Description

Cover profile for a wiper arm of a wiping system and method for mounting a wiper arm
Technical field
The invention relates to a cover profile for a wiper arm of a wiping system, which cover profile serves to guide hoses, which are arranged within the cross section of the wiper arm, for a cleaning agent and/or heating wires, and to protect same from external influences. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for mounting a wiper arm, wherein the wiper arm is provided with a cover profile according to the invention.
Prior art
WO 02/00480 A1 discloses a cover profile for a wiper arm of a wiping system with the features of the preamble of Claim 1 . The known cover profile is distinguished by guide elements, formed on a cover portion, for at least one hose for a cleaning agent, wherein the cover profile consists of plastic and has fastening portions to form a detent connection with the wiper arm. In particular, the guide elements are distinguished in that they run perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal extent of the cover profile or the longitudinal direction of the hose. A cover profile of this type can therefore be formed only as an injection-moulded part such that, for each cover profile, plastic is injected in a corresponding mould cavity. The cover profile subsequently has to be removed from the mould.
Disclosure of the invention The cover profile according to the invention for a wiper arm of a wiping system with the features of Claim 1 has the advantage that it can be produced particularly simply and inexpensively in terms of production. The invention is based on the concept of configuring the cover profile in the form of an extrusion profile or extrusion component. For this purpose, the cross section of the cover profile has to be configured constantly or identically over the entire length. Such a configuration of the cover profile as an extrusion component makes it possible to sever a respective portion from a profile strand, which emerges endlessly from the extrusion die, in a direction running transversely with respect to the extent of the profile, wherein the severed portion then forms the cover profile in the desired length.
Against this background, the teaching of the invention proposes forming the cover profile in such a manner that the guide elements for at least one hose extend in longitudinal direction of the cover profile over at least almost the entire length of the cover profile, and that the cover profile is configured as an extrusion component.
Advantageous developments of the cover profile according to the invention for a wiper arm of a wiping system are provided in the dependent claims.
Particularly secure and reliable positioning of the hose within the wiper arm is achieved if two guide elements on the cover profile are associated with a hose, between which guide elements the hose is received, forming a clamping fit connection.
A further preferred refinement of the cover profile that permits cleaning agent to be supplied to each side of a wiper blade fastened to the wiper arm, on which spray nozzles are arranged, depending on the wiping direction of the wiper blade, and which at the same time permits an arrangement of heating wires for electrically heating the wiper blade, provides that four guide elements (arranged parallel to one another) are provided for two hoses, and that between the two central guide elements a receiving space is formed to receive two heating wires. In a development of the proposal just made, it can be provided that the two central guide elements delimiting the receiving space for the heating wires have transverse wall portions running in longitudinal direction on the side facing away from the cover portion, between which an introduction gap for the heating wires is formed, the width of which is less than the diameter of a heating wire, and that the central guide elements, at least in the region of the transverse wall portions, are formed so as to be expandable elastically for the introduction of the heating wires. Such a refinement of the cover profile makes it possible to mount the heating wires in a simple manner and to position them captively in the cover profile between the central guide elements.
With regard to the formation of the detent connection between the cover profile and the wiper arm, it is preferably provided that the fastening portions on the cover profile are formed on outer sides of two marginal guide elements facing away from one another, in the form of detent hooks which are triangular in cross section.
In a development of the proposal just made, in order to optimize the size of the interior space of the wiper arm and in order to achieve a visually pleasing external form of the wiper arm, it is provided that the cover portion of the cover profile extends laterally beyond the marginal guide elements forming in each case a support surface for a longitudinal wall of the wiper arm.
Furthermore, the invention comprises a wiper arm for a wiping system, wherein the wiper arm has a U-shaped cross section, and wherein the opening of the cross section of the wiper arm is closed by a cover profile configured according to the invention.
Finally, the invention also comprises a method for mounting a wiper arm of this type, wherein the method has at least the following steps: In a first step, mounting of at least one hose and, if applicable, of two heating wires between the guide elements of the cover profile takes place. Subsequently, mounting of the cover profile on the wiper arm takes place by introducing the cover profile, provided with at least one hose and, if applicable, two heating wires, into the U-shaped cross section of the wiper arm, in a mounting direction running perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the cover profile, with the formation of a detent connection between the cover profile and the wiper arm.
Further advantages, features and details of the invention will emerge from the following description of preferred exemplary embodiments and with reference to the drawings.
