Abstract

In the method according to the invention for operating an electric motor in a system, for example an automobile, a correction signal for changing the operating noise of the system at at least one specifiable frequency is ascertained from a frequency-dependent response function of the system, said correction signal being used to control the electric motor. The method allows a control of an electric motor, wherein a specifiable target characteristic of the system can be reached while taking into consideration the active paths in the system when sound, for example solid-borne sound through the system and/or air-borne sound, is transmitted. The response function is a frequency response function in particular, which represents the transmission behavior of the system, and the response function is ascertained dependent on operating points in particular. By carrying out said method, disruptive noises can be reduced and/or certain target characteristics of the system can be applied. The correction signal can be ascertained in advance once per operating point (passive method) and/or constantly or temporarily during operation (active method).
