Description
本発明は、フレキソ印刷版用水性現像液、および、それを用いたフレキソ印刷版の製造方法に関する。
近年、作業環境改善や地球環境の保全の観点から有機溶剤の使用を減らそうという動きが各種産業界から出ており、印刷に用いる感光性のフレキソ印刷版の製版工程においても水性現像可能な感光性樹脂版の使用が増えつつある状況にある。
例えば、特許文献1には、「感光性樹脂版を露光後、未露光部を現像液を用いて除去する現像方法において、現像液が、水に-SO3M(Mは1価の金属原子、2価の金属原子、3価の金属原子、アンモニウム化合物のいずれかを示す)基を有する炭素数11以下の炭化水素化合物が含有された現像液であることを特徴とする感光性樹脂版の現像法。」が記載されている([請求項1])。
また、特許文献2には、「少なくとも界面活性剤(A)、pH調整剤(B)、洗浄促進剤(C)及び水からなる水性現像液であって、界面活性剤(A)が少なくともHLB12~16の炭素数6~8の第1級アルコールのアルキレンオキサイド付加体を含み、pH調整剤(B)が無機塩で水性現像液のpHが8~13であり、洗浄促進剤(C)が下記式(I)あるいは(II)で表される化合物を含むことを特徴とする感光性樹脂用水性現像液組成物。

本発明者は、特許文献1および2に記載された水性現像液について検討したところ、画像再現性が良好であることが分かったが、この水性現像液を数回の現像に用いた後において、印刷版上や現像装置の浴槽の壁面などに残存した現像液を水で洗浄(リンス)する際に、現像液中の分散物が印刷版上などに付着して被印刷物に汚れが発生したり、現像液中の分散物が凝集し、印刷装置のメンテナンス性に影響を与えたりする問題があることを明らかとした。
そこで、本発明は、良好な印刷再現性を維持し、繰り返し使用時における現像液中の分散物の付着および凝集を抑制することができるフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液、および、それを用いたフレキソ印刷版の製造方法を提供することを課題とする。
本発明者は、上記課題を達成すべく鋭意検討した結果、所定の分子量を有する界面活性剤を配合した水性現像液が、良好な印刷再現性を維持し、繰り返し使用時における現像液中の分散物の付着および凝集を抑制することができることを見出し、本発明を完成させた。
すなわち、本発明者は、以下の構成により上記課題を達成することができることを見出した。

本発明によれば、良好な印刷再現性を維持し、繰り返し使用時における現像液中の分散物の付着および凝集を抑制することができるフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液、および、それを用いたフレキソ印刷版の製造方法を提供することができる。
以下、本発明について詳細に説明する。
以下に記載する構成要件の説明は、本発明の代表的な実施態様に基づいてなされることがあるが、本発明はそのような実施態様に限定されるものではない。
なお、本願明細書において、「~」を用いて表される数値範囲は、「~」の前後に記載される数値を下限値および上限値として含む範囲を意味する。

[フレキソ印刷版用水性現像液]
本発明のフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液(以下、「本発明の水性現像液」とも略す。)は、分子量1000以上の界面活性剤と、水とを含有する、フレキソ印刷版用の水性現像液である。
本発明のフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液(以下、「本発明の水性現像液」とも略す。)は、分子量1000以上の界面活性剤と、水とを含有する、フレキソ印刷版用の水性現像液である。
本発明においては、上述した通り、分子量1000以上の界面活性剤を配合した水性現像液が、良好な印刷再現性を維持し、繰り返し使用時における現像液中の分散物の付着および凝集を抑制することができる。
これは、詳細には明らかではないが、本発明者は以下のように推測している。
まず、水性現像液は、通常、2回以上の現像に繰り返して用いられるが、例えば、2回目の現像に用いる現像液には、1回目の現像によりフレキソ印刷版原版から除去された版材、すなわち、未露光部(未硬化)の版材が分散物として存在することになる。
