Description

COMPOSITION HYDRAULIQUE GRAND FROID  HYDRAULIC COMPOSITION LARGE COLD
The invention relates to the field of lubricants and in particular the field of lubricant compositions used as hydraulic fluid, more particularly implemented at very low temperatures.
The development of activities in polar climate (in Russia, Siberia for example) requires the adaptation of some public works machinery, such as construction machinery, shovels, conveyor equipment, to allow their operation at lower temperatures. at -40 ° C. Such machines can not operate with the usual hydraulic compositions under such temperature conditions. To operate at such temperatures, it is necessary that the lubricating composition has a very low pour point, generally less than -55 ° C and a viscosity index generally greater than 300 to allow the viscosity of the lubricating composition to be stabilized. whatever the temperature.
Thus lubricating compositions for use at temperatures below -40 ° C may comprise base oils having a high viscosity index, such as silicones, but this type of oil is expensive and unsuitable for industrial use . It is known to add a very fluid mineral base oil with a polymer to improve its viscosity index. This is particularly the case for hydraulic fluids that combine a very fluid naphthenic or paraffinic base oil with a polymer for improving the viscosity index, such as polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
A problem encountered when using such hydraulic fluids at temperatures below -40 ° C is the poor shear stability of these fluids, which can result in a significant loss of kinematic viscosity of the fluid. This poor shear stability is due to the addition, generally important (from 30 to 50% by weight of active material), of polymer in the lubricant composition.
In addition to the poor shear strength, such a lubricant composition may not be compatible with the joints of the plant, particularly nitrile seals, because of choice of base oil. In particular, it is possible to observe swelling of the nitrile seals in contact with the lubricating composition.
There is therefore a need for lubricating compositions allowing the operation of machines at low temperatures, for example at temperatures below -40 ° C., in particular in a polar medium, these compositions preferably having a good shear stability and compatibility with seals acceptable.
It has now been found that the combination of a base oil with a very low pour point and a low kinematic viscosity at 40 ° C with a thickener and a viscosity index improver can provide a lubricating composition having itself a very low pour point, allowing the operation of machines at very low temperatures and preferably ensuring good shear stability and good compatibility with the joints.
La présente invention fournit une composition lubrifiante comprenant : Thus, the invention provides a hydraulic composition which makes it possible to provide a solution to all or part of the problems of lubricating compositions intended to be used at very low temperatures. The present invention provides a lubricant composition comprising:

The kinematic viscosities at 40 and 100 ° C are measured according to the ISO 3104 standard of July 15, 1997.
The viscosity index was calculated according to ISO 2909 of December 15, 2002.

The lubricating composition of the prior art CL4 exhibits a loss of viscosity at 100 ° C. after 20% KRL shear greater than 30%, mainly because of the absence of thickener in the composition, unlike the lubricating compositions according to the present invention in which this loss never exceeds 30%.
This demonstrates in particular the superiority of the compositions according to the invention.
