22 ° C and an aging temperature of 180 ° C over time for a die-cast component made from the alloy according to the invention compared to a die-cast component made from a known alloy. Table 1 below shows the composition of an alloy of the exemplary embodiment according to the invention, which is called “Erfg. Leg. "Or as" Erf. Leg. ”And the composition of a well-known aluminum alloy (EN AC48000), which is also known as“ Comp. Leg. ”Is referred to, ie as a reference alloy.
As can be seen from Table 1, both alloys have the main components Si, Fe, Cu, Mn, Mg and Ni in addition to aluminum. While the proportions of Si, Fe, Mn and Ni are similar for the alloy according to the invention and for the comparative alloy, the Cu and Mg proportions of the alloy according to the invention are approximately twice as large as in the comparative alloy.
In order to compare the mechanical strength of the die-cast components produced from the alloy according to the invention and from the comparative alloy using the same die-casting method, a tensile test was carried out at different test temperatures, in which the yield strength Rp 0.2 was determined.
This value is the value of the uniaxial mechanical stress, at which the permanent elongation related to the initial length of the specimen after relief is exactly 0.2%.
Tables 2 and 3 below show the yield strengths determined for different periods (1 h, 24 h, 170 h, 500 h and 1000 h) in which the samples were exposed to a temperature of 180 ° C. With the values according to Table 2, the test specimens were cooled to a temperature of 22 ° C. and then subjected to the tensile test. The test specimens were used for the values according to Table 3 the same temperature (180 ° C) subjected to the tensile test at which they were kept or aged.
Both tables show that the die-cast component manufactured from the alloy according to the invention at the start of the test (t = Oh) and also afterwards at any time, i.e. regardless of aging, always has a higher proof stress than the die-cast component obtained from the known alloy. The corresponding results from FIGS. 1 and 2, which show the course of the yield strength Rp 0.2 for die-cast components that were obtained from the two alloys according to Table 1 by a die-casting process. The test conditions correspond to those explained for Tables 2 and 3, the table values were taken from Figures 1 and 2.

Table 4 shows the values of the Brinell hardness HB10 of the die-cast components produced from the alloys mentioned by means of a die-casting process, the components also being subjected to aging at a temperature of 180 ° in this case. FIG. 3 shows the corresponding course of the Brinell hardness for these samples over time. It can be seen that the component obtained from the alloy according to the invention has a higher hardness at the start of the test (t = 0 h) and then over the entire aging period of up to 1000 h than the die-cast component obtained from the known alloy.