そして、後述する比較例に示す通り、水性現像液中に、分子量1000未満の界面活性剤が配合されている場合は、リンス工程を想定した水で希釈した際に、分散物の付着性が上昇してしまうことが分かる。
そのため、本発明においては、分子量1000以上の界面活性剤を配合することにより、界面活性剤と分散剤との会合が強くなり、リンス工程を想定した水で希釈した際にも会合状態を維持できるためであると考えられる。
以下に、本発明の水性現像液が含有する各成分について詳細に説明する。
これは、詳細には明らかではないが、本発明者は以下のように推測している。
まず、水性現像液は、通常、2回以上の現像に繰り返して用いられるが、例えば、2回目の現像に用いる現像液には、1回目の現像によりフレキソ印刷版原版から除去された版材、すなわち、未露光部(未硬化)の版材が分散物として存在することになる。
そして、後述する比較例に示す通り、水性現像液中に、分子量1000未満の界面活性剤が配合されている場合は、リンス工程を想定した水で希釈した際に、分散物の付着性が上昇してしまうことが分かる。
そのため、本発明においては、分子量1000以上の界面活性剤を配合することにより、界面活性剤と分散剤との会合が強くなり、リンス工程を想定した水で希釈した際にも会合状態を維持できるためであると考えられる。
以下に、本発明の水性現像液が含有する各成分について詳細に説明する。
〔界面活性剤〕
本発明の水性現像液が含有する界面活性剤は、分子量が1000以上の界面活性剤である。
ここで、分子量は、ゲル浸透クロマトグラフィ(GPC)法により以下の条件で測定した重量平均分子量である。

本発明の水性現像液が含有する界面活性剤は、分子量が1000以上の界面活性剤である。

上記界面活性剤の分子量は、1000~500000であることが好ましく、1500~50000であることがより好ましい。
本発明においては、分散物の分散性を維持する観点から、界面活性剤が、下記式(1)~(6)のいずれかで表される繰り返し単位を有する重合体であることが好ましく、中でも、下記式(1)で表される繰り返し単位を有する重合体(ポリカルボン酸)または下記式(2)で表される繰り返し単位を有する重合体(ポリカルボン酸金属塩)であることがより好ましく、下記式(2)で表される繰り返し単位を有する重合体であることが更に好ましい。
上記式(1)~(4)中、R1は、水素原子またはメチル基を表す。
また、上記式(5)および(6)中、R2は、水素原子、メチル基およびエチル基のいずれかを表し、水素原子であることが好ましい。
また、上記式(2)、(4)および(6)中、Mは、ナトリウム、カリウムおよびカルシウムのいずれかを表し、ナトリウムであることが好ましい。
また、上記式(5)および(6)中、R2は、水素原子、メチル基およびエチル基のいずれかを表し、水素原子であることが好ましい。
また、上記式(2)、(4)および(6)中、Mは、ナトリウム、カリウムおよびカルシウムのいずれかを表し、ナトリウムであることが好ましい。
上記式(7)中、R2は、水素原子、メチル基およびエチル基のいずれかを表し、水素原子であることが好ましい。
また、上記式(7)中、Mは、ナトリウム、カリウムおよびカルシウムのいずれかを表し、ナトリウムであることが好ましい。

本発明においては、現像液中での親水性安定性の観点から、界面活性剤が、アニオン性(陰イオン性)界面活性剤であることが好ましい。
また、本発明においては、界面活性剤の含有量が、水性現像液の総質量に対して0.005~5質量%であることが好ましく、0.01~1質量%であることがより好ましく、0.01質量%超0.5質量%未満であることが更に好ましい。
〔水〕
本発明の水性現像液が含有する水は、特に限定されず、精製水、蒸留水、イオン交換水、純水、ミリQ水等の超純水のいずれも使用することができる。なお、ミリQ水とは、メルク(株)の超純水製造装置であるミリQ水製造装置による得られる超純水である。
本発明の水性現像液に含まれる水の含有量は、現像液の総質量に対して80~99.99質量%であることが好ましく、90~99.9質量%であることがより好ましい。
