Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for inputting data into a communications device and/or into a readable memory, in which method at least one key function is virtually associated with finger surfaces, and in order to detect and subsequently recognize the respective key function, the thumb position during contact of the respective finger surface with the tip of the thumb is detected and stored. Upon each further contact of a finger surface with the tip of the thumb, a signal corresponding to the key function of the respective finger surface is generated by means of an evaluation electronics unit for the thumb position detected by sensor means, and said signal is transmitted to at least one communications device or to a readable memory.
