Abstract

An indoor BBQ griller lite is constructed to include a plurality of upward pointing V-shaped members, the highest points of the members providing a grilling surface and the lowest points of the members forming a griller base for mounting purpose, the griller base having outer edge walls upwardly protruded with a handle extending from one outer wall, said members also each having sloped sides on which oil or grease will flow downward and outward through coated, heat-resistant path to oil depositories located at outer walls.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention relates to an indoor BBQ griller lite and, more particularly, to such an indoor BBQ griller lite with a plurality of upward pointing V-shaped members, the highest points of the said members providing grilling surfaces and the lowest points of the said members forming a griller base for mounting purpose, with each of the said members having sloped sides for grease drains.
BACKGROUND ART
Presently, it is difficult to use grilling devices indoor. There are two reasons for this: (1) smoke that arises from food typically associated with grilling (e.g., meat-related products); and (2) large quantities of oil or grease produced from such food, which create fire hazards. Current indoor grilling devices do not adequately address these problems. The present invention addresses these problems, while also simulating a true BBQ taste and experience.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
This invention relates to an indoor BBQ griller lite with a plurality of upward pointing V- shaped members and downward and outward sloped grease drains.
An object of this invention is to replicate true outdoor BBQ results by allowing (1) heat from a heat source to travel upward into the upward pointing V-shaped members, (2) medium-intensity heat pockets to be created in the spaces between the said members and (3) food that is placed on the indoor BBQ griller lite to be charred and grilled in a manner similar to an outdoor BBQ griller.
The above-mentioned heat flow is clearly depicted in FIG. 9 of the drawing. Another object of this invention is to provide a coated, heat-resistant oil drainage path that prevents oil-related fire hazards, such as oil splatters or oil falling on a heat source. Food is placed at the tips of the upward pointing V-shaped members, which form grilling surfaces. The said members are clearly depicted in FIG.l and FIG.2 of the drawing. Oil or grease from food will flow downward on the sloped sides of the said members. Oil or grease will then fall on the crevices between the said members and flow outward towards the oil depositories located at the edges of the griller. This downward and outward flow of oil or grease is depicted in FIG. 10. The external surfaces of the said members, the crevices between the said members and the oil depositories - collectively constituting the oil drainage path - will each have a heat-resistant coating and/or be comprised of heat- resistant material. Such coatings are depicted by the shaded areas in FIG. 8 and FIG. 9. A further object of this invention is to drastically minimize the amount of smoke produced by having oil or grease travel through the above-mentioned heat-resistant oil drainage path depicted in FIG.10.
A still further object of this invention is to provide an indoor BBQ griller lite which will fit over any indoor heating source, such as gas or electric stove.
Still another object of this invention is to provide an indoor BBQ griller lite with a handle attached to an outer wall, so as to balance the weight of the indoor BBQ griller lite when lifting or carrying it. This handle is clearly depicted in FIG. 1, FIG. 2, FIG. 3, FIG. 4, FIG. 5, FIG. 6, and FIG.7 of the drawing.
Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be readily apparent from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings. BRIEF DESCRIPITON OF THE DRAWING
