Abstract

Provided are a plug-and-play network element, system, and access method aimed to solve the problem in the prior art of the process of checking the accuracy of information of a plug-and-play network element during its access being too complex. The method comprises: a plug-and-play network element transmits through a DHCP request message to a network management obtained authentication information required for access; the plug-and-play network element receives through a DHCP response message an IP address transmitted by the network management, the IP address being the IP address assigned by the network management after authentication to the device for access; the device accesses according to the received IP address. The network management assigns an IP address to the plug-and-play network element after the authentication information required for access is authenticated, and the network element accesses using the received IP address. Hence the network management center remotely completes the installation check for the network element, thereby reducing the complexity of checking plug-and-play network element information during its access.
