- D2D communication is performed by reusing resources of an existing wireless communication network (eg, 3GPP LTE or 3GPP LTE-A), it should not cause interference or disturbance to the existing wireless communication network. That is, even though the actual data transmission / reception between the devices does not go through the base station, the resources for D2D communication need to be set separately from the resources for existing wireless communication (ie, indirect communication through the base station).
- an existing wireless communication network eg, 3GPP LTE or 3GPP LTE-A
- the operation of performing D2D direct communication and the operation of performing indirect communication through an eNB may influence each other.
- a UE uses downlink carriers (or downlink frequency bands) and uplink carriers (or uplink frequency bands) that are distinguished from each other.
- a UE having a half-duplex function receives a reception function. It has the function of sending and receiving but it cannot receive and transmit at the same time. Such a UE cannot transmit to a D2D counterpart on the same carrier while performing a reception operation. Similarly, a UE cannot perform reception from a D2D counterpart on the same carrier while performing a transmission operation.
- TDM may be applied between D2D link communication and Uu / Un link communication. That is, during the time resources (eg, subframes) for D2D link communication, communication between the eNB and the UE (eg, PDSCH transmission or reception or PUSCH transmission / reception) may not be scheduled.
- a time resource for D2D link communication may be set in advance, and D2D link communication may be performed only on a D2D dedicated resource.
- a time resource that cannot be used for D2D link communication may be set in advance, and D2D link communication may be performed in other time resources.
- resources and / or prohibited to allow D2D link communication in the frequency domain and / or spatial domain are allowed.
- Resources may be set.
- a specific resource block may be set as a frequency resource on which D2D link communication is performed.
- D2D link communication may be performed only in a specific time domain in a specific frequency resource.
- a D2D dedicated RB may be set at an interval of 8 ms and scheduled to perform D2D communication only in this region and this time period.
- the UE may determine, from other information, information about the resource for which the D2D link communication is prohibited. For example, the UE may determine that a time / frequency / spatial resource through which system information, a synchronization signal, a control channel, a reference signal, etc. are transmitted in a downlink subframe is a resource region where D2D link communication is prohibited. Or, the information on the resources allowed and / or prohibited resources D2D link communication may be explicitly indicated to the UE via signaling from the network.
- a period, resource, retransmission method, etc. for the D2D link communication may be signaled to the UE requesting the D2D link communication. Accordingly, the UE may perform D2D link communication on a predetermined resource (time / frequency / space) resource.
- a configuration signaling scheme for D2D link communication can be defined. For example, a period and an offset of a subframe that can be used for D2D link communication may be designated to the UE through higher layer signaling, and activation / deactivation of the D2D link communication may be instructed to the UE dynamically through a control channel.
- the dynamically indicated control information may include information about RB, MCS, etc. allocated for D2D link communication. Accordingly, the D2D resource configuration may be set semi-statically similar to the resource configuration for the SPS service.
- the carrier (or frequency band) used for the D2D link communication may be determined as either an uplink carrier or a downlink carrier, or both may be used for the D2D link communication.
- a carrier for D2D link communication may be configured separately from a carrier for Uu / Un link communication.
- each transmission may be performed on the resources allowed according to the above-described D2D resource configuration.
- PUCCH (hereinafter referred to as macro PUCCH) on the Uu / Un link from the UE to the eNB and the D2D link from the UE to another UE
- D2D PUCCH The case of transmitting the PUCCH (hereinafter, referred to as D2D PUCCH) on the same subframe may occur.
- the D2D PUCCH transmission may receive strong interference when simultaneous transmission thereof is allowed.
- the eNB may set the macro PUCCH transmission power to the UE, but the D2D PUCCH transmission power may be autonomously determined by the UE in consideration of a path loss on the D2D link. Accordingly, a UE performing D2D link communication proposes a method of feeding back D2D PUCCH transmit power configuration information to an eNB. Accordingly, the eNB may set the macro PUCCH transmission power in consideration of the D2D PUCCH transmission power (for example, to reduce interference on the D2D PUCCH).
