワークトポロジーを生成するネットワークトポロジー生成部と、
を備える装置。 - 前記ネットワークトポロジー生成部は、前記計算用トラヒック生成部で生成されたトラヒック需要行列を用いて、対象となるネットワークエリア内に存在するノードごとに、トラヒック需要が最も大きいノードを求め、当該ノードとの間に、トラヒックを収容するために必要なリンクを敷設する、