Brief description of the drawings
Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a wiper arm with hoses arranged in the wiper arm for a cleaning agent and heating wires for a heatable wiper blade, and with a cover profile configured according to the invention, and
Fig. 2 shows a partially sectioned, perspective illustration of the wiper arm according to Fig. 1 .
Embodiments of the invention
Identical elements or elements having an identical function are provided with the same reference numbers in the figures.
The figures illustrate a cover profile 10 for a wiper arm 1 of a wiping system, in particular a wiping system for a front windscreen of a motor vehicle. The wiper arm 1 , which, in the portion illustrated, is either composed of sheet metal and configured as a bent part or is in the form of an injection-moulded component made from plastic, has a U-shaped cross section. Within the U-shaped cross section of the wiper arm 1 , there are arranged, by way of example, two hoses 2, 3 for supplying a cleaning agent, in particular a cleaning fluid, to at least one spray nozzle in the region of the wiper arm or of a wiper blade connected to the wiper arm, and two heating wires 4, 5 for a heating device in the wiper blade.
The cover profile 10 when mounted on the wiper arm 1 has the same cross section at least over almost the entire length and is configured as an extrusion component from plastic. Furthermore, the cover profile 10 has a cover portion 12 which completely covers the (open) side of the wiper arm 1 and lies with support surfaces 14 flush against the end-side edge portions of the wiper arm 1 and preferably ends flush with the outer surfaces 6, 7 of the wiper arm 1 . Guide elements 15 to 18 which project perpendicularly into the (open) cross section of the wiper arm 1 , are formed integrally on the cover portion 12, are arranged parallel to one another and run in the longitudinal direction 21 of the cover profile 10 extend from the cover portion 12.
On the two marginal guide elements 15 and 18, detent hooks 19 which are triangular in cross section are formed on sides facing away from one another as fastening portions which, in order to form a detent connection 20 with the wiper arm 1 , interact with diametrically opposed receptacles 8 on the wiper arm 1 . The receptacles 8 can be formed, for example, by a stamping process during the manufacturing of the wiper arm 1 .
One hose 2 is arranged between the two guide elements 15 and 16, and the other hose 3 is arranged between the two guide elements 17, 18. To this end, the guide elements 15 to 18, on the side facing the respective hose 2, 3, each have a wall 22 adapted to the diameter or cross section of the hose 2, 3, and therefore a form-fitting contact is formed between the wall 22 and the outer cross section of the hose 2, 3. Furthermore, the distance between the guide elements 15, 16 and 17, 18 is adapted to the outside diameter of the hose 2, 3 in such a manner that a clamping fit connection 24 is in each case formed between the guide elements 15 to 18 and the two hoses 2, 3. The introduction of the hose 2, 3 between the guide elements 15 to 18 takes place in each case from the side facing away from the cover portion 12 of the cover profile 10.
A receiving space 25 for the two heating wires 4, 5 is formed between the two central guide elements 16, 17. The two heating wires 4, 5 are arranged one above the other with respect to the cover portion 12, wherein the two guide elements 16, 17, on the side facing away from the cover portion 12, have transverse wall portions 26, 28 which run in the longitudinal direction of the cover profile 10 and between which an introducing gap 30 for the heating wires 4, 5 is formed. The width w of the introducing gap 30 is smaller here than the diameter d of each of the heating wires 4, 5, wherein the two (central) guide elements 16, 17, at least in the region of the transverse wall portions 26, 28, are formed so as to be expandable elastically for the introduction of the heating wires 4, 5.
The mounting of the wiper arm 1 with the cover profile 10 and the hoses 2, 3 and the heating wires 4, 5 will be explained as follows: First of all, the two heating wires 4, 5 or else the two hoses 2, 3 between the guide elements 15 to 18 are mounted in a mounting direction 32 running perpendicularly to the longitudinal extent of the cover portion 12 or parallel to the guide elements 15 to 18. Subsequently, the mounting of the cover profile 10 takes place by introducing the two marginal guide elements 15, 18 into the (open) cross section of the wiper arm 1 , with the detent connection 30 being formed between the detent hooks 19 and the receptacles 8. The mounting of the wiper arm 1 is then completed.
The cover profile 10 or the wiper arm 1 described thus far can be altered or modified in a wide variety of ways without departing from the concept of the invention. This consists in configuring the cover profile 10 as an extrusion component in such a manner that the guide elements 15 to 18 extend in the longitudinal direction of the cover profile 10.