本発明の水性現像液が含有する水は、特に限定されず、精製水、蒸留水、イオン交換水、純水、ミリQ水等の超純水のいずれも使用することができる。なお、ミリQ水とは、メルク(株)の超純水製造装置であるミリQ水製造装置による得られる超純水である。
本発明の水性現像液に含まれる水の含有量は、現像液の総質量に対して80~99.99質量%であることが好ましく、90~99.9質量%であることがより好ましい。
〔アルカリ金属炭酸塩/アルカリ金属水酸化物〕
本発明に水性現像液は、分散物の付着をより抑制できる理由から、アルカリ金属炭酸塩およびアルカリ金属水酸化物の少なくとも一方を含有していることが好ましく、少なくともアルカリ金属炭酸塩を含有していることがより好ましい。
ここで、アルカリ金属としては、具体的には、例えば、ナトリウム、カリウムおよびカルシウムなどが挙げられる。
また、アルカリ金属炭酸塩としては、具体的には、例えば、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸カリウムなどが挙げられ、中でも、安全性の面から炭酸ナトリウムが好ましい。
また、アルカリ金属水酸化物としては、具体的には、例えば、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウムなどが挙げられる。
本発明に水性現像液は、分散物の付着をより抑制できる理由から、アルカリ金属炭酸塩およびアルカリ金属水酸化物の少なくとも一方を含有していることが好ましく、少なくともアルカリ金属炭酸塩を含有していることがより好ましい。
ここで、アルカリ金属としては、具体的には、例えば、ナトリウム、カリウムおよびカルシウムなどが挙げられる。
また、アルカリ金属炭酸塩としては、具体的には、例えば、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸カリウムなどが挙げられ、中でも、安全性の面から炭酸ナトリウムが好ましい。
また、アルカリ金属水酸化物としては、具体的には、例えば、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウムなどが挙げられる。
アルカリ金属炭酸塩および/またはアルカリ金属水酸化物を含有する場合の含有量(両者を含有する場合は合計の含有量)は、水性現像液の総質量に対して0.01~5質量%であることが好ましく、0.1~1質量%であることがより好ましい。
〔その他の成分〕
本発明の水性現像液は、必要に応じて任意成分として、各種添加剤を配合することができる。
添加剤としては、例えば、クエン酸、エチレンジアミン四酢酸(EDTA)などの金属封鎖剤;エタノールアミンなどのアルカノールアミン;ベンゾトリアゾール、安息香酸などの防腐剤;グリコール類(例えば、エチレングリコール等)、低級アルコール類(例えば、エタノール等)などの凝固点降下剤;シリコーン類、ポリオール類などの消泡剤;等を本発明の効果を損なわない範囲で適宜配合することができる。
本発明の水性現像液は、必要に応じて任意成分として、各種添加剤を配合することができる。

本発明の水性現像液を用いた現像方法は、従来公知の水性現像液を用いた現像方法と同様の方法が挙げられ、例えば、水性現像液をフレキソ印刷版原版の未露光部に接触させて、ブラシ、水圧、超音波などの物理的作用を加えて、未露光部を構成する感光層(感光性樹脂組成物)を水性現像液中に分散させ、除去する方法が挙げられる。
この時、水性現像液は、未露光部を浸漬させておいてよく、また、物理的作用が及ぶときに連続的に供給して接触させておいてもよい。
また、水性現像液は、現像時の液温が20~60℃であることが好ましく、30~50℃であることがより好ましい。
また、通常使用される物理的作用力としては、ブラシが用いられ、毛の材質、太さ、長さ、毛の密植度、配置、ブラシの移動、回転方向などが適宜選択される。
本発明の水性現像液を用いた現像方法は、従来公知の水性現像液を用いた現像方法と同様の方法が挙げられ、例えば、水性現像液をフレキソ印刷版原版の未露光部に接触させて、ブラシ、水圧、超音波などの物理的作用を加えて、未露光部を構成する感光層(感光性樹脂組成物)を水性現像液中に分散させ、除去する方法が挙げられる。

〔フレキソ印刷版原版〕
