1.ワークの外周面の評価(表1、図4を参照)
 ナイロン樹脂のモノフィラメントをブラシ毛材とした場合、硬度が低いワークAを研磨した場合は、何れの条件でも研磨前より研磨後の表面粗さRaが小さくなっていた(実施例1~11)すなわち、研磨によってワークAの外周面が平滑化されたのが分かる。また、硬度の高いワークBを研磨した場合、研磨前と研磨後の表面粗さRaに変化は殆どなかった(実施例12~13))。すなわち、この研磨条件ではワークBの外周面を研磨する能力が不足していることが分かる。しかし、実施例1~11の結果からも明らかなように、砥粒の粒度および含有量を適宜選択することで、ワークBを良好に研磨できることが容易に推察できる。

2.ワークの端面の評価(表1、図5を参照)
 研磨前のワークの端部はいずれもバリが存在していた。ナイロン樹脂のモノフィラメントをブラシ毛材とした場合、研磨後のワークの端部はいずれもバリがなく、また、研磨によって縁ダレが発生することがなかった。そして、該ワークの端部はいずれも図7における縦軸方向および横軸方向の曲率が均一なR形状を形成していた。
 剛性の高い金属製のワイヤ(硬鋼線材)をブラシ毛材としてワークを研磨した場合、研磨によって二次バリが発生した(比較例1~2)。硬鋼線材のワイヤの剛性が高いため、研磨の際にワークにブラシ毛材が叩きつけられることで、ワークが塑性変形して二次バリが発生したと推測される。また、このワイヤをブラシ毛材としてワークBを研磨した場合、研磨によって縁ダレが発生していた(比較例3~4)。これは、研磨によってワークBがワークAの場合と同様に塑性変形したが、ワークAより硬度が高いために縁ダレとなったと推測される。例えばワークが油圧部品の場合、縁ダレがあると油のリークが発生する等、このように、ワークの縁ダレにより様々な問題が発生するので好ましくない。
 剛性の低い金属製のワイヤ(ステンレス線材)をブラシ毛材としてワークを研磨した場合、いずれも研磨前と研磨後で表面粗さRaに変化は殆どなかった(比較例5~6)。このワイヤは先端以外に研磨能力がないが、剛性が低いので研磨能力が低い。よって、ワークを研磨することができない。

Further, when the workpiece B was polished using this wire as a brush bristle material, edge sagging occurred due to the polishing (Comparative Examples 3 to 4). This is presumed that the workpiece B was plastically deformed by polishing in the same manner as in the case of the workpiece A.      前記ワークの一端を前記ワーク載置部材に載置する工程と、
     前記回転伝達部材を介して前記ワーク回転車の回転を前記ワークに伝導して該ワークを回転させると共に、該ワークを前進させる工程と、
     前記前進しているワークが前記ロールブラシに接触して、該ワークの外周面および端部を研磨する工程と、を備え、
     前記ワーク回転車の回転速度を調整して前記ワークの前進速度を調整する工程をさらに備えることを特徴とする研磨方法。

    The advancing work comes into contact with the roll brush and polishes the outer peripheral surface and the end of the work, and
    The polishing method further comprising the step of adjusting the forward speed of the work by adjusting the rotational speed of the work rotating wheel.
