Abstract

The invention relates to an electrochemical battery having a plurality of individual cells (2), wherein each individual cell (2) comprises a cell housing (3) and each cell housing (3) comprises a cell top (4), a cell base (5) and a cell wall (6). According to the invention at least one circumferential insulating element (1) is non-positively or positively mounted on or is bonded with the cell top (4) and/or the cell base (5) and/or the cell wall (6) of each individual cell (2).