本発明の水現像液で現像されるフレキソ印刷版原版が有する感光層(感光性樹脂組成物)は、従来公知の感光性樹脂組成物を用いることができ、例えば、水分散ラテックス、ゴム、光重合性モノマー、光重合開始剤、界面活性剤などを含有する樹脂組成物が挙げられる。
本発明の水現像液で現像されるフレキソ印刷版原版が有する感光層(感光性樹脂組成物)は、従来公知の感光性樹脂組成物を用いることができ、例えば、水分散ラテックス、ゴム、光重合性モノマー、光重合開始剤、界面活性剤などを含有する樹脂組成物が挙げられる。
<水分散ラテックス>
樹脂組成物が含有する水分散ラテックスは特に限定されず、従来公知のフレキソ印刷版に用いられている水分散ラテックスを用いることができる。
水分散ラテックスとしては、具体的には、例えば、ポリブタジエンラテックス、天然ゴムラテックス、スチレン-ブタジエン共重合体ラテックス、アクリロニトリル-ブタジエン共重合体ラテックス、ポリクロロプレンラテックス、ポリイソプレンラテックス、ポリウレタンラテックス、メチルメタクリレート-ブタジエン共重合体ラテックス、ビニルピリジン重合体ラテックス、ブチル重合体ラテックス、チオコール重合体ラテックス、アクリレート重合体ラテックスなどの水分散ラテックス重合体;これら重合体にアクリル酸、メタクリル酸などの他の成分を共重合して得られる重合体;等が挙げられ、これらを1種単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
樹脂組成物が含有する水分散ラテックスは特に限定されず、従来公知のフレキソ印刷版に用いられている水分散ラテックスを用いることができる。
水分散ラテックスとしては、具体的には、例えば、ポリブタジエンラテックス、天然ゴムラテックス、スチレン-ブタジエン共重合体ラテックス、アクリロニトリル-ブタジエン共重合体ラテックス、ポリクロロプレンラテックス、ポリイソプレンラテックス、ポリウレタンラテックス、メチルメタクリレート-ブタジエン共重合体ラテックス、ビニルピリジン重合体ラテックス、ブチル重合体ラテックス、チオコール重合体ラテックス、アクリレート重合体ラテックスなどの水分散ラテックス重合体;これら重合体にアクリル酸、メタクリル酸などの他の成分を共重合して得られる重合体;等が挙げられ、これらを1種単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
<ゴム>
樹脂組成物が含有するゴムは特に限定されず、従来公知のフレキソ印刷版に用いられているゴム材料を用いることができる。
上記ゴムとしては、具体的には、例えば、ブタジエンゴム(BR)、ニトリルゴム(NBR)、アクリルゴム、エピクロルヒドリンゴム、ウレタンゴム、イソプレンゴム、スチレンイソプレンゴム、スチレンブタジエンゴム、エチレン-プロピレン共重合体、塩素化ポリエチレンなどが挙げられ、これらを1種単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
樹脂組成物が含有するゴムは特に限定されず、従来公知のフレキソ印刷版に用いられているゴム材料を用いることができる。
上記ゴムとしては、具体的には、例えば、ブタジエンゴム(BR)、ニトリルゴム(NBR)、アクリルゴム、エピクロルヒドリンゴム、ウレタンゴム、イソプレンゴム、スチレンイソプレンゴム、スチレンブタジエンゴム、エチレン-プロピレン共重合体、塩素化ポリエチレンなどが挙げられ、これらを1種単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
<光重合性モノマー>
樹脂組成物が含有する光重合性モノマーは特に限定されず、従来公知のフレキソ印刷版に用いられている光重合性モノマーを用いることができる。
光重合性モノマーとしては、例えば、エチレン性不飽和化合物を挙げることができる。
エチレン性不飽和化合物としては、具体的には、例えば、(メタ)アクリルモノマー、(メタ)アクリルオリゴマ、(メタ)アクリル変性重合体などを挙げることができる。
また、(メタ)アクリル変性重合体としては、具体的には、例えば、(メタ)アクリル変性ブタジエンゴム、(メタ)アクリル変性ニトリルゴムなどを挙げることができる。
なお、「(メタ)アクリル」とは、アクリルまたはメタクリルを意味する表記である。
樹脂組成物が含有する光重合性モノマーは特に限定されず、従来公知のフレキソ印刷版に用いられている光重合性モノマーを用いることができる。
