中和反応において硫酸第一錫水溶液が使用される場合に、硫酸第一錫水溶液中の錫濃度は、例えば60~110g/Lの範囲とすることができる。
中和反応によって、酸化第一錫が析出して、沈殿する。得られた沈殿を、固液分離して、酸化第一錫の粉末を得ることができる。固液分離は、公知の手段によって行うことができ、例えば吸引、圧搾ろ過、デカンテーション、遠心分離を使用することができる。酸化第一錫の粉末は、所望により、洗浄してもよく、例えば遠心分離機等の分離手段との組み合わせによって洗浄してもよい。
本発明によって得られる酸化第一錫(SnO)粉末は、酸化第一錫及び不可避不純物からなり、水分を除いた含有量として、酸化第一錫の含有量が例えば99.9質量%以上、好ましくは99.99質量%以上、さらに好ましくは99.995質量%以上とすることができ、例えば99.99~99.995質量%、好ましくは99.99~99.999質量%の範囲とすることができる。後述する不純物の含有量は、ICP質量分析装置(通称ICP-MS)、ICP発光分光分析装置(通称ICP-OES)、フレーム原子吸光装置(通称AAS)、塩素・硫黄分析装置/全有機ハロゲン分析装置(通称TOX)、炭素・硫黄分析装置(通称LECO)分析によって求めることができる。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末のCl含有量(塩素含有量)は、水分を除いた含有量として、例えば5ppm未満、好ましくは1ppm以下、更に好ましくは1ppm未満とすることができる。本発明の酸化第一錫は、その製造において塩酸系の水溶液の使用が回避されているために、Cl含有量の著しい低減を可能としている。Clの含有量はTOX((株)三菱ケミカルアナリテック製TOX-2100H)によって測定することができる。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末のS含有量(硫黄含有量)は、水分を除いた含有量として、例えば20ppm未満、好ましくは10ppm以下、更に好ましくは10ppm未満とすることができる。本発明の酸化第一錫は、その製造において硫酸系の水溶液を使用されているにもかかわらず、S含有量の著しい低減を可能としている。Sの含有量はLECO(LECOジャパン合同会社製CSLS600)によって測定することができる。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末のNa含有量(ナトリウム含有量)は、水分を除いた含有量として、例えば5ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm以下、さらに好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)とすることができる。好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫のK含有量(カリウム含有量)は例えば5ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm以下、さらに好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)とすることができる。本発明の酸化第一錫は、その製造においてナトリウム含有物質、カリウム含有物質の使用が回避されているために、Na含有量、K含有量の著しい低減を可能としている。Na、Kの含有量はAAS(アジレント・テクノロジー(株)製AA240FS)によって測定することができる。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末の不純物含有量は、水分を除いた含有量として、Ag、As、Bi、Cd、Cr、Cu、In、Mg、Mn、Pb、Sb、Th、Tl、U、ZnはICP-MS((株)日立ハイテクサイエンス製SPQ9700)、Ca、Co、Fe、Ni、PはICP-OES((株)日立ハイテクサイエンス製SPS3500DD)によって測定した含有量として、以下の含有量とすることができる:
Agが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Asが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Biが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Caが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Cdが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Coが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Crが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Cuが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Feが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Inが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