- FIG. 15A - FIG. 15E are side views of an assembly according to one embodiment of an aspect of the present invention, in different orientations.
- FIG. 1 illustrates a sensor according to an embodiment of an aspect of the present invention.
- the illustrated sensor consists of a structural row of units each comprising two mirror sections 6a, 6b positioned symmetrically with respect to a pick-up line 5 which extends in the center of the two mirror sections 6a, 6b, and which contains a heat transfer fluid, according to a parabola arc (see FIGs 14 for example), and wheels 4 of smaller size than the two sections 6a, 6b of assembled mirrors 6, ie the radius D / 2 of the wheels 4 is smaller that the width d of each section 6a, 6b (D ⁇ 2d).
- the assembly of the two sections of mirrors 6a, 6b can be rotated completely from a position where the concave surface of the sensor, formed by the two mirror sections 6a, 6b, faces upwards (see Fig. 15d) to a position where the convex surface of the sensor, formed by the two mirror sections 6a, 6b, is directed upwards (see FIG 15A).
- Each mirror 6a, 6b has two lateral flanges 25, 27 opposite and two longitudinal edges, outer 21, and inner 23 opposite, each of the two mirrors being longitudinally secured to the other mirror, i) along their edges respective internal longitudinal members 23 by at least one securing device positioned in the center of the arc of the parabola they form and discussed below in relation to FIGS. 11-14 for example; and ii) at each lateral flange 25, 27 by a wheel support 31 at at least two distinct bearing points 39, 33 (see FIGS.
- FIG. 2B shows the assembly between sections of mirrors 6a, 6b, wheels 4, and the capture line 5.
- Support arms, or caloarms, 13 support the capture line 5 between the wheels 4, in the center of the arc of the parable.
- FIG. 3A is an exploded schematic view of the sandwich composition of a mirror section. Each mirror section is structuring. Different layers form a non-uniform internal structure in the mass. Also illustrated are details of reinforcing elements between mirrors and wheels. Structuring elements, comprising for example a mirror plate 12, a rear plate 14, an internal extrusion 9, ie along the inner longitudinal flange 23, an external extrusion 10, ie along the outer longitudinal flange 21, and an intermediate longitudinal reinforcement 2, form an envelope and allow the distribution of the load over a large area and thus limit the risk of tearing or breakage of the mirror.
- Mirror anchor rods 130 provide the mechanical link between the wheels and the mirror sections.
- a lower arch 1 makes it possible to stiffen the structure at the levels of the mirror anchors 130.
- the internal structure of the mirror thus comprises at least two inner layers, namely an upper layer 15 based on a triaxial glass fiber or carbon fiber by example, whose thickness is preferably at most 5% of the thickness of the mirror, and a lower layer 16 based on a rigid foam for example polystyrene.
- the envelope format namely the mirror plate 12 and the rear plate 14, made of aluminum for example, one has been treated, or the mirror plate 12, to obtain a reflecting power.
- the layers are bonded with an epoxy type glue, for example.
- FIG. 4B is a side view of the mirror showing the mirror anchor rods 130 as illustrated in FIG. 4A, the lower layer 16 may be composed of 3 panels, 16a, 16b, 16c.
- the lateral flanges 25, 27 of the mirror sections have two widths S and S, with s less than S, allowing sufficient opening to disengage the wheel supports (see FIG.1 for example).
- This shape of the lateral flanges 25, 27 of the mirror sections allows the use of wheels 4 all of the same diameter, smaller than the assembled mirror sections (s ⁇ S), to allow the rotation of assembled mirrors up to 275 ° without coming into contact with the wheel supports.
- the mirror section locally, that is, where there are the mirror anchor rods 130, must be reinforced so that to ensure the distribution of mechanical stresses, as shown in FIG. 3B: the external extrusion 10, the mirror plate 12, the internal extrusion 9, and the mirror rear plate 14 allow this reinforcement, forming an envelope, ie a closed cell-type mirror structure, illustrated in FIG. 4B.
- the wheels 4, as illustrated in FIGS. 5, 9 or 10, for example, can be formed for example from a square tube. Their function is to transmit a controlled rotation movement to the mirrors and serve as a securing element between longitudinally adjacent mirror sections s1, s2, s3, s4 (see for example FIGs 1 and 2).
- FIGs. 5 show the assembly of a wheel 4 with ribs 2 and reinforcements 300 allowing the support and positioning of the mirrors.
