Abstract

Esta invención está relacionada con el proceso para la modificación de un ligante asfáltico usando como aditivo un nanocomposito de: nanotubos de carbono de paredes múltiples funcionalizados dispersos en una matriz de polímero estireno-butadieno- estireno (SBS / MMWCNT). El asfalto modificado con el nanocomposito SBS/MMWCNT mejora sustancialmente su resistencia mecánica a las deformaciones y a cargas a alta temperatura; de manera que esto aumente la vida del pavimento flexible. Las mezclas asfálticas producidas con este nuevo ligante asfáltico modificado presentan una reducción importante en su ahuellamiento, se clasifican como mezclas asfálticas de alto módulo cuando se producen a partir de asfalto de dureza media (60/70) o superior y no son susceptibles a la humedad.
