Abstract

The invention relates to a device (100) for applying a material strand to an object, which material strand is intended for the production of an element for electromagnetic shielding. The device (100) comprises a first cylinder (120), which is arranged to accommodate a dispensable first material, a second cylinder (122), which is arranged to accommodate a dispensable second material, and a piston (130, 132) in respectively the first (120) and the second cylinder (122), which pistons (130, 132) are arranged movably in the respective cylinder (120, 122). The device (100) further comprises a drive member having a piston unit (190) for unison displacement of the pistons (130, 132) in order to achieve respectively a first flow of the first material from the first cylinder (120) and a second flow of the second material from the second cylinder (122), a merging unit for merging the first and the second flow into a merged flow in which the first flow flows around the outside of the second flow, and a dispensing nozzle (118) for dispensing the merged flow onto the object in order to achieve the material strand. The invention also relates to a method for applying the material strand.