- the D2D PUCCH transmission power configuration information fed back by the D2D UE may be used for an operation of not simultaneously transmitting different types of PUCCHs in the same subframe. Even if the UE has the capability of simultaneously transmitting the macro PUCCH and the D2D PUCCH, as described above, when the interference with respect to the D2D PUCCH is strong, D2D link communication may not be performed correctly.
- the eNB may comprehensively consider the macro PUCCH transmission power setting information and the D2D PUCCH transmission power setting information, and may assign a priority of transmission to each of the macro PUCCH and the D2D PUCCH and inform the UE of this.
- the D2D UE may determine which of the D2D PUCCH and the macro PUCCH is to be preferentially transmitted based on its D2D PUCCH transmission power information and the macro PUCCH transmission power information instructed by the eNB. Accordingly, the UE may operate to transmit a PUCCH set to a high priority when a simultaneous transmission situation of different types of PUCCHs occurs, and interference between the D2D link and the Uu / Un link may be reduced.
- the above-described example of the present invention is not limited only to macro PUCCH transmission and / or D2D PUCCH transmission, and the same principle proposed in the present invention may be applied to uplink transmission power control of a UE performing D2D.
- FIG. 7 is a diagram exemplarily illustrating direct communication between two devices D1 and D2 connected to the same eNB.
- D1 and D2 may be in a state in which a connection between each device and an eNB is maintained, but may not be maintained. In the example of FIG. 7, it is assumed that each device is within coverage of the eNB even though the connection between the eNB and D1 or D2 is not maintained.
- D2D related settings for example, D2D resource setting, setting of the relationship between Uu / Un link transmission and D2D link transmission, etc.
- D2D communication can be basically performed by the above-described signaling method.
- D2D communication related information for correctly performing D2D communication may be transmitted and received between the D2D devices D1 and D2 and the eNB.
- the D2D communication related information may be charging related information.
- the eNB is not involved in the D2D link communication itself, since the D2D communication is performed using resources for an existing wireless network, an operator providing a wireless network may charge for the D2D link communication.
- the D2D communication information includes a time point when the D2D communication is activated (or started), a time point when the D2D communication is released (or terminated), a D2D communication maintenance period, the size of the frequency resource used for the D2D communication, and the amount of data transmitted and received. It may be provided to the eNB from the device. For this purpose, physical layer signaling and / or higher layer signaling may be defined and used.
- FIG. 8 is a diagram exemplarily illustrating direct communication between two devices D1 and D2 connected to different eNBs.
- D1 when D2D communication is activated, D1 may be connected to eNB1 and D2 may be connected to eNB2, but this connection may not be maintained.
- D2D communication when D2D communication is activated, D1 may be connected to eNB1 and D2 may be connected to eNB2, but this connection may not be maintained.
- the D2D related settings for example, D2D resource setting, setting of the relationship between Uu / Un link transmission and D2D link transmission, etc.
- the D2D communication related information needs to be exchanged in addition to the aforementioned signaling scheme.
- the present invention proposes a method of exchanging and determining D2D related information of eNB1 (or D1) and D2D related information of eNB2 (or D2).
- eNB1 may inform eNB2 (and ultimately D2) D2D communication related information set for D1.
- a predetermined signaling scheme may be applied. For example, by modifying a PDCCH order instructing the UE to start a random access procedure, when the fields in the DCI format are set to a predetermined value, the corresponding control information is transmitted from eNB1 to eNB2 (or D2). It may be recognized that signaling for providing D2D related information.
- a signaling scheme for exchanging D2D communication related information required by each eNB may be applied.
- FIG. 9 is a diagram for describing a method of transmitting / receiving D2D communication related information according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. All or part of the steps shown in FIG. 9 may constitute a separate embodiment of the present invention. That is, the essential configuration of the present invention is not limited to include all of the overall steps shown in FIG. 9, and only a part thereof can be interpreted as an essential configuration for achieving the object of the present invention.
