Technical Field
The invention is related to an environmentalist barrier system designed by using materials with more than one different mechanical feature like elastic and rigid to minimize the damage in traffic accidents by increasing the safety of life and property.
The invention is especially related to an abacus barrier.
State of the Art
Today, there are some security measures, which are used for road safety on the traffic flowing routes. Barriers constitute an important place among them.
Concrete barriers may cause intensive damage in the vehicle, returning of the vehicle to the road where it came from, and loss of life despite providing excellent isolation. It prevents the vehicle to get out of the area separated by the barrier no matter what the conditions are. As the third principle of Newton's action-reaction runs in maximum level during the impact, loads applied to the concrete barrier by the vehicle are loaded equally to the vehicle and causes an intensive deformation, life and property losses and returning of the vehicle to the road. In the sandwich barrier (present invention), while the impact is being absorbed, the holder material on the external surface sticks the vehicle to itself by sucker effect.
Despite steel and cable barriers provide high elasticity, they can't prevent the vehicle from getting out of the separated area by performing badly in isolation. Also, the collisions parallel to the starting point of the barrier may cause serious life and property losses. In steel and cable barriers, elasticity modules of the materials are high and they considerably absorb the impact; therefore, they minimize the damage in the vehicle, but the vehicle gets out of the area that is separated by barrier and leads to a dangerous situation, as they have a bad isolation feature. Moreover, fatal accidents are recorded as the vehicle gets in the barrier from the starting place of the barrier.
The present abacus barrier is designed to absorb the loads in the vehicle and not to get out of the area separated by the barrier (isolation). While outer rims are absorbing the impacts, the . rigid and strength material in the inner core prevents the vehicle entering the unwanted area minimizing the damage by stopping the remaining loads.

The invention numbered EP1254286B1 and titled "Road safety barrier" is a road safety barrier; it comprises at least one cord fixation fixed to the supporting columns by means of an energy distributing structure near the top, and at least one lower fence attached to said supporting columns in a specific height; said lower fence is attached to said supporting columns by means of an energy distributing support.
Again, the invention numbered EP1619311B1 and titled "New Jersey highway safety barrier with continuous struts" describes the New Jersey safety barrier element; said element includes a base of support fixed to the ground by anchoring means and essentially vertical poles with reinforcing ribs and surrounding housing attached and fixed to said base of support; an extension element supporting a handrail located parallel to the ground is mounted to the upper ends of the said poles. On the said element, each of the said poles and the related extension element forms a continuous strut.
The invention numbered EP2017387B1 and titled "Protective barrier assembly" is related to many stands fixed ground-sided and a collision barrier fixed to the stands and said stands are connected to each other by means of said collision barrier, for vehicle roads, especially at the edge of the vehicle road, for applying on the central reserve or for making safe the dangerous places. The characteristic of the protective barrier assembly according to the invention is that the collision barrier has a support device for supporting the said protective barrier assembly at the side far away from a danger zone.
Again, the invention numbered TR 2003/01677 and titled "A road barrier mountable from bottom consisting of two parts" is related to the barriers used to determine the congestion prohibited zones or to prevent parking of vehicles on the edges of roads and highways, and it is characterized in that the barrier consists of two parts for easy attachment and detachment and borders of road edges can be determined as the barrier can be internally mounted and as a reflector is attached to the said barrier. The system consists of upper body, lower body, sub- base, reflector, mounting nut and mounting.
Object of the invention
In order to eliminate the disadvantages in the state of art, an object of the invention is to "suck" the vehicle to the barrier for not returning the vehicle to the road and to minimize the losses of life and property by transferring the load to rigid impact receivers made of impact absorbing elastic material.
Another object of the invention is to prevent getting out of the area separated with the barrier (isolation) by absorbing the loads on the vehicle.

Detailed description of the invention
The novelty according to the invention is disclosed for a better understanding of the invention without any limiting effects.
In figure 1 , there is a perspective view of the abacus barrier (10) according to the invention. In line with this, the abacus barrier (10) consists of a main body (12), foot sections (14) coupled to the said main body (12) and flexible wings (11) embodied to surround the main body (12) from both sides and repeatedly ranked along the main body (12).
