The food maker for cooking of a food material comprising a base plate having a base plate platform for preparing various food materials and a heating element adapted below the base plate platform, a top plate to provide adequate heat from the top to the food material placed on the base plate platform, at least one ingredient chamber having at least one ingredient compartment for storing ingredients, and an ingredient dispensing unit connected to the ingredient compartment, and a cooking control unit connected to the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber.

Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a food maker.
Background Art
[0002] Various cooking devices available in the market have limited use for cooking of the food, for example, a chapati maker device can be used only for making a chapati and its multiple use is restricted. In addition, these devices lack automation and have to be operated manually thereby making it cumbersome for the user to use it with an ease. Therefore, the present invention solves one or more of the aforesaid issues.
Summary of Invention
[0003] In an embodiment a food maker is disclosed. The food maker for cooking of a food material comprising a base plate having a base plate platform for preparing various food materials and a heating element adapted below the base plate platform, wherein the heating element is connected to a cooking controller for providing adequate heat to cook the food material; a top plate to provide adequate heat from the top to the food material placed on the base plate platform, wherein a top plate platform of the top plate is connected to the base plate platform by a connector, the connector provides variable upwards and downwards movement of the top plate platform based on instructions received from the cooking controller; at least one ingredient chamber having at least one ingredient compartment for storing ingredients, and an ingredient dispensing unit connected to the ingredient compartment, wherein the ingredient dispensing unit is connected to the cooking controller to dispense appropriate quantity of ingredient on the base plate platform; and a cooking control unit connected to the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber for: (a) configuring various parameters for operating the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber; (b) providing adequate heat from the base plate platform and the top plate platform for cooking of the food material; (c) receiving input parameters from the sensors such as temperature of the base plate platform, the top plate platform, upwards or downwards position of the top plate platform, position of the dispensing unit; and (d) operating a spreading and dispensing unit at appropriate time interval for spreading of the ingredients on the base plate platform, monitoring time elapsed for cooking, and dispensing of cooked food from the base plate platform.

Detailed Description of the Invention
[001 1] In an embodiment, the present invention provides a food maker for cooking of a food material comprising a base plate; a top plate; at least one ingredient chamber; and a cooking control unit connected to the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber.
[0012] According to the present invention, the cooking control unit comprises an input unit, a selection unit, at least one sensor, a storage unit, and a cooking controller connected to the input unit, the selection unit, the sensor, and the storage unit.
[0013] According to the present invention, the cooking control unit connected to the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber for (a) configuring various parameters for operating the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber; (b) providing adequate heat from the base plate platform and the top plate platform for cooking of the food material; (c) receiving input parameters from the sensors such as temperature of the base plate platform, the top plate platform, upwards or downwards position of the top plate platform, position of the dispensing unit; and (d) operating a spreading and dispensing unit at appropriate time interval for spreading of the ingredients on the base plate platform, monitoring time elapsed for cooking, and dispensing of cooked food from the base plate platform. [0027] Referring Figure 1 shows a food maker (100) according to an embodiment of present invention. The food maker (100) comprising a housing (120), a detachable cover (110) adapted to the housing (120), a cooking control unit (130) for controlling the operation of cooking the food, and ingredient compartment (140, 141 , 142) for storing of ingredients.
[0028] Referring Figure 2 shows a food maker (200) with detachable top cover (210) according to an embodiment of present invention. The food maker comprising a base plate (230) adapted to the housing (220); a top plate (240) positioned upward adapted to the housing (220); a dispensing unit (250, 251) for dispensing of ingredients from the ingredient compartments (280, 281 , 282) on the base plate (230); an spreading and dispensing unit (260) for spreading of ingredients placed on the base plate (230) from the dispensing unit; and a cooking control unit (270) for controlling the operation of the base plate (230), the top plate (240), the dispensing unit (250, 251), and the spreading and dispensing unit (260).
[0029] As shown in figure 2, the spreading and dispensing unit (260) is used for spreading the ingredients (231) dispensed from the dispensing unit (250, 251) on the base plate (230), dispensing of cooked food from the base plate (230), and cleaning of the base plate (230).
[0030] As shown in figure 2, the dispensing unit (250) is used for dispensing of the ingredients such as flour batter, whisked egg content, vegetable paste etc. and the dispensing unit (251) is used for dispensing of liquid ingredient such as oil and ghee.
[0031] As shown in figure 2, the cooking control unit (270) comprises of cooking controller (not shown) for controlling and operating the base plate (230), the top plate (240), the dispensing unit (250, 251), and the spreading and dispensing unit (260).
[0032] Referring figure 3 shows a food maker (300) with a top plate (330) in downward position according to an embodiment of present invention. As shown in figure 3, the top plate (330) is placed on top of the food item (340) to provide adequate heat for cooking of food item from the top.
[0033] As shown in figure 3, the top plate (330) is connected to the housing (310) by a movable arm (331) driven by an arm motor (332). The arm motor (332) on receipt of instructions from a cooking control unit (not shown) operates the movable arm (331) to position the top plate (330) at the variable upward and/or down position over the base plate (320).
[0034] As shown in figure 3, the dispensing unit (360, 361) dispenses ingredients from the ingredient compartment (not shown) on the base plate (320), and an spreading and dispensing unit (350) for spreading of ingredients placed on the base plate (320) and dispensing of the food from the base plate (320). The spreading and dispensing unit (350) enables the timely dispensation of the cooked food from the base plate (320) to prevent charring of the cooked food.
[0035] Referring figure 4 shows a food maker (400) with a top plate (420) in upward position according to an embodiment of present invention. As shown in figure 4, the top plate (420) connected by a movable arm (421) to a housing (440). The top plate (420) positioned upward during the dispensing of the ingredients (431) from a dispensing unit (430) on the base plate (410).
[0036] Referring figure 5 shows exploded view of base plate (500) according to an embodiment of present invention. The base plate (500) comprising a base plate platform (510), a heating element (520), adapted below the base plate platform (510), for providing adequate heat to the base plate platform (510), a glass wool layer (530), and a heater housing (540) to secure the base plate platform (510), the heating element (520), and the glass wool layer (530).
[0037] As shown in figure 5, a food item (550) is placed at the top of the base plate platform (510). [0038] Referring figure 6 shows ingredient chambers (600) according to an embodiment of present invention. As shown, the ingredient chamber comprises of ingredient compartments (621 , 620) secured to the housing (610).
[0039] As shown in Figure 6, the ingredient compartments (621 , 620) are connected to at least one pressure pump (630), wherein each ingredient compartment may be connected to separate pressure pump. The pressure pump assembly (630) connected to the dispensing unit (640) for dispensing of ingredients (650) on the base plate (660).
Industrial Applicability
[0040] It is apparent that the food maker having a base plate platform, the top plate platform having a variable upwards and/or downwards movements, a ingredient dispensing unit for dispensing of food ingredients at desired location on the base plate, a spreading and dispensing unit for dispensing of cooked food and cleaning the base plate platform, and a configurable control unit provides efficient and automatic cooking of the food without or minimal human intervention. In addition, the food maker reduces the cost of producing the cooked food, the time to cook food, and serving more customers.
[0041] Furthermore, the food maker enables cooking of uniform high quality food with wide range of menu e.g. chapati, paratha, dosa, uttapam, pancake, omelette. The spreading and dispensing unit further enables the timely dispensation of the cooked food from the base plate to prevent charring of the cooked food.

