Abstract
縦磁界効果を利用して大電流を流すことができると共に、過大電流が生じた場合に、限流するための機能をケーブル自体で実現することができる超伝導ケーブルを提供する。縦磁界効果を利用して直流電流を通電する内側導体3と、内側導体3における縦磁界が増加するように内側導体と逆方向に直流電流を通電するシールド層5とを有する超伝導ケーブル1であって、シールド層5の電流容量が内側導体3の電流容量より小さくなっており、シールド層5が、シールド層5に流れる電流がシールド層5の電流容量を超えた場合に、電流が分流するための外側導電層6bを有し、内側導体3が、内側導体3に流れる電流が内側導体3の電流容量を超えた場合に、電流が分流するための内側導電層6aを有し、外側導電層6b及び内側導電層6aに電流が通電される場合に、当該電流により縦磁界が減少するように外側導電層6b及び内側導電層6aが形成されている。