In figure 2, a detailed view of the flexible wings (11) is shown. According to this, the flexible wings (11) put forth a layered embodiment with different mechanical features and embodied in different levels. A flexible wing (11) consists of an elastic outer layer (111) and an elastic layer (112), a load spreader layer (1 13) with pores in spheral form, an impact absorbent layer (114) with a surface in honeycomb form respectively embodied under said outer layer (111). There are three lock slots (115a, 115b, 115c) embodied to coincide with the end and middle parts on the outer wall of said absorbent layer (114). In figure 3, a detailed view of the main body (12) is shown. According to this, the main body (12) essentially includes a main cage (121) and an additional cage (127) mounted to the lower part of said main cage (121). There is an accessory rail (122) embodied along the upper part of the main cage (121), a seat (124) embodied along the lower part of the main cage (121) and a mounting rail (123). Inside of the main cage (121), there is a cage embodiment consisting of extensions directed in different directions. There is a mounting bracket (13) embodied by exposing its seat (124) and positioned on the mounting rails (123). There is a lock part (126) embodied so as to form a protrusion outwards along both lower sides of the main cage (121). In addition, there are lock parts (125) extending by introducing an embodiment outwardly sloping at the top of the main cage (121) and there are lock parts (128) extending by introducing an embodiment extending outwardly along the lower edges of the additional cage (127). Each of the said lock parts (125, 126, 128) is embodied in accordance with lock slots (115a, 115b, 15c) embodied on flexible wings, and provides engaging of the main body (12) and the outer wings (11) to each other.
In figure 4, a detailed view of the foot section (14) is shown. According to this, the foot section (14) comprises a mounting foot (142) fixed to the ground and a vertical foot (141) coupled to the said mounting foot (142) in a form extending in vertical direction.
Mounting of the parts composing the abacus barrier (10) with each other is achieved as follows; the vertical foot (141) is seated and fixed on the mounting foot (142) to form the foot section (14). The main cage (121) and the additional cage (127) are connected to each other to form the main body (12). Then, the mounting bracket (13) is positioned on the mounting rail (123). The connection of the foot parts (14) with the main body (12) is provided by mounting the vertical foot (141) on the seat (124) at regular intervals by passing from the cage gap spacing by means of the mounting bracket (13). Finally each flexible wing (11) is connected to the main body (12) along the main body (12) in such a manner that each lock slot (115a, 115b, 115c) is plugged-in the lock parts (125, 126, 128) meeting. The mounting bracket (13) provides keeping together the barrier parts and provides forming of a lateral resistance between main body (12) and flexible wings (11).
Basic function of the flexible wings (11) is to provide minimum damage to the vehicle and the barrier during an impact. The flexible wings (11) absorb the horizontal and vertical direction force vector pair formed during the impact at a maximum rate by its layered structure and elastic feature. Absorbing of the impact is achieved by the layers gradually. The outer layer (11 ) is the first layer which the vehicle contacts with during the collision. As the outer layer (11 1) has an elastic surface embodiment, it reduces the ravage of the vertical impact vector by laterally moving during the impact. Also, it prevents drifting of the car back. The elastic layer (112) largely absorbs the impact effect coming from the outer wings and transfers the residual impact loads to the load spreader layer (113). The load spreader layer (113), thanks to its global structure, transfers the loads to the absorbent layer (114) by distributing the loads to different directions. Elasticity of the absorbent layer (114) is less than the other layers. It absorbs the residual loads on the honeycomb shaped surfaces by absorbing the impact and the vibrations with high resistance.
The main body (12) constitutes the base of the whole system. The cage structure provided inside the main cage (121) is functioning as an impact distributor to prevent gathering of the residual loads coming from the outer layers (111) and to minimize its effects. The main cage (121) basically puts forth a rail embodiment. Therefore, mounting of all parts can be performed easily from the desired point. The accessory rail (122) provided on the upper part of the main cage (121) is embodied to provide positioning of the traffic signs. As this part puts forth a rail embodiment, the traffic sign can be easily detached and attached and its position can be easily changed. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the accessory part is made of thermoplastic material preventing the oxidation. The mounting bracket (13) positioned on the mounting rail (123) provides laterally connection of the barrier parts each other.
The foot section (14) basically provides fixing the abacus barrier (10) to the ground. The mounting foot (142) provides transferring the incoming loads to the ground and the barrier to be resistant against the reaction taken from the ground, and the vertical feet (141) provides integration of the mounting feet (142) with the whole structure and provides to minimize the moment effects formed as a result of impact on the mounting feet ( 42). As the seat (124) extends along the lower part of the main cage, (121) the distance between the foot parts (14) can be adjusted as requested.
The additional cage (127) is used to protect these parts against the impacts by reinforcing the empty parts between foot parts (14). Thanks to its caged structure, it provides distribution of the loads and thus reduces the pressure on the foot parts (14).
The abacus barrier (10), different from the barriers in the current technic, prevents swinging of the vehicle and provides minimum damaging of the vehicle by distributing by absorbing the impact.
The abacus barrier (10) is an environmentalist barrier embodiment inspired by nature.