Since modifications of the disclosed embodiments incorporating the substance of the invention may occur to person skilled in the art, the invention should be construed to include everything within the scope of the disclosure.

Claims

Claims We claim:
[Claim 1] A food maker for cooking of a food material comprising:
a base plate having a base plate platform for preparing various food materials and a heating element adapted below the base plate platform, wherein the heating element is connected to a cooking controller for providing adequate heat to cook the food material;
a top plate to provide adequate heat from the top to the food material placed on the base plate platform, wherein a top plate platform of the top plate is connected to the base plate platform by a connector, the connector provides variable upwards and downwards movement of the top plate platform based on instructions received from the cooking controller;
at least one ingredient chamber having at least one ingredient compartment for storing ingredients, and an ingredient dispensing unit connected to the ingredient compartment, wherein the ingredient dispensing unit is connected to the cooking controller to dispense appropriate quantity of ingredient on the base plate platform; and a cooking control unit connected to the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber for:
(a) configuring various parameters for operating the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber;
(b) providing adequate heat from the base plate platform and the top plate platform for cooking of the food material;
(c) receiving input parameters from the sensors such as temperature of the base plate platform, the top plate platform, upwards or downwards position of the top plate platform, position of the dispensing unit; and
(d) operating a spreading and dispensing unit at appropriate time interval for spreading of the ingredients on the base plate platform, monitoring time elapsed for cooking, and dispensing of cooked food from the base plate platform.
[Claim 2] The food maker as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the cooking control unit is configured to operate the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber at the appropriate configured time interval to automatically cook the food.
[Claim 3] The food maker as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the cooking control unit comprises:
an input unit for providing option to a user for configuring various options regarding cooking of the food;
a selection unit displaying options to user for cooking;
at least one sensor to receive parameters such as temperature of the base plate platform, the top plate platform, upwards or downwards position of the top plate platform, position of the dispensing unit; a storage unit to store predefined cooking options or cooking options configured by the user; and
a cooking controller connected to the input unit, the selection unit, the sensor, and the storage unit for operating the base plate, the top plate, the ingredient chamber, and the spreading and dispensing unit.
[Claim 4] The food maker as claimed in claim 3, wherein the cooking controller is configured to receive various input parameters based on option selected from the selection unit and the sensor, and control the operation of the base plate, the top plate, and the ingredient chamber.
[Claim 5] The food maker as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the base plate comprises:
a base plate platform for putting of the various food materials to be cooked;
a heating element connected to the cooking controller of the cooking control unit to provide sufficient heat to the base plate platform for cooking of the food material; and a spreading and dispensing unit connected to the cooking controller of the cooking control unit to move the cooked food from the base plate platform.
[Claim 6] The food maker as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the top plate comprises:
a top plate platform having a heating element for providing heat to the food item from the top; and
a connector connected to the base plate platform of the base plate and the cooking controller of the cooking control unit for variable upward and downward positioning of of the top plate platform.
[Claim 7] The food maker as claimed in claim 6, wherein the connector comprises a rotatable mechanism to move the top plate platform upward and downward to provide sufficient temperature for the cooking of the food material from the top, based on the instructions received from the cooking controller.
[Claim 8] The food maker as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the ingredient chamber comprises:
at least one ingredient compartment for storing ingredients; an ingredient dispensing unit for dispensing the ingredients; and a connection unit connecting the ingredient compartment and the ingredient dispensing unit.
[Claim 9] The food maker as claimed in claim 8, wherein the ingredient dispensing unit is connected to the cooking controller of the cooking control unit, the cooking controller unit allows the ingredient dispensing unit to dispense appropriate quantity of food material on the base plate platform during the cooking or when the food material has been cooked or both.
[Claim 10] The food maker as claimed in claim 8, wherein the ingredient dispensing unit comprises a moving mechanism, the moving mechanism is configured to move the ingredient dispensing unit over the base plate platform for dispensing of the ingredient at a desired location on a base platform on receipt of instruction from the cooking controller.