Mgが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Mnが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Niが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Pbが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Thが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Tlが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Uが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Znが1ppm以下、好ましくは1ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Pが20ppm以下、好ましくは10ppm以下、さらに好ましくは10ppm未満(検出限界未満)、Sbが5ppm以下、好ましくは2ppm以下、さらに好ましくは1.6ppm以下。あるいはSbは上記の上限であると同時に0.1ppm以上、好ましくは0.5ppm以上、さらに好ましくは1.0ppm以上。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末(酸化第一錫粉)の2次粒子形状は、例えば球状、及び、それらが複数結合した形状となっている。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末は、例えば1.0m2/g以下、好ましくは0.5m2/g以下、例えば0.1~1.0m2/g、好ましくは0.1~0.9m2/g、さらに好ましくは0.15~0.5m2/gの範囲の比表面積とすることができる。本発明における比表面積は、QUANTA CHROME製Monosorb MS-21によって測定することができる。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末は、例えば1.0~4.0g/cm3、好ましくは2.0~4.0g/cm3、さらに好ましくは2.5~3.5g/cm3の範囲のTAP密度とすることができる。本発明におけるTAP密度は、株式会社セイシン企業製TAPDENSER KYT-4000Kによって測定することができる。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末は、例えば20~60μm、好ましくは30~60μm、さらに好ましくは40~60μmの範囲の50%粒子径(D50)とすることができる。本発明における50%粒子径(D50)は、マイクロトラック・ベル(株)MT3300EX2によって測定することができる。
好適な実施の態様において、酸化第一錫粉末の安息角は、例えば33°以下、好ましくは30°以下とすることができ、例えば10~33°の範囲、好ましくは15~30°の範囲とすることができる。安息角は、粉末を水平面上に落下させて堆積させた円錐の母線と水平面とのなす角をいう。安息角測定は、例えばパウダテスタ(ホソカワミクロン株式会社製PT-S)を用いて行うことができる。好適な実施の態様において、本発明の酸化第一錫粉末は、上述の優れた安息角を備える乾燥粉末である。乾燥粉末とは、乾燥させた粉末であり、具体的には、水分0.1重量%未満となるように乾燥された粉末をいう。
本発明の酸化第一錫粉末は、溶解性に優れ、めっき液の補充のために、好適に使用することができる。本発明における溶解性とは、メタンスルホン酸溶液に対する溶解性をいう。この溶解性は、後述する実施例の条件下の溶解性として求めることができ、すなわち、メタンスルホン酸濃度100g/Lの溶液に酸化第一錫粉末を100g/L添加して溶解させて、酸化第一錫が持つ黒色が消えて無色透明、或いは淡黄色になるまでの時間(溶解時間)を測定することで、定量化することができる。好適な実施の態様において、溶解後の濁度が20度となり、且つ溶解時間が30秒以下である場合に溶解性に優れるということができ、好ましくは20秒以下、さらに好ましくは10秒以下である場合に、特に優れた溶解性であるということができる。
好適な実施の態様において、本発明は、次の(1)以下を含んでもよい。
(1)
酸化第一錫及び不可避不純物からなる、酸化第一錫粉末であって、
乾燥質量における酸化第一錫の含有量が99.9質量%以上であり、
比表面積が0.1~1.0m2/gであり、
TAP密度が2~4g/cm3であり、
50%粒子径が30~60μmであり、
安息角が10~33°である、酸化第一錫粉末。
(2)
塩素含有量が1ppm以下であり、且つ硫黄含有量が10ppm以下である、(1)に記載の酸化第一錫粉末。
(3)
Ag、As、Bi、Ca、Cd、Co、Cr、Cu、Fe、In、K、Mg、Mn、Na、Ni、Pb、Th、Tl、U、Znの含有量がいずれも1ppm以下であり、P、Sの含有量が10ppm以下であり、Clの含有量が1ppm以下であり、Sbの含有量が1~5ppmである、(1)に記載の酸化第一錫粉末。
(4)
メタンスルホン酸濃度100g/Lの溶液に酸化第一錫粉末を100g/L添加して、30秒以下で溶解し、溶解後の濁度が20度である、(1)~(3)のいずれかに記載の酸化第一錫粉末。