光重合性モノマーとしては、例えば、エチレン性不飽和化合物を挙げることができる。
エチレン性不飽和化合物としては、具体的には、例えば、(メタ)アクリルモノマー、(メタ)アクリルオリゴマ、(メタ)アクリル変性重合体などを挙げることができる。
また、(メタ)アクリル変性重合体としては、具体的には、例えば、(メタ)アクリル変性ブタジエンゴム、(メタ)アクリル変性ニトリルゴムなどを挙げることができる。
なお、「(メタ)アクリル」とは、アクリルまたはメタクリルを意味する表記である。
<光重合開始剤>
樹脂組成物が含有する光重合開始剤は、上述した光重合性モノマーの光重合を開始させるものであれば特に限定されず、例えば、アルキルフェノン類、アセトフェノン類、ベンゾインエーテル類、ベンゾフェノン類、チオキサントン類、アントラキノン類、ベンジル類、ビアセチル類等の光重合開始剤を挙げることができる。
具体的には、例えば、ベンジルジメチルケタール、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチル-1-フェニル-プロパン-1-オン、メチル-o-ベンゾイルベンゾエート、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトンなどを挙げることができる。
樹脂組成物が含有する光重合開始剤は、上述した光重合性モノマーの光重合を開始させるものであれば特に限定されず、例えば、アルキルフェノン類、アセトフェノン類、ベンゾインエーテル類、ベンゾフェノン類、チオキサントン類、アントラキノン類、ベンジル類、ビアセチル類等の光重合開始剤を挙げることができる。
具体的には、例えば、ベンジルジメチルケタール、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチル-1-フェニル-プロパン-1-オン、メチル-o-ベンゾイルベンゾエート、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトンなどを挙げることができる。
<界面活性剤>
樹脂組成物が含有する樹脂組成物は、水現像性を向上させる観点から、界面活性剤を含有していることが好ましい。
界面活性剤としては、カチオン性界面活性剤、アニオン性界面活性剤、ノニオン性界面活性剤を挙げることができる。なかでも、アニオン性界面活性剤が好ましい。
樹脂組成物が含有する樹脂組成物は、水現像性を向上させる観点から、界面活性剤を含有していることが好ましい。
界面活性剤としては、カチオン性界面活性剤、アニオン性界面活性剤、ノニオン性界面活性剤を挙げることができる。なかでも、アニオン性界面活性剤が好ましい。
アニオン性界面活性剤としては、具体的には、例えば、
ラウリン酸ナトリウム、オレイン酸ナトリウム等の脂肪族カルボン酸塩;
ラウリル硫酸エステルナトリウム、セチル硫酸エステルナトリウム、オレイル硫酸エステルナトリウム等の高級アルコール硫酸エステル塩;
ポリオキシエチレンラウリルエーテル硫酸エステルナトリウム等のポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル硫酸エステル塩;
ポリオキシエチレンオクチルフェニルエーテル硫酸エステルナトリウム、ポリオキシエチレンノニルフェニルエーテル硫酸エステルナトリウム等のポリオキシエチレンアルキルアリルエーテル硫酸エステル塩;
ドデシルスルホン酸ナトリウム、ジアルキルスルホコハク酸ナトリウム等のアルキルスルホン酸塩;
アルキルジスルホン酸塩、ドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ジブチルナフタレンスルホン酸ナトリウム、トリイソプロピルナフタレンスルホン酸ナトリウム等のアルキルアリルスルホン酸塩;

[フレキソ印刷版の製造方法]
本発明のフレキソ印刷版の製造方法は、感光層を有するフレキソ印刷版原版に対して、感光層を画像様に露光する露光工程と、露光工程の後に、上述した本発明のフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液を用いて現像し、非画像部と画像部とを形成する現像工程と、現像工程の後に、水を用いてリンスするリンス工程とを有する、製造方法である。