- examples of the present invention will be described according to the overall flow for clarity of explanation.
- eNB1 may provide resource configuration information for D2D link communication (ie, direct communication between D1 and D2) to D1.
- the D2D resource configuration information for D1 may be previously specified and broadcast when D1 attaches to a cell of eNB1.
- the D1 transmits a message eg, a scheduling request (SR)
- the D2D resource configuration information may be provided from the eNB1 to the D1 as a response thereto.
- the D2D resource configuration information may be defined as a cell-specific parameter, a UE group-specific parameter, or a UE-specific parameter.
- the eNB1 may transmit a message (eg, a D2D request message) requesting the D2D communication to the eNB2.
- a message eg, a D2D request message
- the message from eNB1 to eNB2 may be to inquire whether D2D communication between D1 and D2 is possible, and may include information necessary for this.
- the eNB2 may send a check signal (eg, a D2D availability checking signal) to the D2 to determine whether the D2 may participate in the D2D communication.
- a check signal eg, a D2D availability checking signal
- the D2 may feed back information required by the test signal to the eNB2.
- the eNB2 may respond to the eNB1 whether to allow the D2D in consideration of the cell operation situation and the D2 situation. Specifically, eNB2 may transmit information received from D2 and a cell-specific D2D resource region (time interval, period, frequency resource, etc.) to eNB1. When the D2D available resources determined by the eNB2 and the like coincide with the D2D communication related information requested by the eNB1 in step S1220, it may simply transmit a confirmation signal. If the information requested by the eNB1 and the information available in the eNB2 do not match, a partial or conditional confirmation signal may be transmitted to correct some items. Accordingly, handshaking for setting D2D communication related information between eNB1 and eNB2 may be performed.
- a cell-specific D2D resource region time interval, period, frequency resource, etc.
- D2D communication when the resource for D2D communication is set to a specific area fixed for each cell, if the resource for D2D communication is different in the cell of eNB1 and the cell of eNB2, D2D communication may not be performed.
- the operation and information exchange for coordinating the resource area for D2D communication can be performed in either or both. For example, information on whether D2D communication is available, whether reserved resources are available, and the like may be exchanged between eNBs, and the eNB may deliver the information to the UE.
- the eNB1 and the eNB2 may signal the D2D enabling information to the D1 and the D2, respectively (not shown).
- the D2D enabling information may be transmitted to the UE that does not participate in the D2D.
- D1 and D2 may perform direct communication in a designated manner in a resource region designated for D2D communication.
- D1 and / or D2 may report charging related information (time period, resource region, amount of data, etc. in which D2D communication was performed) to eNB1 and / or eNB2 (not shown).
- eNB1 and D2 may operate to receive it. This may be possible when D1 and D2 are synchronized. If it is not synchronized, it may be difficult for the D2 to receive the SR transmitted by the D1. Therefore, resources for the D2D-related SR may be allocated in advance so that the D2D-related SRs may be mutually received.
- the eNB1 may transmit a confirmation signal indicating whether the D2D communication is possible to the D1 and the D2.
- the confirmation signal may correspond to D2D communication activation signaling of a method of instructing to use a specific area among resource areas preset for D2D communication.
- the confirmation signal from eNB1 may be operative to receive D1 and D2 simultaneously. Or, if there is no direct link between eNB1 and D2, a confirmation signal from eNB1 may be transmitted to D2 through D1.
- the eNB1 may determine whether to allow the D2D communication without exchanging information with the eNB2 and respond to the D1.
- signaling for exchanging information on resource regions for D2D communication between eNBs may be defined and used, and signaling for transmitting information on resource regions for D2D communication from at least one eNB to another eNB is defined. And can be used.
- FIG. 10 is a view for explaining a handover process that can be applied to the present invention.
- a UE hands over from a source eNB to a target eNB.
- Handover may be performed when the link quality is degraded as the UE moves from the eNB currently being served (ie, the source eNB).
- the UE may perform measurements on the source eNB and report the results.
