Abstract

The invention provides an improved vehicle construction in addition to a method of manufacturing such a construction. This method includes the steps of removing the original floor of an existing vehicle body and connecting a replacement floor to the sides of the vehicle body. This replacement floor extends below the location of the original floor to increase the interior volume of the body, where the replacement floor includes at least one honeycomb panel having an internal cellular core structure encased between two exterior sheets.
