Definitions
- the invention relates to a cable winding band, in particular for wrapping cables in automobiles, with a band-shaped carrier, and with an adhesive coating on at least one side of the carrier, wherein the carrier consists of a single layer of fabric and the threads of the carrier has a yarn thickness of at least 200 have dtex.
- Cable wrapping tapes for wrapping cables in automobiles are known in various designs.
- an increased abrasion resistance is currently increasingly required. This is primarily attributable to the fact that the cable or cable harnesses sheathed with such cable winding tapes are experiencing increasingly narrow and compact installation in motor vehicles, so that the requirements for scuff protection and, respectively, abrasion resistance and, in particular, abrasion increase.
- the standard is typically given by the automotive industry with the standard LV 312-1 "Adhesive tapes for cable harnesses in motor vehicles” (2009) as a common test guideline of the companies Audi, BMW, Daimler Benz and VW become.
- the abrasion resistance is determined on the basis of DIN ISO 622 such that the adhesive tape in question and to be examined is first glued to a mandrel or metal rod with a diameter of 5 mm. With a scraping tool, which has a needle diameter of 0.45 mm, then, taking into account a weight of 7 N, the number of strokes is determined
- the cable winding tape used at this point consists of a yarn or individual threads, which are formed of polyamide material.
- polyamide yarns or polyamide yarns are advantageous in terms of achievable abrasion resistance and abrasion resistance of the thus prepared adhesive tape and in particular cable winding tape.
- the production costs for such fabrics are high because they rely on costly polyamide yarns. This is where the invention starts.
- the invention is based on the technical problem of further developing a cable winding band of the structure described at the beginning in such a way that, taking into account comparable abrasion resistance as in the prior art, the production costs are reduced.
- a generic cable winding tape is characterized in the context of the invention in that high-strength polyester threads are used as threads. It has proven particularly useful in this context, when such polyester threads are used as high-tensile polyester threads whose so-called fineness-related maximum tensile strength or tenacity of more than
- the fineness-related maximum tensile force is preferably more than 10 N / dtex. That is, the fineness of tenacity is 0.05 N / dtex and 0.1 N / dtex or more.
- the measurement of the maximum tensile force is carried out according to the specifications in DIN EN ISO 2062.
- polyester threads in the context of the invention have a thread or yarn thickness of at least 200 dtex, it follows that each individual polyester thread has a maximum tensile force of more than 20 N (0.1 N x 200).
- the number of warp threads in the fabric of the carrier is in the range of 15 to 60 / cm, this results in tensile strengths in the range of 300 N / cm (20 N x 15 / cm) and more. Even higher tear strengths can be achieved, especially since the fineness-related maximum tensile force is preferably more than 10 cN / dtex. For example, assuming the range of 30 cN / dtex for the tenacity at fineness and assuming that the individual polyester yarns have a yarn tenacity of at least 200 dtex at a minimum, the respective maximum tenacity for each individual polyester yarn is 60 N ( 0.3 N / dtex x 200 dtex).
- the invention proceeds from a lower limit of 200 dtex for each individual thread (weft thread and warp thread). Most preferably, the yarn count of the respective polyester yarns is more than 280 dtex. According to a further preferred embodiment, a yarn count or thread thickness of more than 350 dtex, preferably one of more than 400 dtex and in particular a yarn count or thread thickness of the polyester thread used of 470 dtex and more is observed.
- the individual polyester filaments are generally formed from more than 20 filaments. Usually the respective polyester thread consists of more than 24 filaments. As an upper limit for the number of filaments, the invention usually recommends such that the respective polyester thread consists of less than 100 filaments. Preferably, a range of 24 to 96 filaments is observed for the polyester filaments.
- the cable winding band according to the invention as a whole can be so much improved that an abrasion class of at least D on a mandrel with a diameter of 5 mm is achieved in accordance with the standard LV 312 already referred to above.
- the cable winding tapes according to the invention meet the abrasion class E according to LV 312.
- the carrier consisting of the single fabric layer is generally equipped with a maximum thickness of 0.5 mm. Usually the thickness is in the range of 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm.
- the carrier in question and constructed from the single layer of fabric typically has a basis weight which is in the range of 100 g / m 2 to 250 g / m 2 .
- the number of weft threads in the fabric of the wearer is in the range of 10 to 30 / cm
- the number of warp threads in the fabric is generally slightly higher.
- the number of warp threads in the fabric of the wearer may be in the range of 15 to 607 cm.
- a suitable adhesive coating such is recommended based on a pressure-sensitive adhesive, which provides a total of a self-adhesive adhesive coating.
- acrylate adhesives have typically proven to be particularly favorable and here in particular those which are UV-crosslinkable.
- the pressure sensitive adhesive in question and the adhesive coating is applied to the belt substrate generally having a basis weight ranging from 50g / m 2 to 200g / m 2.
- a cable winding tape is provided, which is predestined and suitable in particular for wrapping cables in automobiles.
- This can be attributed in particular to the abrasion resistance achievable in this context, which at least meets abrasion class D in accordance with the LV 312 standard.
- even the abrasion class E is achieved. That is, the abrasion resistance is high or very high, and in the case of the abrasion class E, 5000 strokes and more are observed until the above-described sample is worn through the 5 mm mandrel.
- polyester threads have a fineness-related maximum tensile force which is in the region of significantly more than 5 cN / detex.
- a fineness-related maximum tensile force of 3.5 cN / dtex in the maximum is observed for conventional polyester fibers.