- the wheel cross-members 2 allow the side flange 25, 27 of the mirrors to be secured to the wheels 4.
- Mirror fixing holes 7 receive the mirror anchor rods 130 of the mirrors (see FIG.3b), so as to position the mirrors precisely. mirrors and get the precise parabola arc desired, thus ensuring the optical precision at the focus of the dish, and a reduced mounting time.
- These wheel axles 2 are laser cut in a very precise manner with the positioning of pre-established fixing holes 7.
- These crosspieces 2 are then fixed to the wheels 4 by means of bolts and provided with structural reinforcements 300 in order to give mechanical force between each of the cross members 2.
- the mirror sections can undergo lateral forces due to a variety from sources.
- the simple thermal expansion of a row of mirrors 30 meters long makes the assembly move considerably in winter compared to summer, for example. 300 reinforcements across 2 prevent the bends 2 from bending under the effect of such forces for example.
- FIG. 6 is a side view of a wheel axle 2. It shows the precise position of the positioning holes 7, both the fixing holes 41 between the ribs 2 and the wheel 4 as the holes 7 for fixing the mirrors 6 through 2.
- FIG. 7 is an exploded view of a wheel support 31, including side arches 30 and radial supports 10.
- Adjustment rods 20 connect the wheel support 31, via the radial supports 10, to an anchor head 42 supported by an anchoring pile 100 (see FIGS.10, 14), allowing the radial supports 10 to be adjusted along two axes, which allows the optical adjustment of the sensor.
- Casters 50 allow the rolling of the wheels on radial supports 10 while limiting friction.
- the width of the radial supports 10 makes it possible to resume the thermal expansion of an assembled sensor row.
- the side arches 30 are identical, which simplifies the management of parts.
- FIGs. 8 are views of the wheel support 31 of FIG. 7, assembled.
- a width of about 200 mm between the side arches 30 for a typical assembly of 100 'length for example, allows absorbing wheel positioning fluctuations due to the expansion of the materials, for example under the effect of temperature variations between winter and summer.
- the wheel support 31, fixed by the adjustment rods 20 in oblong holes of the anchor heads 42, for example, to the anchor heads 42 is adjustable in translation and rotation to absorb the ground anchor installation tolerances, such as ground anchor piles 100 (FIG 15), providing the necessary accuracy for aligning and swaying an assembled row as illustrated for example in FIGs. 1 and 2.
- FIGS. 9 show a wheel support 110, typically at the end of a row of a unit assembly according to the present invention, which essentially serves to fix the row vertically to anchor heads 42, or beams for example (see FIGS. 2).
- the parabolic shape of the sensor leads to lift and drag loads. These forces tend to propel the sensor vertically, to the sky or to the ground. Depending on the inclination of the mirrors and the wind trajectory, the resulting force on the sensor can be very variable. Supports 101 thus make it possible to maintain the mirrors in place in the vertical axis while limiting the frictional forces to the rotation on the wheels.
- the support 101 allows the rotation of the system, the expansion of the rows, and the maintenance of the row on the anchoring heads 42.
- An external element 90 generally consisting of a metal plate, or a cable for example, is fixed bending the wheel 4 to retain the wheel on its support.
- FIG. 10A is an assembled view and FIG. 10B is an exploded view of a wheel support 50, of the type illustrated in FIGS. 7 and 8, provided in addition to a motorized rotation module.
- the mechanized module is disposed at the center of the assembly for example (see FIG 2B), or at one end, in order to be able to rotate the assembly completely on the wheel supports 31 to place it in "closed” or so-called “protection” mode (FIG 15A) for example.
- the motorized wheel support 50, illustrated in FIGS. 10 is simple assembly and compact.
- a wheel and motorized ensures the mechanical drive of the row, thanks to a rack and gear system for example.
- the mechanized module allows driving the wheel with a drive belt for example, or a chain, which also acts as a retaining device 9, a motor capable of operating in two directions and at variable speed, Actuating the rotation of the row, and weatherproof, gears and bearings, and consequently allows the drive of the complete assembly to ensure the precise pursuit of the sun. It also makes it possible to pivot the assembly in different positions between 0, corresponding to the mode "closed” or said “protection" of the sensor, up to about 275 °, as shown schematically in FIGS. 14.
- At the supports 50, at least one retaining device 9 is configured to prevent the separation of the support wheel of the support structure on which is positioned the wheel support while driving
- a hoop of solidarity can be used, configured so as not to hinder the rotation of the system.
