Le canal d'écoulement peut être formé à l'intérieur du corps principal pour définir un trajet d'écoulement entre une partie d'entrée (26, 114) et une partie de sortie (24, 112) du dispositif. Le canal d'écoulement peut définir une multitude de zones critiques dans laquelle l'eau peut s'accumuler lorsque le dispositif d'application d'eau n'applique pas d'eau. Au moins un premier compensateur (302) peut être mis en place dans une première zone critique et au moins un deuxième compensateur (302, 304, 308) peut être mis en place dans une deuxième zone critique. Les premier et deuxième compensateurs (302, 304, 306, 308) peuvent comprendre un matériau compressible configuré pour permettre aux premier et deuxième compensateurs d'être comprimés à l'intérieur des première et deuxième zones critiques, respectivement, afin d'augmenter le volume effectif de la première zone critique et de la deuxième zone critique.