本発明のフレキソ印刷版の製造方法は、感光層を有するフレキソ印刷版原版に対して、感光層を画像様に露光する露光工程と、露光工程の後に、上述した本発明のフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液を用いて現像し、非画像部と画像部とを形成する現像工程と、現像工程の後に、水を用いてリンスするリンス工程とを有する、製造方法である。
〔露光工程〕
上記露光工程は、感光層に画像様に活性光線を照射することにより、活性光線の照射された領域の架橋および/または重合を惹起し、硬化させる工程である。

上記露光工程は、感光層の外面側に設けたマスクを通して露光することによって実施することができる。
また、真空フレーム露光装置を用いて行うことも好ましく、その場合、レリーフ形成層とマスクとの間の空気を排出した後、活性光線による露光が行われる。
また、露光は、酸素濃度を低下させた状態で行ってもよく、大気中で行ってもよく、特に限定されないが、酸素による重合阻害を防止する観点では、低酸素濃度で露光を行うことが好ましい。
また、真空フレーム露光装置を用いて行うことも好ましく、その場合、レリーフ形成層とマスクとの間の空気を排出した後、活性光線による露光が行われる。
また、露光は、酸素濃度を低下させた状態で行ってもよく、大気中で行ってもよく、特に限定されないが、酸素による重合阻害を防止する観点では、低酸素濃度で露光を行うことが好ましい。
〔現像工程〕
上記現像工程は、上述した本発明の水性現像液を用いて現像し、非画像部と画像部とを形成する工程であり、詳しくは、上述した本発明の水性現像液の現像方法において説明した説明した通りである、
上記現像工程は、上述した本発明の水性現像液を用いて現像し、非画像部と画像部とを形成する工程であり、詳しくは、上述した本発明の水性現像液の現像方法において説明した説明した通りである、
〔リンス工程〕
上記リンス工程は、上記現像工程で形成された非画像部と画像部の表面を、水を用いてリンスする工程である。
本発明においては、非画像部および画像部の表面などに残存した現像液が、上述した本発明の水性現像液であるため、リンス工程で用いる水によって水性現像液が希釈された場合でも、現像液中の分散物の付着および凝集を抑制することができる。
上記リンス工程は、上記現像工程で形成された非画像部と画像部の表面を、水を用いてリンスする工程である。
本発明においては、非画像部および画像部の表面などに残存した現像液が、上述した本発明の水性現像液であるため、リンス工程で用いる水によって水性現像液が希釈された場合でも、現像液中の分散物の付着および凝集を抑制することができる。
上記リンス工程におけるリンス手段としては、水道水で水洗する方法、高圧水をスプレー噴射する方法、フレキソ印刷版の現像機として公知のバッチ式または搬送式のブラシ式洗い出し機で、非画像部および画像部の表面を主に水の存在下でブラシ擦りする方法などが挙げられる。
以下に、実施例を挙げて本発明を更に詳細に説明する。以下の実施例に示す材料、使用量、割合、処理内容、処理手順等は、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない限り適宜変更することができる。したがって、本発明の範囲は以下に示す実施例により限定的に解釈されるべきものではない。
〔実施例1~9および比較例1~3〕
下記表1に示す界面活性剤、アルカリ金属炭酸塩および水を、下記表1に示す質量%となるように配合した水性現像液を調製した。
下記表1に示す界面活性剤、アルカリ金属炭酸塩および水を、下記表1に示す質量%となるように配合した水性現像液を調製した。
〔評価〕
<付着性および凝集性>
(処理現像液の調製)
市販のフレキソ印刷版原版〔FW-L、富士フイルム(株)製〕を基板側から、20Wのケミカル灯を15本並べた露光装置で15cmの距離から30秒間露光(裏露光)した。
その後、調製した各水性現像液を入れたブラシ式洗い出し機(液温50℃)で5分間現像を行った。
各水性現像液に含まれる固形分が5%になるまで、新しいフレキソ印刷版原版で現像を続け、評価用の水性現像液を作製した。
<付着性および凝集性>
(処理現像液の調製)