[酸化第一錫の製造]
反応容器としてガラス製の50L丸底容器に純水を20L入れ、重炭酸アンモニウムを175g/L投入し、反応母液とした。この溶液を加熱保持した。
予め、金属錫を電解して作製した硫酸錫溶液(錫濃度100g/L)20Lを炭酸水素アンモニウム溶液中へ滴下した。滴下反応中の液温はオイルバスで65℃~70℃を維持した(加熱保持温度一段目)。滴下は電磁定量ポンプを用い、約2時間かけて投入した。反応中は撹拌機を用いて撹拌した。反応中は酸性の硫酸錫溶液が入るために、pHは低下してゆく。そこでpHを7.0~7.5が維持できるように、重炭酸アンモニウム結晶を適宜投入した。
滴下の終了後に、温度を75~80℃に上げてさらに約1時間保持した(加熱保持温度二段目)。
反応後、得られたスラリーを抜出、濾過洗浄を行い、80℃16時間保持して乾燥した酸化第一錫粉末を得た。
SnSO4+2(NH4)HCO3→SnO+(NH4)2SO4+H2O+2CO2↑
得られた粒子状の酸化第一錫を、次のように評価した。得られた結果は、表1にまとめて示す。
不純物含有量を、ICP-MS、ICP-OES、AAS、TOX、LECO等を用いて分析した。
比表面積を、QUANTA CHROME製Monosorb MS-21を用いて測定した。
TAP密度を、株式会社セイシン企業製TAPDENSER KYT-4000Kを用いて測定した。
粒度を、マイクロトラック・ベル株式会社MT3300EX2によって測定した。
得られた酸化第一錫粉末の溶解性を、次のように溶解時間を求めることによって、評価した。
濃度96%のメタンスルホン酸を7.5mL採取し、純水で50mLに希釈する。酸化第一錫5.0gを、50mLビーカー中のメタンスルホン酸水溶液へ速やかに投入し、スターラーによって500rpmで攪拌しながら、投入から溶解するまでの時間を測定した。この時の溶液温度は23℃であった。目視によって黒い濁りが無色透明となったことを目安として、溶解の終了と判定して時間を測定した。さらに、メタンスルホン酸に酸化錫を溶かし、溶解させて5分間静置させた後での濁度を、株式会社共立理化学研究所製デジタル濁度計500G(型式TB-500G)によって測定した。これらの結果をまとめて表1に示す。また、実施例1の酸化第一錫粉末について、溶解試験における、溶解後の溶液の外観を図1に示す。
得られた酸化第一錫粉末を、SEM(株式会社日立ハイテクノロジーズ、電子顕微鏡S-3000N)によって観察した。実施例1の酸化第一錫粉末のSEM像を図2~4に示す。図2は×100倍、図3は×800倍、図4は×2000倍のSEM像である。
得られた酸化第一錫粉末の粒度分布をマイクロトラック・ベル株式会社MT3300EX2によって測定した。実施例1の酸化第一錫粉末の粒度分布のグラフを図5に示す。
実施例2として、以下の条件を変更したことを除いて、実施例1と同様の手順で酸化第一錫粉末を得た。
すなわち、実施例1において、反応母液とするための重炭酸アンモニウムの投入量を増やして、重炭酸アンモニウム200g/Lとなるようにした。また、この溶液を70℃~75℃に加熱保持して、滴下反応中の液温は70℃~75℃を維持し(加熱保持温度一段目)、滴下は約1時間かけて行った。pHは、pH7.5~8.0を維持するようにした。滴下の終了後に、温度を80~85℃に上げてさらに約3時間保持した(加熱保持温度二段目)。
得られた実施例2の酸化第一錫粉末を、実施例1と同様に評価した。その結果を表1にまとめて示す。実施例2の酸化第一錫粉末について、溶解試験における、溶解後の溶液の外観を図6に示す。
実施例2の酸化第一錫粉末のSEM像を図7~9に示す。図7は×100倍、図8は×800倍、図9は×2000倍のSEM像である。
実施例2の酸化第一錫粉末の粒度分布のグラフを図10に示す。
市販の酸化第一錫粉末(JX金属商事株式会社製)を用意して、実施例1と同様に、評価を行った。その結果を、表1にまとめて示す。
比較例1の酸化第一錫粉末について、溶解試験における、溶解後の溶液の外観を図11に示す。
比較例1の酸化第一錫粉末のSEM像を図12~14に示す。図12は×100倍、図13は×800倍、図14は×2000倍のSEM像である。
比較例1の酸化第一錫粉末の粒度分布のグラフを図15に示す。
Claims (4)
- 酸化第一錫及び不可避不純物からなる、酸化第一錫粉末であって、
乾燥質量における酸化第一錫の含有量が99.9質量%以上であり、
比表面積が0.1~1.0m2/gであり、
TAP密度が2~4g/cm3であり、
50%粒子径が30~60μmであり、
安息角が10~33°である、酸化第一錫粉末。 - 塩素含有量が1ppm以下であり、且つ硫黄含有量が10ppm以下である、請求項1に記載の酸化第一錫粉末。
- Ag、As、Bi、Ca、Cd、Co、Cr、Cu、Fe、In、K、Mg、Mn、Na、Ni、Pb、Th、Tl、U、Znの含有量がいずれも1ppm以下であり、P、Sの含有量が10ppm以下であり、Clの含有量が1ppm以下であり、Sbの含有量が1~5ppmである、請求項1に記載の酸化第一錫粉末。
- メタンスルホン酸濃度100g/Lの溶液に酸化第一錫粉末を100g/L添加して、30秒以下で溶解し、溶解後の濁度が20度である、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の酸化第一錫粉末。
