Abstract

Integrated uninterruptable power supply (UPS) and load leveling system contains a UPS configured to receive power from a facility power grid and to supply power to a protected load, a flow battery system electrically connected to the UPS configured to selectively store power from the UPS and provide power to the UPS, and an electrical management system (EMS) configured to control charging and discharging of the flow battery system, such that the wattage of a load applied to the facility power grid remains below a threshold wattage. The threshold wattage may be a demand charge wattage threshold.