市販のフレキソ印刷版原版〔FW-L、富士フイルム(株)製〕を基板側から、20Wのケミカル灯を15本並べた露光装置で15cmの距離から30秒間露光(裏露光)した。
その後、調製した各水性現像液を入れたブラシ式洗い出し機(液温50℃)で5分間現像を行った。
各水性現像液に含まれる固形分が5%になるまで、新しいフレキソ印刷版原版で現像を続け、評価用の水性現像液を作製した。
(分散物付着性)
予め水を450cc入れた1000ccポリ容器に、評価用の水性現像液を50cc入れ、撹拌後24時間静置した後、ポリ容器の内壁に付着した分散物の付着性を目視で観察し、以下の基準で評価した。結果を下記表1に示す。
A:付着物なし
B:わずかに付着物あり
C:少し付着物あり
D:多くの付着物あり
予め水を450cc入れた1000ccポリ容器に、評価用の水性現像液を50cc入れ、撹拌後24時間静置した後、ポリ容器の内壁に付着した分散物の付着性を目視で観察し、以下の基準で評価した。結果を下記表1に示す。
A:付着物なし
B:わずかに付着物あり
C:少し付着物あり
D:多くの付着物あり
(分散物凝集性)
予め水を450cc入れた1000ccポリ容器に、評価用の水性現像液を50cc入れて撹拌した後、12時間静置し、液中の凝集物を目視で観察し、以下の基準で評価した。結果を下記表1に示す。
A:目視で判別できる大きな凝集物がない
B:目視で判別できる大きな凝集物がわずかに発生
C:目視で判別できる大きな凝集物が少し発生
D:目視で判別できる大きな凝集物が多く発生
予め水を450cc入れた1000ccポリ容器に、評価用の水性現像液を50cc入れて撹拌した後、12時間静置し、液中の凝集物を目視で観察し、以下の基準で評価した。結果を下記表1に示す。
A:目視で判別できる大きな凝集物がない
B:目視で判別できる大きな凝集物がわずかに発生
C:目視で判別できる大きな凝集物が少し発生
D:目視で判別できる大きな凝集物が多く発生
<画像再現性>
(フレキソ印刷版の作製)
市販のフレキソ印刷版原版〔FW-L、富士フイルム(株)製〕を基板側から、20Wのケミカル灯を15本並べた露光装置で15cmの距離から30秒間露光(裏露光)した。
その後、保護フィルムを剥がし、赤外レーザで赤外線アブレーション層にパターン〔網点:175lpi2%、独立小点:150μm径〕を形成し、上記露光装置で15cmの距離から10分間露光(主露光)した。
その後、調製した各水性現像液を入れたブラシ式洗い出し機(液温50℃)で5分間現像を行った。
その後、60℃の熱風にて水分が除去されるまで乾燥を行った。
その後、感光層上から上記露光装置で15cmの距離から10分間露光(後露光)することにより、画像部(網点および独立小点)と非画像部とを有するフレキソ印刷版を作製した。
(フレキソ印刷版の作製)
市販のフレキソ印刷版原版〔FW-L、富士フイルム(株)製〕を基板側から、20Wのケミカル灯を15本並べた露光装置で15cmの距離から30秒間露光(裏露光)した。
その後、保護フィルムを剥がし、赤外レーザで赤外線アブレーション層にパターン〔網点:175lpi2%、独立小点:150μm径〕を形成し、上記露光装置で15cmの距離から10分間露光(主露光)した。
その後、調製した各水性現像液を入れたブラシ式洗い出し機(液温50℃)で5分間現像を行った。
その後、60℃の熱風にて水分が除去されるまで乾燥を行った。
その後、感光層上から上記露光装置で15cmの距離から10分間露光(後露光)することにより、画像部(網点および独立小点)と非画像部とを有するフレキソ印刷版を作製した。
(画像再現性)
赤外線アブレーション層に形成したパターンがフレキソ印刷版に再現されているか否かを光学顕微鏡〔(株)キーエンス製、VH8000、倍率100倍〕により確認し、以下の基準で評価した。結果を下記表1に示す。
A:網点および独立小点がいずれも再現されている
B:網点および独立小点がいずれか一方のみが再現されている
C:網点および独立小点がいずれも再現されていない
赤外線アブレーション層に形成したパターンがフレキソ印刷版に再現されているか否かを光学顕微鏡〔(株)キーエンス製、VH8000、倍率100倍〕により確認し、以下の基準で評価した。結果を下記表1に示す。
A:網点および独立小点がいずれも再現されている
B:網点および独立小点がいずれか一方のみが再現されている