- the source eNB may transmit a HO (HandOver) request message to the target eNB, may receive a HO request confirmation message for this, and thus may transmit a HO command message to the UE.
- HO HeandOver
- uplink data from the UE to the network may be transmitted until the HO command is received.
- downlink data from the network to the UE may also be transmitted until the UE receives the HO command. That is, in the uplink and the downlink, the user plane may be active until the UE receives the HO command.
- the UE After the UE receives the HO command from the source eNB, the UE performs downlink (DL) synchronization for the target eNB, performs timing adjustment according to a timing advance command for timing uplink transmission, and performs uplink (UL). Request a resource and be allocated a UL grant in response thereto.
- the uplink user plane may be interrupted due to wireless L1 / L2 signaling, and data forwarding may be performed from the source eNB to the target eNB as a background process.
- the UE may send a HO complete message to the target eNB.
- the uplink user plane may be interrupted due to uplink RRC signaling.
- a user plane update may be performed for the mobility management entity (MME) / user plane entity (UPE).
- MME mobility management entity
- UPE user plane entity
- the target eNB may send an acknowledgment (ACK) message to the UE and may perform path switching for the MME / UPE.
- the uplink user plane may be interrupted due to downlink RRC signaling.
- the downlink user plane is interrupted until the path switching is completed, and only data forwarded from the source eNB may be transmitted from the target eNB to the UE during the path switching. Data forwarding from the source eNB to the target eNB may continue even after the path switch is completed.
- the uplink user plane may be reactivated when the UE receives the ACK, and the downlink user plane may be reactivated after the path switching is completed.
- the handover may be classified into a backward handover and a forward handover.
- the backward handover refers to a method in which the source eNB requests the target eNB to prepare for a handover, and refers to a method in which the target eNB generates an RRC message for performing HO and delivers it to the source eNB and the UE.
- Forward handover refers to a manner in which the UE determines to connect to the target cell itself, and the UE requests to maintain the connection. In the case of forward handover, the connection re-establishment procedure is applied only when the UE loses connection to the source cell, and this procedure can succeed only if the target cell is prepared for handover in advance. Meanwhile, in the LTE system, a redirection operation is supported, which means that when a UE is disconnected, the UE is moved to another frequency or a radio access technology (RAT).
- RAT radio access technology
- a situation of handover may occur in D2D communication.
- a device related to D2D communication may have mobility, a situation of handover may occur in D2D communication.
- some or all of a plurality of devices related to D2D communication is to perform a handover, examples of the present invention for correctly and efficiently performing both the maintenance of the D2D communication and performing the handover procedure will be described. do.
- FIG. 11 illustrates an example in which all devices performing D2D communication perform handover.
- each of D1 and D2 may perform a HO procedure. If the D2D communication related information is not different for each cell, the HO may be performed while maintaining the D2D communication without additional signaling.
- the cell-specific D2D related parameters may include resource setting for D2D communication, transmission power setting, whether to allow D2D communication, whether to report charging related information for D2D communication, and the like.
- the corresponding information when the parameter for D2D resource configuration is semi-statically set, the corresponding information must be shared between the cells related to the HO and also shared to the D1 and the D2 performing the HO, but the HO is performed without disconnection of the D2D communication. Can be. If the cells to which D1 and D2 move are the cells of the repeater, the resource region (that is, the search space) to monitor the repeater control channel (that is, the R-PDCCH) may be set differently for each cell. Information on the R-PDCCH search space may also be shared between the cells involved in performing the handover and the D2D devices so as to successfully decode the H-PDCCH.
- FIG. 12 is a diagram illustrating an example in which a part of apparatuses for performing D2D communication performs handover.
- D2D communication between D1 and D2 is being performed in a cell of eNB1
- some of devices belonging to a D2D communication group that is, D2D communication pair of D1 and D2
- D2D communication pair of D1 and D2 for example, D2
- D2 is transferred to a cell of eNB2.
- An example of moving is shown.
- D2 must perform a HO process, and cell-specific information among D2D communication related information must be delivered to D2.
