This International Application claims priority from a Complete patent application filed in India having Patent Application No. 201911044206, filed on October 31, 2019 and titled “SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A WORKOUT EQUIPMENT”.
FIELD OF INVENTION
Embodiments of a present invention relate to operating a workout equipment, and more particularly to a system and method for operating the workout equipment.
BACKGROUND
There has been an increasing demand for a workout equipment that can be utilized to attain and maintain healthy levels of fitness, as society is becoming more health conscious. The workout equipment is an apparatus or a device or a machine used during physical workout. Some of the workout equipment are used to enhance the strength or conditioning effects of the exercise by providing either fixed or adjustable amounts of resistance, or to otherwise enhance the experience or outcome of an exercise routine. The workout equipment providing either fixed or adjustable amounts of resistance may include dumbbells, collars and the like. Further, the workout equipment which enhance the experience or outcome of an exercise routine may include wrist wraps, hydration packs and the like. Some of the other workout equipment may include treadmill, stretch trainer, elliptical trainer and the like.
In one approach, multi-function exercise machines have been developed. The multi function exercise machines are often adapted to be convenient to operate and store, while still providing range of exercises necessary to provide an effective all-around fitness. However, tracking of workout related information is a major task for several reasons within a commercial gym, a public gym, a private gym, home, or the like. The several reasons could be to know tracking progress, encouragement, identifying potential problems, areas of improvement or the like. In such a scenario, the tracking of workout related information does not happen. Thus, not enabling the user to know progress in performance of the user in terms of fitness level. In another approach, a workout operating system is described which allows users of a workout equipment to automatically keep a track of workout related information such as weight stack, speed, count of reps, count of sets, time duration and the like, as well as possibly receive real-time assistance related to the workout. The system is not limited to any specific workout equipment, and can be used to track a weight used and keep a count of reps performed on a variety of equipment, including, but not limited to, selectable weight stack machines, cable machines, barbells with removable weight plates, plate loaded machines, dumbbells, kettle bells and free weights. However, preventing unauthorised usage of the workout equipment is a major task. In such a scenario, the workout equipment belonging to an authorised user is not secured and hence can be accessed by anybody without making any payment before using the corresponding workout equipment.
Further, apart from tracking, automatic adjustment of a plurality of parameters such as weight stack, speed, count of reps, count of sets, time duration and the like are important, otherwise manpower is needed which is a tedious task. Furthermore, at the time of emergency, alerting the authorised user is necessary, otherwise the authorised user may face severe financial loses.
Hence, there is a need for an improved system and method for operating the workout equipment which addresses the aforementioned issues.