- FIG. 11 is an illustration of an embodiment, according to an aspect of the present invention, of a unit with two mirror sections 6a, 6b.
- the securing device between the two mirror sections 6a, 6b is a continuous longitudinal piece 110 having a Z-section, positioned between the two mirror sections 6a, 6b.
- the part 110 comprises a first surface 111 connected to a second surface 113 by a body 115 forming the central bar of the Z, the first surface 111 being fixed along the inner longitudinal flange 23a of the first mirror section 6A and the second surface 113 being fixed along the inner longitudinal flange 23b of the second mirror section 6b, forming a unit 1000.
- the unit 1000 thus formed has a Z-section, and comprises two offset mirrors 6a and 6b, or on two offset parabolic arcs. , one of the other by the body 115 of the continuous longitudinal piece 110, hence a bifocal.
- the offset positioning of the two parabola arches allows two zones of focal solar concentration to be obtained, or two distinct focal lines (see FIG 13).
- Such an assembly of the two mirrors by means of the continuous central part 110 in Z allows a unit 1000 rigid bending, while allowing to reduce the thickness of the mirrors 6a and 6b and thus reduce the total cost per square meter of mirror.
- a rigid unit 1000 makes it possible to use mirrors 6a and 6b of large size.
- FIG. 12 is a side view of the assembly device of FIG. 11 for example.
- the side view allows to appreciate the profile of the central part 110 to stiffen the assembly.
- the section of this piece 110 in "Z” makes it possible to greatly stiffen the assembly in the focal axis of the virtual parabola.
- FIG. 13 is an illustration of another embodiment of a unit according to one aspect of the present invention, using connecting pieces 210 as a securing device.
- two connecting pieces 210 are positioned between the two mirror sections 6a, 6b.
- Each connecting piece 210 has a Z-section, with a first surface 211 connected to a second surface 213 by a body 215 forming the central bar Z, the first surface 211 being fixed along the inner longitudinal flange 23a of the first section 6A and the second surface 213 being fixed along the inner longitudinal flange 23b of the second mirror section 6b, forming a unit 200.
- the unit 200 thus formed has a Z-section, and comprises two mirrors 6a and 6b according to two parabolic arcs offset from each other by the body 215 of the connecting pieces 210, hence a bifocal
- the use of discontinuous pieces 210 allows an air or fluid flow between the mirror sections 6a and 6b, i.e. in the free spaces between the connecting pieces 210.
- the mirror section 6a may be used to heat the fluid in the pick-up line by directing the solar radiation onto the zone 1, to thermoconversion, while the rays reflected by the mirror 6b are focused on photovoltaic cells arranged on the zone B for example in order to make a photoelectric conversion.
- FIG. 14 illustrates a securing device between the two mirror sections 6A and 6B, for a symmetrical assembly, that is to say in a single parabola arc, without offset.
- the device for fastening between the two mirror sections 6A and 6B comprises appliques 35 supported at the end of the support arms 13 opposite one end of the support arms 13 supporting clips 37 which support the pick-up line 5, and stiffen all the components that form the parable.
- the sconces 35 attach to the respective internal extrusions 23a and 23b of the mirror sections as shown in FIG. 14.
- the securing devices 110, 210 may serve as a fulcrum for the support arms 13 which support the pick-up line 5 (see FIG 13).
- At least one of the two mirrors comprises two lateral flanges 25, 27 for support on a support wheel and two longitudinal inner rims 23 and outer 21, the inner longitudinal flange 23 being secured by the securing device with the other mirror, its outer longitudinal flange 21 being free (see FIGs 2).

- the simplified design and the combination of the support function with the optical positioning function allows a significant reduction in the number of parts required for assembly, hence saving time and assembly parts of the assembly. 50% compared to systems having a support structure coupled to a reflective element.
- the mirrors according to the present invention can be stored and transported in very small places such as a typical container optimally.
- the closed cell structure of the mirrors as detailed in relation to FIGS. 3 for example, that is to say comprising elements all around the perimeter of the mirror that act together to make the structure very rigid, has a very high torsional strength as well as bending.
- Such a structure allows thicknesses of sheet metal 12 and 14 (see FIGs 3), for example aluminum, reduced, for example by 0.020 "This high resistance in torsion and in flexion allows a great resistance to the environmental forces (rain, hail, snow, high winds etc.), while maintaining the optical form necessary for the principles of concentration of the light beams.
