Abstract

An embodiment of the invention includes a method of camera design, purposely built to house the hardware and software to instantly tag/identify the user's friends, family and locations. The camera utilises installed face-recognition and landscape recognition software to query images, then communicate through telecommunications to transmit images with social networking sites/developers and the internet.

Description

FACIAL RECOGNITION WITH SOCIAL NETWORKING AIDING
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[1001] An embodiment of the disclosed invention defines the designed camera, purposely built to house the hardware and software outlined in the flow diagram above. In addition to the embodiment, the camera will consist of a high resolution aperture (008) to detail the aspects of algorithms, used in the face recognition/geo-cities and landmark tagging process.
Thus at least one embodiment of the invention incorporates telecommunications network modules with the apparatus, e.g. microSIM / Wi-Fi. The microSim/Wi-Fi's module's integration defines communications to remote website servers and/or social networking sites.
In yet another embodiment, the camera will also consist of a high resolution capacitive or resistive touch-screen (001 ). This touch-screen (001 ) will be the centre of the user's functions. For example, in at least one embodiment, the user will have complete control over the camera's functionality, menus and setup. Inclusive in the embodiment, the touch-screen (001 ) will consist of an alpha-numeric keypad for data input.
[1002] According to some embodiments, the camera will consist of user defined input secure login options. For example, included in the embodiment, such options can include voice recognition, capacitance screen finger print, or on-screen data input password options.
The disclosed embodiments relate generally to identify security reasons behind the user login options, and to protect to user's camera against theft or other usages not permitted by the user, according to an embodiment of the invention. Thus to secure any data to and from the device and their communications to servers, internet connectivity and social networking services.
The login features will access quick features. This will allow the user to set the camera up in the quickest time possible, in order to provide a picture ready camera, according to another embodiment of the invention.
[1003] The camera will use technology incorporated into most branded models. Furthermore, in at least one embodiment of the invention, face detection, voice recognition, smile detection technology, etc., can be used to quickly identify people's/location in either single or plural object in the image. Program code embodied on the apparatus, will then is able to isolate objects on the image, and use facial recognition algorithms to single out each person in the photo.
In addition, at least one embodiment of the invention, analyses background objects on the image and queries shapes, colours, shades, etc to known locations cross referenced with GPS co-ordinates (005) and mapping software.
[1004] An embodiment of the invention includes the methods of process and the use of facial recognition software installed on the camera device, to analyse and query names, identifiers, locations and facial features from image created. With the request of download/updates from Social Networking API site's and servers, facial recognition on added and tagged friends are queried and identified. [1005] With onboard CPU (007), RAM (012) and media storage devices (003), queries/tags/identification, facial analysis and algorithms are queried to known tagged people identities, therefore being able to quickly retrieve and analyse known templates, based on these tags.
With the aid of voice recognition, identity/location tags can also be processed via the camera's CPU (007) and queried against face recognition tags.
[1006] For example, in at least one embodiment, the use of known identities/peoples and the use of any updated profile pictures or tagged status, the telecommunications (004) can retrieve such data from the social network's API for analysis and templating.
With large amounts of data collected, the software allows the algorithm query process images from different situations (such as: day/night picture quality, facial angles, facial distance, etc.) and to analyse and develop templates for each person. In creating a database of friend's tagged pictures, a query can be computed with speed and accuracy within the device.
[1007] In addition, at least one embodiment uses the access of GPS (005) and Wi-Fi (006) communications for geo-city locations. With the stamping of co-ordinates and location, mapping software such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc can accurately locate the pictures. With 3D map interaction, landmarks such as Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Pyramids, Mt. Fuji can be queried and analysed. With known templates based on these landmarks, location recognition identifiers can be placed on to the image. With the use of computer programming languages, identified landmarks can be controlled by the devices input (voice recognition (002), touch-screen (001 )) methods to add web-based hyper links at selected points on the image, to add creation and expansion to the image created.
[1008] The program embodied on the storage media device (003) will be used to carry out various methods of computing and storing data. With the use of other programming languages alongside the iOS (e.g. C++, Java, Flash Media, Excel, API programmes), details and descriptions will be added to complete the format of file ready for editing, storing and transmitting.
[1009] The camera also embodies a microphone (002) which adds detailed expansion to the functionality of input methods. An embodiment of the invention includes voice recognition software embedded onto the camera to recognize voice commands. Voice commands can be identified by speech characteristics such as pitch, syllables, notes, etc. These
characteristics can be identified and programmed to can carry out specific menu functions, name/location tagging and also can extend to the name of the created file and format.
[1010] Thus at least one embodiment of the invention uses the microphone (002) to record voice captions which can be added to the image. The audio file can be embedded onto the image file format, or as a separate media file that can be identified and stamped with image coding. [101 1] Another embodiment uses the microphone (002) as the input module to interface with the embedded software. With voice recognition queries and GPS aided queries, together with image, recognition location matches can singularly or plurality cross-referenced and tagged.
[1012] Another embodiment uses various types of storage media (003) for input/output data storage. The medium for storage, may be, but not limited to, computer readable devices e.g. flash cards or HDD. Furthermore, in at least one embodiment of the invention consists of random access memory (RAM) and one or more central process units (CPU).
For example, in at least one embodiment, the storage medium (003) can retrieve, via telecommunications/Wi-Fi, previous uploaded photos from their social networking service and display them on screen with already tagged people/places.
[1013] The foregoing description, for purpose of explanation, has been described with reference to specific embodiments. Therefore, the illustrative descriptions or discussions above are not intended to be exhaustive or limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed. Many modifications and variations are possible in view of the above teachings. The embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and its practical applications, thereby enabling others skilled in the art to best utilize the inventions and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the principal use contemplated.
The corresponding structures, materials, acts, and equivalents of all means plus function elements in the claims below are intended to include any structure, or material, to perform the function in combination with other claimed elements as specifically claimed.
