Abstract

A puncture proof tire with automatic studs. The tire can move on when it blows out without collapsing on to the tire (without sitting on the rim). By pressing a single button inside the car while driving on snowy and icy roads in winter the studs can be activated or drawn back inside the tire. This system can be applied to the personal cars and automobiles with rubber tires and to vehicles carrying cargo and passengers.

Description

DESCRIPTION
AUTOMATIC STUDDED PUNCTURE PROOF TIRE
The invention is about automatic studded puncture proof tire which can move on when the tire blows out without collapsing on to the tire (without sitting on the rim) by pressing a single button inside the car while driving on snowy and icy roads in winter. The invention is a system which can apply to the personal cars and automobiles with rubber tired vehicles carrying cargo and passenger.
Currently, we have three methods widely used to prevent tire from skidding on ice and snow. These are chain, studded tire and rubber snow chain which is mounted on tire made of studs driven in plastic or rubber strip and which in wrapped over the tire. The oldest of these methods is mounting chain method. Since the chain has wide spaces, it jars the car anddamages the tiresand shock absorber. It is backbreaking to mount it and it often breaks off. When it rambles on the back part of the tire, it poses danger. Moreover, it cannot be applied to any car. For example, chain cannot be mounted to 1.6 Alfa Romeo 156 of 1999 as its swing and radius rods are manufactured being too close to the tire.
Studded tires are very comfortable as they do not jar the car. However, it requires two additional rims or only two rimless studded tires are used more inconveniently. It is extremely hard to carry and mount. Therefore, it cannot be replaced frequently and remains mounted on the car for a long time. When used at occasions where the road is without snow and ice, it wears the asphalt. On a road where there is no ice and snow, its studs are exposed over the tires and cannot provide traction. As a result, the car cannot achieve required speed, manoeuvre and braking, and loses its road control. Furthermore, as the tire wears out and loses millimetres from its body, either the studs leap or they wear the asphalt very much as the studs become too long and prevent tires from touching to the ground.
Rubber snow chain which is mounted on the tire by being wrapped is more useful. It is easier than chain to mount and demount it. However, it also damages the road like studded tires and never provides sufficient solution. For example, neither chain and studded tire nor rubber snow chain can be mounted or demounted when the car is in a bad situation (slipped on an icy slope, bog down). DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In this invention, without a need to go out of the car, it is provided the studs to go out automatically from inside the tires by pressing a button which activates the system. By pressing the same button, the studs are drawn back into the tires. In this way, while driving, the driver can activate the system upon encountering snow and/or ice, and when studs are no more necessary, the tires can automatically return to their normal condition. Besides, even if the system is open, for example if the studs are out when moving on the asphalt, the system will automatically takes in the studs and will not cause any damage to the road.
The entire system operation is maintained by a hydraulic pump (5) placed in the car. When pressing the button inside the car, hydraulic pump (5) starts to operate with the electricity it obtains from the car and the occurred oil pressure forces the rotary (4). Occurred oil pressure gives a run command to the large piston (8) and to the small piston (3) by entering to apparatus tool (1) from hydraulic hose (2). By tighten steel studs (7) to the hole on the stud linking rod within the small piston (3), in every up and down motion of the small piston (3), it drives steel stud (7) inside and outside. By moving to opposite direction, large piston (8) and small piston (3) push the springs (6) downwards and develops resistance by holding to the rim. Although there is no air in it, the tire stays sharp like it is full of air and continues on the road without stopping. The entire system consists of 4 main parts: a. Rubber and rim
b. Apparatus tool
c. Rotary group
d. Hydraulic pump
There is rotary (4) placed in the rim through the reverse side of the rim. The function of the rotary is dispatching the oil that comes with the aid of hydraulic pump (5) from the pipe in the rim (9) between the rim (9) and rubber (10) and pushing the small piston (3) upwards within apparatus tool (1) and thus maintaining the outgoing of steel studs (7) and pushing the large piston (8) downwards and maintaining fixed spring bounded steel shoes (6) to press the rim (9). The exit of steel studs (7) takes place by passing in the castermid piece (11) placed to inner side of the tire. The castermid piece (11) is a material manufactured via casting, polyamide type, hard, has high impact tolerance and high erosion tolerance, light and easy to processable. It has low friction factor and is high temperature resistant considering to other plastic types. Placing the piston kit into the castermid piece (11) and the existence of resistance absorber springs located below large pistons (8) make tire puncture proof.

Claims

CLAIM :
1. The invention is automatic studded puncture proof tire which works in the way that the hydraulic pump (5) linked to the system produces oil pressure which reaches to the hydraulic relief pipe linked to rotary (4), and from there the oil passes to the apparatus tool (1) through hydraulic hose (2) from the hole in the rim (9), oil pushes the small piston (3) kit and steel studs (7) attached to them are placed to inner side of the tire (10), the castermid piece (1 1) has holes at the same location with the rubber that steel studs (7) will pass and provides it to exit from the hole which has rubber, pushing the large piston (8) kit downwards and makes steel shoes (6) to press the steel spring rim (9).