C:網点および独立小点がいずれも再現されていない
上記表1の各成分は、以下のものを使用した。
・ポリスルホン酸ナトリウム塩:β-ナフタリンスルホン酸ホルマリン縮合物のナトリウム塩〔デモールNL、重量平均分子量:3000、花王(株)製〕
・ポリカルボン酸ナトリウム塩:ポリスター(登録商標)OMR〔重量平均分子量:30000、日油(株)製〕
・ポリカルボン酸:マリアリム(登録商標)SC-505K〔重量平均分子量:20000、日油(株)製〕
・スルホン酸ナトリウム塩:ぺレックスSS-L〔分子量:350、花王(株)製〕
・炭酸ナトリウム:試薬(和光純薬社製)
・水:水道水
・ポリスルホン酸ナトリウム塩:β-ナフタリンスルホン酸ホルマリン縮合物のナトリウム塩〔デモールNL、重量平均分子量:3000、花王(株)製〕
・ポリカルボン酸ナトリウム塩:ポリスター(登録商標)OMR〔重量平均分子量:30000、日油(株)製〕
・ポリカルボン酸:マリアリム(登録商標)SC-505K〔重量平均分子量:20000、日油(株)製〕
・スルホン酸ナトリウム塩:ぺレックスSS-L〔分子量:350、花王(株)製〕
・炭酸ナトリウム:試薬(和光純薬社製)
・水:水道水
上記表1に示す通り、分子量が1000未満の界面活性剤を用いた場合は、繰り返し使用を想定した水性現像液中に含まれる分散物が、リンス工程を想定した水で希釈した際に、付着性が上昇してしまうことが分かった(比較例1および2)。特に、実施例1と同様、0.01質量%配合した場合には、分子量が1000未満の界面活性剤であると、分散物が凝集してしまうことが分かった(比較例3)。
これに対し、分子量が1000以上の界面活性剤を用いた場合は、良好な印刷再現性を維持し、繰り返し使用を想定した水性現像液中に含まれる分散物が、リンス工程を想定した水で希釈した際にも、付着性および凝集性を抑制できることが分かった(実施例1~19)。
特に、実施例1~4の対比から、界面活性剤の含有量が、0.01質量%超0.5質量%未満であること、分散物の付着および凝集をより抑制できることが分かった。
また、実施例5と実施例8との対比、および、実施例6と実施例9との対比から、アルカリ金属炭酸塩を配合していると、分散物の付着をより抑制できることが分かった。
これに対し、分子量が1000以上の界面活性剤を用いた場合は、良好な印刷再現性を維持し、繰り返し使用を想定した水性現像液中に含まれる分散物が、リンス工程を想定した水で希釈した際にも、付着性および凝集性を抑制できることが分かった(実施例1~19)。
特に、実施例1~4の対比から、界面活性剤の含有量が、0.01質量%超0.5質量%未満であること、分散物の付着および凝集をより抑制できることが分かった。
また、実施例5と実施例8との対比、および、実施例6と実施例9との対比から、アルカリ金属炭酸塩を配合していると、分散物の付着をより抑制できることが分かった。
Claims (7)
- 分子量1000以上の界面活性剤と、水とを含有する、フレキソ印刷版用水性現像液。
- 前記界面活性剤の含有量が、0.005~5質量%である、請求項1に記載のフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液。
- 前記界面活性剤が、アニオン性界面活性剤である、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液。
- 更に、アルカリ金属炭酸塩およびアルカリ金属水酸化物の少なくとも一方を含有する、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載のフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液。
- 非画像部と画像部を有するフレキソ印刷版の製造方法であって、
感光層を有するフレキソ印刷版原版に対して、前記感光層を画像様に露光する露光工程と、
前記露光工程の後に、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載のフレキソ印刷版用水性現像液を用いて現像し、非画像部と画像部とを形成する現像工程と、
前記現像工程の後に、水を用いてリンスするリンス工程とを有する、フレキソ印刷版の製造方法。
