Abstract

The invention relates to an optical motor vehicle monitoring system, comprising a unit with optics and electronics, which unit detects the passage of a motor vehicle through a specific area and in so doing records the time, possibly the motor vehicle registration, and the driver by means of a digital photograph and is able to relay said data via radio to a remote control centre. Areas of application are road traffic and parking spaces. The optical monitoring system according to the invention for monitoring motor vehicles that are driven into or out of a traffic area to be monitored is characterised in that said monitoring system consists of a CCD chip and optics, a radio clock, a transmitter, an evaluating electronics having computer chip and memory unit, and a solar cell panel.