- the D2 informs the D2 of information (eg, a cell identifier) that specifies the cell, so that any resource in the cell of the eNB2 is used for the D2D.
- information eg, a cell identifier
- the resource region configured for D2D communication in the cell of eNB1 and the resource region configured for D2D communication in the cell of eNB2 may not be the same resource region.
- D1 and D2 perform D2D transmission and reception on different resource regions, when D1 and D2 are located in the same cell, D2D transmission and reception may be performed on the same resource region.
- the D2D communication after the handover corresponds to the case where the devices related to the D2D communication belong to cells of different eNBs as described with reference to FIGS. 8 and 9, the D2D related information as described with reference to FIG. 9 during the handover. Exchange is required. For example, if eNB1 and eNB2 support D2D in different ways, information for changing / coordinating them may be exchanged between eNBs, and signaling may be defined and used to be simultaneously delivered to D2 and D1.
- FIG. 13 is a diagram illustrating an example of a case where all devices performing D2D communication move together to another cell.
- D2 does not have a direct link with the eNB, and illustrates a case where D1 functions as a relay between the eNB and D2. That is, D1 may perform D2D direct communication with D2, and may operate as a relay for communication between D2 and eNB.
- D1 may be referred to as a master, anchor, or primary device, and D2 may be referred to as a slave or secondary device.
- D1 is represented by M (Master)
- D2 is represented by S (Slave).
- FIG. 13 exemplarily illustrates a case in which all devices belonging to a D2D communication group (that is, a D2D communication pair of D1 and D2) move to a cell of an eNB2 while D2D communication between a master and a slave device is performed.
- handover should be performed for a UE that has moved to another cell.
- D2 may perform communication with eNB2 via D1 without performing direct communication with eNB2. Therefore, if D1 successfully performs the handover even though D2 does not perform the handover, both D2D communication and communication between D2 and eNB2 via D1 may be performed without a problem.
- D2 wishes to perform idle mode handover (eg, cell selection)
- information on eNB2 should be provided to D2.
- D2 wants to attach to eNB2 as a general UE after completing direct communication with D1
- a cell search process including a previously defined attach process and a cell reselection operation is performed. Should be.
- the D2 knows information about the eNB2 in advance, the cell search process of the D2 may be efficiently performed and the operation may be simplified.
- the master device eg, D1
- the slave device eg, D2
- the master device transmits information on the cell, that is, HO related information, to the slave device. Accordingly, when the slave device performing the D2D communication switches from the D2D direct communication mode to the general indirect communication mode, the delay required for the cell selection or cell search process can be reduced and efficient operation can be performed.
- the handover related information refers to information necessary for the UE to operate in the target cell, for example, information for specifying the target cell (for example, cell ID), and a radio bearer provided by the target cell.
- Information eg, quality of service (QoS) information, etc.
- resource configuration information provided by the target cell
- a new temporary identifier eg, target C-RNTI
- the handover-related information of the target cell may include cell-specific D2D-related information (eg, resource setting, transmission power setting, D2D communication whether to allow D2D communication in the target cell). , Reporting whether charging related information for D2D communication, etc.).
- the handover related information may be exchanged and shared between cells (source cell and target cell) involved in the handover.
- the source cell may obtain handover related information of the target cell during the handover process.
- the source cell and the target cell may acquire the handover related information of each other in a manner similar to the signaling for requesting and providing the D2D communication related information in the above-described steps S1220 and S1240 of FIG. 9.
- the source cell may directly transfer handover related information of the target cell to the master and slave devices performing D2D communication or may transfer the handover related information of the target cell to the slave device through the master device.
- D1 and D2 perform handover together to a cell served by eNB2
- D1 may preferentially perform handover and deliver handover information obtained in this process to D2.
- D2 may later perform a simplified handover.
- 14 and 15 are conceptual views illustrating delivery of handover related information according to an embodiment of the present invention in the example of FIG. 13.
