Definitions

  • Every driver has a unique driving preference. Some just need a vehicle that can be used for everyday use such as commuting to work and travelling long distances. Some just need a vehicle for recreational purposes like racing and drifting. Many vehicles offer front-wheel drive, rear- wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Creating a vehicle that will satisfy consumers is the reason why this invention was brought into existence. Having the ability to change the drivetrain instantaneously through a push of a button will dynamically change the driving experience and ability to handle different road conditions as necessary.

Abstract

The drivetrain which controls power to either front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle interchangeably, can be manipulated by ECU (Electronic Control Unit) which is the box located near the drivetrain area of a vehicle. Λ driver can switch the drivetrain instantaneously through a push of a button while in motion or while in stationary mode. This will allow for better traction control for everyday driving or recreational use.

Description

Background On The Invention
Every driver has a unique driving preference.

Claims

Claims
1. The drivetrain which controls power to either front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or all- wheel drive vehicle interchangeably, can be manipulated by ECU (Electronic Control Unit) which is the box located near the drivetrain area of a vehicle. A driver can switch the drivetrain instantaneously through a push of a button while in motion or while in stationary mode. This will allow for better traction control for everyday driving or recreational use.
2. The vehicle operator (driver) in Fig. 1 uses steering wheel (1) to control vehicle
drivetrain in an upright position.
3. The steering mechanism in Fig. 3 allows the vehicle to turn left or right. There are three buttons on the steering wheel labeled "F", "A", "R" accessible by right thumb to access the drivetrain preference. F stands for front-wheel drive option. A stands for all-wheel drive option. R stands for rear-wheel drive option.
4. Fig. 4A (Tachometer) and Fig. 4B are located on the dashboard of a vehicle. Fig. 4A
indicates which drivetrain mode is in current operation. Fig. 4B is an actual box (referred to as the Differential Control Switch Mechanism) with indicator lights which alerts the driver of current drivetrain mode along with two flip switches that allow full control of the differential power between front and rear axle of the vehicle.
5. In Fig. 2 (used as an example to demonstrate concept), a microchip will be added to an ECU, also known as Electronic Control Unit (2), that will control the drivetrain of a vehicle. Tn any event of a malfunction of manual selection of drivetrain options on the steering wheel (Fig. 3) or unforeseen conditions, a default microchip (3) will
automatically activate the Electronic Control Unit to a default setting of front-wheel drive until necessary repairs are made to the vehicle. The ECU (2) controls the differential (4,5) drivetrain options from Fig, 3 (Steering wheel buttons : F, A, R).
