Abstract
The invention relates to a system, comprising a number of portable noise-reduction devices for actively reducing the levels of acoustic noise in external locations generated by undesired sources of noise. The noise-reduction devices have adaptive capacities for noise attenuation and they are installed around the area of noise generation. The noise-reduction devices have their own capacity for processing signals or this is centrallised in an acoustic processing unit. Said unit consists of an adaptive phase shift and phase correction unit, and a unit for controlling the speakers, which synthesises the sound components required for reducing the perceptible noise.
