Abstract

The transparent cooker (1) of the invention is designed to enable easy intervention in case of a malfunction, to prevent electrical connections from being damaged from high temperatures, and to resolve the problem of heating of outer surfaces, and comprises a side surface (2) consisting of glasses and a frame to form a quadrangular prism shaped structure, at least one metal profile (5) forming the main body by the glasses being mounted therein, a plurality of outer frames (7) enabling holding the glasses together, corner fittings (6) to fasten the metal profiles (5) to each other by joining them so as to become a quadrangular prism, electric wires (4) passed through the slots in the metal profiles (5), providing heat to the system by the electric current passed therethrough, at least one copper sheet (3) acting as a bridge by transmitting electricity between the electric wires (4) and the glasses, at least one male terminal (8) disposed in a corner fitting (6) to provide electrical connections, and at least one female terminal (9) disposed in a corner fitting (6), to engage the male terminal (8).

Description

PROFILE ASSEMBMLY AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS IN A TRANSPARENT COOKER
Technical Field
The present invention relates to profile assembly and electrical connections in transparent cookers designed to enable homogeneous cooking and visibility of its interior during cooking.
Prior Art
The ovens cooking food products by transferring the heat generated in a separate section in the oven to the cooking section by means of a fan are referred to as convectional ovens. In convectional ovens, elements such as tray level, preheating temperature, and the temperature of the product to be cooked (the product being freshly prepared or taken from a refrigerator) are important for ideal cooking.
However, a limited window area is left in convectional ovens to see the cooking compartment. It is a major problem to view all sides of particularly the larger food products from this window area. The capability to view the cooking food products consists a significant criterion in buying decisions of customers. However, the producers intend to keep this area limited due to technical limitations.
Cooker appliances are present which have all of the surfaces transparent, in which the heat required for cooking is provided by using metal oxide based transparent film heater applied on all surfaces. In general, the heating system in such appliances are described as follows: Metal oxide based, electrically conductive material with optical properties which is also capable of acting as a resistor, is applied to a surface of a glass by means of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) or similar coating methods. Heat dissipates by the coating on the glass surface exhibiting its electrical resistor characteristics, after applying said coating on a transparent surface and coupling its electrical connections.
The steps executed in coupling said metal oxide based film heater with electrical connections is as follows: conductive adhesive with silver content is spread on the edge of the glass surface being coated, and copper sheet is placed on said adhesive.
When electricity is connected by wire to any region of the copper sheet, electricity flows onto the coating from the copper sheet. The material for the sheet acting as a bridge between the electricity wires and the coating, is opted as copper due to its good electrical conductivity. Heat dissipates on the glass surface as the coating exhibits resistance against electricity. The obtained electricity values vary according to the thickness of the coating. The food products in the cooker appliance is enabled to be cooked by means of the heat obtained in this manner.
In cooker appliances operating by such type of an application, in order to prevent heat from escaping the oven, an additional glass other than the film heater coated glass and polymer based transparent material, or only vacuumed glass is used.
The side surfaces formed by glasses are placed into the slots provided in metal profiles. Then, for insulation, polymer based material is mounted into the slot disposed on the profile, thereby completing assembly. If vacuumed glass is preferred as the insulation glass, then polymer based insulation material would not be necessary.
The problem experienced in such system is that it is challenging to access a problem area when there is any mechanical or electrical problem in the transparent cooker appliance. All of the metal profiles should be disassembled to solve a problem. In addition, assembly of the glasses and the metal profiles is also difficult due to a high number of parts.
Another problem observed in such type of cooker appliances is the electricity wire connections being affected from high temperatures occurring during operation of the cooker appliance, thereby being damaged in time. The wire connections in present systems are soldered on the copper sheet through the channel holed at the ends of the side surfaces. The channels holed for each copper sheet, are joined on the regions where the corner fittings are, they advance downwards through the slots made on the corner fittings and are collected at the bottom.
State of the art European patent document no. EP0830063 mentions collecting the wire connections and the components used in the oven, on the door in a transparent cooker appliance. The electrical connection assembly described here is for a different problem.
State of the art European patent document no. EP2048912 mentions electrical power values in a transparent film coated cooker appliance. The electrical connection described here is for a different problem.
State of the art international patent document no. WO2012168009 mentions terminals and wire connections established on a heater film coating in a transparent cooker appliance. The electrical connection described here is for a different problem.
State of the art Chinese patent document no. CN102655695 mentions creating an electrical bridge between two copper sheets by adhering the sheets side by side and thereby obtaining a homogeneous heating in a transparent cooker appliance. The electrical connection described here is for a different problem.
None of the state of the art documents include a solution similar to the one in the present invention.
Brief Description of the Invention
The aim of the present invention is to obtain a cooker with an interior visible from all directions.
Another aim of the present invention is to facilitate the assembly of the glasses in a transparent cooker and the maintenance operations to be performed in case of a problem with the glasses.
Another aim of the invention is to enable easy connection of the electricity wires in a transparent cooker.
A further aim of the present invention is to protect the electricity wires in a transparent cooker.
Yet another aim of the invention is to resolve the problem of burning a user's hands, by preventing heating of the metal profiles surrounding a transparent cooker.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The appliance realized to achieve the aims of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