- D1 must deliver information about D2 to perform handover together to the network. Therefore, the D1 may transmit information about the D2 to the eNB1 before performing the handover, or may transmit the information about the D2 to the eNB1 after performing the handover process or the handover (FIG. 14).
- Information on the D2 may include the following.
- PCI physical cell ID
- the D1 knows the information on the D2 required for the handover process, the information can be transmitted directly to the eNB1. If not, D1 obtains the corresponding information from D2 and transmits the information to eNB1. At this time, the flow of information becomes 'D2-> D1-> network eNB1'.
- information about D2 is transmitted to eNB1 before D1 performs the handover, the information may be included in the measurement report message and transmitted. If the information about D2 is transmitted to eNB1 after the D1 performs the handover process or the handover process, the corresponding information may be transmitted during the DL synchronization, timing adjustment, or UL resource request process.
- eNB1 can deliver information necessary for handover to D2 to D2 through D1 while D1 is assisted. (FIG. 15A). This information may also be delivered before the D1 performs the handover, after the handover process or after the handover, and may include the following contents.
- RACH Dedicated random access channel
- the information may be included in a handover command message (eg, RRCConnectionReconfiguration ) and transmitted.
- a handover command message eg, RRCConnectionReconfiguration
- D1 adds the information acquired by itself to the information received from the network, and transmits information necessary for handover of D2 to D2 (FIG. 15B).
- Information may be updated or added or subtracted as needed, and may include the following.
- a handover command (eg, RRCConnectionReconfiguration ) instructing D2 to handover
- PCI physical cell ID
- RACH Dedicated random access channel
- SIB eg, MIB
- eNB2 the handover target cell
- D2 may omit many steps in performing the handover. For example, the process of acquiring the ID, the ID of the target cell, and the system information to be used in the handover target cell by D1 may be omitted. Accordingly, the D2 may perform a reception operation (eg, PDCCH monitoring) on the DL channel of the target cell without separately communicating with the eNB2, and may transmit a resource allocation message including a DCI scheduling the UL / DL signal transmission from the eNB2. Can be received.
- a reception operation eg, PDCCH monitoring
- FIG. 16 is a conceptual diagram illustrating direct initial access according to an embodiment of the present invention in the example of FIG. 13.
- D2 performs a direct attachment (eg, PDCCH monitoring) in a handover process based on system information obtained from D1, an ID used by the D2 in a handover target cell, and the like.
- D2 may obtain the timing advance value used by D1 from D1 and use it as its timing advance value, or may correct it.
- D1 delivers Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) of eNB2
- D2 compares RSRP of eNB2 measured by eNB2 with RSRP of eNB2 measured by D1, and based on the timing advance value that D1 uses. Can be corrected. Assuming that the shadowing environment of the two UEs is the same, if the RSRP measured by D2 is greater than the RSRP measured by D1, D2 may be closer to the eNB than D1. Therefore, the timing advance value used by D1 can be reduced slightly.
- RSRP Reference Signal Received Power
- 17 is a conceptual diagram illustrating a method for indicating a master device for D2D communication according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the network may indicate that the UE receiving the handover command becomes the master device while transmitting a handover command to a specific UE.
- the handover command message may include a field (or flag) indicating to be a master device.
- it may be instructed to report a list of UEs (ie, counterparts of D2D communication) that are moving together with the corresponding UE.
- the eNB identifies and predicts whether handover of the corresponding UE is required when a change in the strength / quality of a signal of a specific UE occurs (in an event such as movement), and the D2D communication
- An appropriate UE among the UEs belonging to the group may be determined as the master device.
- an eNB may be a specific condition (e.g., geographically intermediate) among UEs having a small mobility of a UE, a UE having a large amount of transmission / reception data with a network, and UEs belonging to a D2D communication group.
- a UE suitable for a master device such as a UE that satisfies a high performance
- a master device may be determined as a master device.
- a UE having a large number of slave devices may bear a lot of signaling overhead for D2D communication with the slave device and to help handover of the slave device.