The transparent cooker (1) of the invention is designed to enable easy intervention in case of a malfunction, to prevent electrical connections from being damaged from high temperatures, and to resolve the problem of heating of outer surfaces, and comprises
  • a side surface (2) consisting of glasses and a frame to form a quadrangular prism shaped structure,
  • at least one metal profile (5) forming the main body by the glasses being mounted therein,
  • a plurality of outer frames (7) enabling holding the glasses together and preventing the side surfaces (2) from collapsing from the metal profiles (5),
  • corner fittings (6) to fasten the metal profiles (5) to each other by joining them so as to become a quadrangular prism,
  • electric wires (4) passed through the slots in the metal profiles (5), providing heat to the system by the electric current passed therethrough,
  • at least one copper sheet (3) acting as a bridge by transmitting electricity between the electric wires (4) and the glasses,
  • at least one male terminal (8) disposed in a corner fitting (6) to provide electrical connections, and
  • at least one female terminal (9) disposed in a corner fitting (6), to engage the male terminal (8).
The transparent cooker (1) of the invention is formed by mounting glasses coated with metal oxide based film heater to each other so as to form a quadrangular prism. The glasses comprise the metal profiles (5) surrounding the glasses and the corner fittings (6) enabling coupling the metal profiles to each other. A seat to place the side surfaces (2) is provided on the surfaces of the metal profiles (5) facing the internal volume.
Electric connections of the glasses are established after placement of a side surface (2) in the seat provided on a metal profile (5). In the transparent cooker (1), terminals (8), (9) are provided on one side of the side surfaces (2) to provide electrical connections. A male terminal (8) connects to a female terminal (9) disposed in a hole bored in a corner fitting (6), thereby facilitating the assembly of the electric wires (4). The electric wires (4) are passed through the slots provided in the metal profiles (5).
Copper sheets (3) are provided in the side surfaces (2), acting as a bridge by transmitting electricity between the electric wires (4) and the glasses. The ends of said copper plates (3) are cut in an L-shape. Terminals (8), (9) are connected, and the electric wires (4) passing through the slot in a metal profile (5) are mounted to the cut end.
The outer frame (7) is mounted on the metal profiles (5), in order to conceal the metal profiles (5) forming the skeleton of the transparent cooker (1) and to prevent a user's hand from being burnt due to heating of the metal profiles (5). The outer frame (7) also inhibits the side surfaces (2) of the transparent cooker (1) from collapsing from the metal profiles (5), and enables the cooker (1) to have a better aesthetic appearance. Any heat-resistant material can be selected as the material of the outer frame (7).
Tabs are provided on the outer frame (7), facilitating it to engage with the metal profiles (5). The assembly of the transparent cooker (1) is completed by engaging the tabs of the outer frame (7) to the tab slots provided on the metal profiles (5). Thus, transfer of the heated air to the exterior through the portion of the metal profiles (5) facing the internal volume is prevented, providing thermal insulation.
The heat from the inner portion of a metal profile (5) subjected to the heat in the internal volume of the transparent cooker (1), first contacts the side surfaces (2). Here, heat transfer is decreased thanks to the side surfaces (2) being made of a material with low thermal conductivity coefficient. The heat dissipated via the side surfaces (2) reaches the outer frame (7), and some more heat is lost here. Since the outer frame (7) has a low temperature due to the lost heat, the users are prevented from burning their hands.

Claims (7)

  1. A transparent cooker (1) designed to enable intervention in case of malfunctions, to prevent electrical connections from being damaged from high temperatures, and to resolve the problem of heating of outer surfaces, comprising
    - a side surface (2) consisting of glasses and a frame to form a quadrangular prism shaped structure,
    - at least one metal profile (5) forming the main body by the glasses being mounted therein,
    - a plurality of outer frames (7) enabling holding the glasses together and preventing the side surfaces (2) from collapsing from the metal profiles (5),
    - corner fittings (6) to fasten the metal profiles (5) to each other by joining them so as to become a quadrangular prism,
    - electric wires (4) passed through the slots in the metal profiles (5), providing heat to the system by the electric current passed therethrough,
    - at least one copper sheet (3) acting as a bridge by transmitting electricity between the electric wires (4) and the glasses,
    - at least one male terminal (8) disposed in a corner fitting (6) to provide electrical connections, and
    - at least one female terminal (9) disposed in a corner fitting (6), to engage the male terminal (8).
  2. A transparent cooker (1) according to claim 1, comprising side surfaces (2) made of material with low thermal conductivity coefficient.
  3. A transparent cooker (1) according to claim 1, formed by engaging the tabs of the outer frame (7) to the tab slots provided in the metal profiles (5).
  4. A transparent cooker (1) according to claim 1, comprising an outer frame (7) produced using heat-resistant materials.
  5. A transparent cooker (1) according to claim 1, comprising copper sheets (3) whose ends are cut in an L-shape.
  6. A transparent cooker (1) according to claim 1, formed by mounting glasses coated with metal oxide based film heater by means of the metal profiles (5) so as to form a quadrangular prism.
  7. A transparent cooker (1) according to claim 1, comprising on their surfaces facing the internal volume, metal profiles (5) having a seat to place the side surfaces (2).