- the eNB may determine a UE having a small number of slave devices as the master device if it becomes a master device.
- the master device is a UE having a large number of slave devices having high performance and can overcome the aforementioned overhead, the UE may be determined as the master device.
- the D2D communication group may include two or more UEs, and one UE may become a master device to perform handover as a representative and transmit information necessary for handover to another UE.
- handover may be performed by selecting only a UE requiring handover from a UE group performing D2D communication. In this case, if more than one UE needs handover, as described above, the master device may be determined to perform handover.
- 19 is a diagram illustrating an example of a case in which some of devices for performing D2D communication move to another cell.
- D1 and D2 perform D2D communication
- D1 is a master device serving as a relay for D2
- D2 is a slave device.
- D2D communication between D1 and D2 is being performed in a cell of eNB1
- some of devices belonging to a D2D communication group that is, D2D communication pair of D1 and D2
- D2D communication pair of D1 and D2 eg, D2
- D2 needs to perform a handover to a target cell (cell of eNB2), but since the slave device D2 is receiving service from eNB1 via D1, a handover is not necessary immediately after moving to a target cell. It is a state.
- a procedure such as a cell search including an attach process and a cell reselection operation should be performed for the eNB2.
- the D2 knows information of the eNB2 (eg, handover related information) in advance, a delay such as cell search may be reduced and the efficiency of operation may be increased.
- the present invention proposes a method in which D1 acquires handover related information for eNB2 and delivers the information to D2 in advance. Since D1 is currently located in a cell of eNB1, it is not necessary to perform handover to eNB2. However, when D1 determines the state of D2 moved to eNB2, D1 may perform an operation of acquiring handover related information of eNB2. For example, D1 does not actually perform a handover to eNB2, but may request handover to eNB2 to obtain handover related information for eNB2. Although D1 obtains handover related information of eNB2, it may not actually handover to eNB2. This handover process may be referred to as a virtual handover process.
- D1 may transfer the handover related information of eNB2 obtained by performing virtual handover for eNB2 according to the state (or location) of D2 to D2. Accordingly, time and unnecessary procedures required when the D2 attaches to the eNB2 may be reduced.
- D2 may perform a cell reselection procedure by measuring received signal strength (eg, RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power)) from each eNB.
- RSRP Reference Signal Received Power
- measurement information such as RSRP measured by the D2 may be delivered to the eNB1 via the D1. That is, the downlink measurement performed by D2 is for the direct link from each eNB, but the information measured by the D2 may be fed back to the eNB1 through the relay function of the D1.
- the D1 may grasp that the UE moves to the cell of the eNB2 from the measurement information of the D2.
- the D1 may acquire the handover related information for the eNB2 and transfer the information to the D2.
- D2 may obtain information about the eNB2 as a slave device. That is, while D2 acting as a master device and D2 acting as a slave device perform D2D communication in a cell of eNB1, if D2 moves to a cell of eNB2, D2 may be swapped as a master device and D1 as a slave device. Accordingly, D2 may actually perform a handover to eNB2 as a master device, and D1 may be serviced by eNB2 via D2 as a slave device.
- the D2 can directly obtain the handover related information of the eNB2, and since the D1 has the information of the eNB1 where it is located, the D1, which is the slave device, attaches to the cell of the eNB1 after the D2D communication is completed.
- the operation can be simplified. Or, if the D2D device is constrained to operate in the same cell (that is, the cell of eNB2) after the D1 is swapped as a slave device, the D1 receives handover related information for the eNB2 from the master device D2, and the eNB2 without delay. Handover operation may be performed. In other words, in the D2D communication, only the master device (or primary device) performs HO, and the slave device (or secondary device) uses the handover related information received from the master device. It can be said to perform.
- the HO occurring during the D2D communication may be limited to always be performed in the forward HO method. That is, it is important not to miss an incoming call to UEs performing D2D, which can be supported through paging, so that a UE initiated by a base station request for a UE performing D2D communication It may be desirable to set so that only the forward HO initiated by the UE is performed instead of the HO.
